1. How much do they run

2. and are the really done right there on the spot?

1. About the same or a little bit more than a regular shirt.

2. Yes, ours took 30 minutes. It may take more or less depending on how busy they are. They are probably using DTG (Direct to Garment) printing, which sprays the ink right on the shirt.

They give it to you in a special bag and also give you very specific care instructions.

We did it a few years ago shortly after they opened.

As I recall the shirts were around $25 each

They had sample sizes so you could see how the shirts run (I thought that was clever) and it was easy/ fun to make the designs.

I seem to remember our wait was more like an hour for the shirts but it's easy to kill that much time in DTD.

Shirts and designs have held up well

I didn't realize that you could do graphics, or am I reading this wrong?

If you CAN do graphics, what's required? Sketch? .tiff? .pdf?

99.999999% sure you can't add your own files. You can pick from certain Disney Clip art, add text and thats about it. There are only a few templates.

You can't bring your own disk and there is no photoshop like tools.

It's was fantastic!!!

My father loved the shirt my son made for him. He was the perfect gift. Plus my dad (aka Papa) gets tons of comments.

Design Time. It took 30 minutes mostly because a 5 year old was help my husband design it.
Print Time: We had the shirt sent back to our resort so we didn't have to wait for it.
Cost: $25

We'll do it again!

In October, there were a lot of designs to choose from. They ranged from the pretty standard Mickey and Friends characters (e.g., Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, etc.) to holiday-specific to some more unique characters (e.g., Figment). You can only select from the available choices (i.e., you cannot bring your own sketch, drawing or photo). You can add text, but you cannot have anything controversial printed; you also cannot print specific names of sports teams. I remember you could choose either a t-shirt (short sleeve) and long-sleeve shirt, but no sweatshirts.

The wait depends on how busy the shop is. When I've made shirts, the wait times ranged from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. You can opt to use package pick-up to your resort (if you're staying at a Disney hotel). Otherwise, we found plenty to do and look out while we waited.

We did this recently on our trip. We did it on our last morning there so was a little strapped for time. The shirts cost about $30 and ours were ready within an hour. It's great because there are so many picture options for the shirts. My sister really wanted Stitch and there were no shirts available in the parks so we made one. You can also put phrases on the shirts, with the year, Disney world or basically anything you want too.

DS8 has made one the last 2 trips we have taken. In January when we were on the bus to DTD, the first thing he said is "I've got to go make a new shirt."
The first one we had made, the CM showed him this tiny shirt then let him put it in the "mail chute" to send to magic kingdom for Mickey to do his magic on it. After we got the shirt, he said "they don't really send it over there, do they? They just like to say that." I thought it was a cute story, but they didn't do it when we were there in January.
Both shirts look great and have held up to him wearing them weekly.

I did this on our January trip. I had wanted to do it on a previous trip but at that time there was no Mad Hatter. Well now the Hatter is "in the house" and I got my t-shirt made. As others said, it took about an hour. It's so cool I may get a custom t-shirt every trip. My Hatter shirt says "Don't Let's Be Silly":earsboy:

I have to add that this is the best place to get a good selection of plus-sized shirts. My son wears a 3X, and there are precious few shirts that size available in the parks. The Design-A-Tee offers their full selection up to size 5X if I remember correctly. And, as noted, the price is very reasonable compared to standard park tee-sirt prices.

Here is a pic of ours from Dec. I think they were 22.

Does anyone have a contact # or website? I would like to pre-order something special for my birthday girls and would like it waiting for them at the resort when we arrive.
