Does it seem to make any difference if the shirts are 50/50 or 100% cotton to do the transfers?

I found a great selection of shirts at Hobby Lobby (child's XS through Adult XXXL), but they are all 50/50. Does the transfer "stick" as well on 50/50?

The Avery transfers actually say that the best results are with the 50/50 shirts.

thanks for the reply about the t-shirts. The 50/50 ones are much easier (and cheaper) to find than the 100% cotton.

I need to pick a color because I think I'll use the 7 Dwarfs on the back with the composite on the front. (great idea - thanks to the person who came up wit the idea).

hey guys--does anyone know if michaels or acmoore has plain orange shirts? i know last time i was there they had some colors, but not sure..any ideas? thanks!

Was at Michaels yesterday...our store did not have orange. This is what I was looking specifically for.

o no..thats what i was afraid of...i have to try to find orange shirts by tuesday !! any other ideas of where to check?

1/2 the shirt I made our 50/50.
I had no problems.
Just followed instructions same as 100%.

Where is everyone tonight? The boards seem slow. My thoughts are with Triplefigs and to all those in the areas that are about to get hit by Rita.

Deb

:grouphug: for all the people preparing for Rita.
:grouphug: to triplefigs for family issues.
It really does feel like a family around here.

:grouphug: to those in Texas and La!! Many prayers are headed your way!

On a little lighter note - here are a few of my latest experiments...

I am making little business sized card with each of my kids names, age, Height, Weight, Hair and eye color. They will have a recent head shot of each child along with Dh and My name, cell phone number, hotels and dates. I plan to laminate them and Dh and I will have one for each child and they will have one in their belly bag so they can show it to a CM. Deb

This is what I do! I created a Word file and I just update the info and put in a new picture. I have it set up as a table so that I print one side, flip the paper over and print on the back. It comes out business card sized. I use resume paper since it's a bit heavier.

I used to cold laminate ... but if it gets wet - they fall apart! (Guess where I learned that!) I can share my file if I could figure out how to upload a Word doc. Can I?

I like the tags on the shoe idea but want something for when they don't have their sneakers on and they are too young for an id card - no where to put it!

Do they pin trade? I made a separate one with a cute Disney grpahic on one side and the ID info on the back with hotel & cell numbers. People only saw the Disney design on the card (which I anal retentively matched to each park!)

Go to your nearest t-shirt specialty store. They are usually local - don't know of any major brand names. They may cost a little more than Wal-Mart, but should have a good selection of colors and sizes.

WOW...y'all have been chatty Cathys haven't ya?!?!? Y'all are keeping me up too late but I HAD to catch up!! :earboy2:

Ladylucca & My3princes ...I just love those Dwarf shirts!!
I was wondering if different characters could be used in that design?

My3princes...the backpack is such a great idea.I love the way it looks! Your t-shirts look great too.

Bugdozer...I LOVE the Mickey wreath! Do you mind sharing it?

4myGirls...your Chef Mickey is really cute!

J&NMom...I think those bracletes might be a good idea especially for little ones, like yours.Have your name and your cell number on them.It took me 20 minutes to figure out what ICE meant!! Triplefigs bead bracelets a good idea too.Probably cheaper too.

Blueeyes101817...our AC Moore has orange...gee they have about every color under the rainbow!!

crzy4pooh...those are really cute!

lovespoohbear...keeping you and that entire area in my prayers!

triplefigs....{{{hug}}} Safe trip! I hope things go well.

Has anyone else been using the Print-n-Press transfers? These are the first ones I"ve ever tried and they're not coming out well :badpc: I've tried 3 shirts with 3 transfers.. the first one was mainly just a "test" shirt... cause it was mostly spandex... and the image printed out very dark as it was ... but part of the edge of the design kinda pulled up and there are creases through the shirt.... so I did another one last night... a 100% cotton one... and that one didn't turn out at all.... like the image didn't stick.. and then I was thinking I could salvage the shirt when a small part of mickey's head stuck down :( The rest of the image didn't even attempt to stick (although the transfer paper did stick to the shirt.. just not the image) and when I pulled it back it was all crackley. I think I might switch to the Avery that I see most of you using.. I just hate to waste the $20 i spent on 10 transfers.. ugh.

Hi! I am relatively new to this board, but my buddy, StitchIsOurHero, has gotten me hooked. We have already done oodles (technical term ;) ) of shirts, and we are doing more this weekend. You are all SO talented, and I am having more fun with photoshop than I ever thought possible. :rotfl:

And to all you in Texas and Louisiana, my prayers are with you.
