I can't believe how much creating has been going on while I was in Disneyland. You guys are too much! Anyway, I just wanted to give a personal thanks to Julia and Nick's Mom and Momof2OH for their help with my T-Shirt designs. We had a group of 20 ranging in age from 75 to 18 months old and we all wore matching shirts on our first day in the park. It was so fun to watch people's faces in the lines. They would stare at our shirts (Thanks, Walt) and get a smile on their faces. Several people stopped us and asked where we had gotten the shirts. At most of the rides, the CM's would see us all together and yell, "Hey, look, everyone. It's the Adams family on vacation!" We also had several instances where people would stop us and say, "Oh, I just saw some of your people. They went THAT way." It was so fun! My parents were so grateful to have the shirts. We even got a picture of all of us in front of the castle in our shirts. (I'll try to post pictures if I ever figure it all out).

The next day, I dressed my kids in the character shirts that Momof2OH designed for me. DD1 in Minnie Mouse, DS in Buzz, and DD's 2 & 3 (twins) in Dumbo. All day long the cast members greeted them by name and commented on their shirts. They all felt really important. By the end of the day, all their cousins were a little peeved that I hadn't made shirts for them as well. I told them there's always next time.

So, thanks to all of you who help to make our Disney vacations a dream come true! Mine sure was. Thanks for the pixie dust!

I have another question for all of you creative minds... I know this will sound stupid, but how do you pick the t-shirt colors that will fit best with the designs? How do the colors really come out on the dark/bright shirts? I've made my (very long) list of shirts I want to make, and looked at the shirts available at Wal-Mart, Target, and the shirt web-site just posted, and I just can't decide what colors go best. Do you try to match a color in the design? Does what you see on the screen match what comes out on the shirts? Do you take the design to the store? Please pardon my ignorance! DH is not very excited about my new hobby (he thinks in dollar signs), and I want the shirts to look GREAT (just like the designs do!!!) Any suggestions? Thank you!!!! :goodvibes

Hi,
I have been lurking for a while. We have our designs-Thanks everyone :goodvibes ready to go. The shirts are washed and ironed and the transfer have been printed on HP Dark transfer paper. Tommorrow is the BIG day we are making the shirts-me and a friend. I will post pictures when we are done.

The question above here is what we did. I printed miniature pictures on plain white paper. I got about 4 per sheet. I printed them in best quailty to get a feel for the color. Then we trimmed them. We took them with us and actually laid them down on the t-shirts to see what we liked. We got our shirts at AC moore for $2.00 each 50/50 and they have 32 colors. :earseek: You should have seen us in the store. Shirts all over the tables with mini Disney graphics on them. People were giving us strange looks but we had a blast :teeth: It worked great. We are doing about 20 shirts total between 4 of us.
Thanks to all for sharing your designs :cheer2:

Thanks! I was thinking it would feel a bit awkward doing that, but hey, I end up with awesome shirts!!! ;) I've read about AC Moore a few times, so I looked up the closest store... 341 miles away in Charleston SC... :earseek: DH probably wouldn't go for a road trip just to get blank shirts!!! :rotfl: Oh well! Thanks again for the suggestion! I can't wait to see pics of your shirts!

On another note, many pages ago someone had posted an image of Disneyworld 2005 with the "00" being mousears. Can someone please re-post it but in red? Thought it might look cute on a sleeve or on the back of the shirt by the collar...

ThankYou So-o-o-o-o-o-o- Much!!!!!
Did you get my PM yesterday about the Princess Mommy shirt in blue? I don't mean to be a bother...

Well, you got 365 days but how often can you use it?

We're there every other weekend, at least! :teeth:
Gosh I love living in Tampa!
At least every other Saturday, a week in July for DS's bday (he got his first AP for his bday present), an overnight last weekend just to see fireworks, 2 nights in Oct for MNSSHP, 1 night for DD bday in November, 5 nights in December.....

So, anyone want to take a stab at a frequent visitor shirt? :teeth:
Or do you hate me now? :teeth:

Please? We go so often I'm going to need several sets of shirts, so I'd love to see several takes on it! But they can't say "vacation" or the year or stuff like that.....

Here's one idea. We always start our weekends with DH saying "Who wants to go on an adventure?" This could be bowling or mini-golf or WDW...whatever....but our family activities are our "adventures". (My kids even call their galoshes their "adventure boots"!) So I've always loved this Pooh quote: "As soon as he saw the Big Boots, Pooh knew that an Adventure was going to happen..." But I just can't think of what to do with it! Any suggestions?

We'd also love a classic mickey design of some sort....but we're really open to anything!

As it stands, I have shirts ready to go in 7 colors, but have only got two designs (a DVC design I did since we just bought and the stick people...DH just loved that one!). We're really looking for something about family adventures or going all the time....

When Steffy and I originally thought to do this, we really didnt realize how much trouble we were going to have. :confused3 :confused3 So we first went to A C Moore and picked out a lilac and robin's egg blue just cause they looked good. :) Then I got on the cell with my sister in Ga and we each were at a Walmart and happened to find a gold mine in Hanes Just My Size :Pinkbounc and there we were talking and laying out shirts and making sure we had four of each color. :listen: We just thought the bright colors looked good and at that point had not really settled on what shirt for what design. (sorta) Then back to Steffy and I and we put out the shirts and just sorta matched what looked good and then we called my sister in Ga and made a final decision. :smooth:

OK I have downloaded the free trial on Photoimpact a week ago. Thought I could try it. I can't seem to figure out how to put a different background to my picture. :badpc: I want to extract the characters in the middle and put them on something else. If that makes sense? Can anyone point me in the right direction. :teacher:

Hi fellow Oregonian! :wave2: Are you able to get the characters extracted and pasted into a new image? Go ahead and pm me if you need to.

Thanks Tinker1bell! I kind of figured I would have to do just take the pictures and see them with the shirts. I just wasn't sure if the colors would come out exactly as they appear on the transfer paper. I haven't ever done any craft like this before, but I'm excited!!! I just played around with photoshop again, this time working with some of DH's castle photos. I did a nighttime castle pic with it lit up in bright pink, and put an impressionist brush over it - it came out so pretty! I'm still working on getting just the right frame, though. My next project is to figure out how to post pics - I'm headed to shutterfly next.

Triplefigs - LOVE the siggy!!! I'm a Seminole fan myself - can't wait for more football tomorrow!!! :cheer2:

Kadaten - we have AP's too. We go as often as possible, except during the heat of the summer! :sunny: We are going this Sat with friends for their DD's 2nd birthday, then next Sat for the Triathlon Expo, then a week off, then the following weekend (3 days/2 nights) for the races... I'm in the same boat with needing shirts without "vacation" and dates. I can't wait to see what the designers come up with! :flower: (A HUGE thank you to all of you designers!!!)

Anyway, I really need to get to bed! DS will be up early!!! Goodnight all!

No I don't hate you.
I envey you.

OK you got me.
I only get to go once a year 2 weeks, 14 days.
So I get to use 1 pass 2 times 4 weeks, 28 days.
I love Oregon wish it was closer.

I have a question?

A Disney Design Addict.

Means we are addicted to this thread.
Or designing.

I'm asking because.

My shirts are all done.
Even my neighbors that I helped her with.

I still have breakfast every morning while reading this thread.
After work as soon as I can, I'm back reading this thread.

Yes we will be @ WDW 14 days.
I really don't need to change 2x a day.
Had to UPS my DD shirts, no room in luggage.
So that's it I can't do any more shirts.
I already did the Halloween bag.
Even made a design for my DS Halloween costume.

Is this crazy feels like home here.

I lost it when you said you had to UPS dd's shirts... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Spoken like a true addict. :cheer2: I have missed a couple of hours, so I have to catch up. It's late. I need to be in bed.... :cloud9:

Ummm...aren't you supposed to be making a list and checking it twice?????
I'm in the same boat as you. We leave in about 11 days and I haven't packed anything, barely have a list, know that I'm forgetting to do about a hundred things, have no shirts made - I have bought the transfer paper and shirts, and have one shirt washed - that's it. I'm so far behind!

Ah yes, the one shirt washed. Me too!!

Hey, at least you know where your luggage is! We just moved and I looked everywhere at the condo... no luggage. I'm going to have to go through the storage area in this house! looking for luggage. My storage area is half the size of my entire condo!!! I'm in trouble.

I called Disney Direct and they can't get the Mickey luggage to me in time. :earseek:

I will be landing at MCO in 8 days. :hourglass with all of my earthly possessions in a black garbage bag if I don't get a move on!!! :hourglass

Ahh you got me there! I'd love to have annual passes but that damn ocean gets in the way and makes my WDW trips very expensive... oh to be able to *pop* to the MK on a saturday afternoon...
