So I just signed up for the disney debit card today and im kinda lost. after I signed up and deposited money chase just says thank you for choosing chase and takes me back to the main screen. Im kinda wondering how the disney vacation offers are made available to me. I know there is a FD offer right now but Im wondering if there is another one coming out very soon for dec. I just dont want to miss it! If anyone is out there that has a disney debit card and can guide me on how to make sure I know as soon as the offer is offered to the card holders. Thanks so much in advance!!:goodvibes

I imagine it will work just like the Chase Visa card. You have to use it to pay for your vacations in order to qualify for the specials. Once you receive your debit card, you will have a number just like a credit card number.

What I was more wondering is how you get the heads up on the offers coming out. Disney visa card holders usually get a few days head start on some of the deals. last year it was free dining released in july for fall and winter. Im just wondering how you get notified. plus I have booked a package already and have paid most of it off not using the disney visa how would this be applied I wonder?

We usually don't get anything specific--in the mail, etc. I just find stuff on the disboards or mousesavers or other Disney informational sites. Sometimes right on the WDW website itself.

Usually, they will require you to pay for the entire vacation using your Chase card.

oh ok I guess I need to stay on top of that!!!!!!! lol

Nothing much to add, but thanks for posting this. I didn't realize they had a Debit rewards program; just assumed it was for the Credit Visa only. I just opened an account and have a goal of $100-150 in reward dollars before our November trip... by the looks of the reward estimator, that should be doable. So thanks OP! :)

I am going to open one with my next paycheck too! A few questions besides the special codes (yeah) I see you earn Disney Reward Dollars. Do you get a gift card or how do you pay for, say a dinner? Any other cool things? Does anyone know the limits, I have to pay for airline tickets at the end of the month that are going to run @$4000. I know my local bank will just up my limits for the day, is a big bank like Chase helpful, like that?

Yes you get a gift card with your rewards dollars on it =)
Not sure what Chase's debit card limits are, but I also work for a large bank and our debit cards' maximum is $5000/day. A manager can approve a temporary limit of $6000/day in rare circumstances. I'd assume Chase is similar.

I have had my Dmom and Dbrother sign up and got $25 for each of them plus the 25 you get with the first 3 usages so now I have $75 free disney dollars!!! plus I plan on using it for my airline tickets and the rest of my trip by the end of the month that will add another 3000 dollars which will make my total $100 roughly! not bad for free money! plus I want to use it for my bills ect my goal is also 150-200 by dec! plus I am putting all of my spending money on it so when I buy $50 or more in souvies I'll get 10% off of my purchase! Every penny counts right??? Also about the emails. Do you get them way in advance or like a day or so??? TIA!

PS Im glad I could pass on the rewards info to anyone that hadnt known before! I was very excited when I found out so I had to share!

I so love this program! Free money is a great thing in WDW :rotfl:
About the emails, I can't recall exactly as I don't usually use them, but I think I get them the same day they are available to book. I can tell you my travel agent usually knows about them before I do, but she's on the ball!

Free Disney money is even better in my book!!!!! yay for free money!!:goodvibes

If you go to the Disney Visa Rewards website, there is a section that says "Manage my account." Select the option to "Register to recieve news and offers from Disney Rewards." You will then be promted to log in to your chase account and the settings change will take affect.

I have been wondering about opening up a chase debit account since back in February, and have just procrastinated till now.

I do have a question can you just transfer $ from your existing bank account(not chase) to chase online or do you have to go into the bank to do it, I want to keep my other bank account and direct deposit there :confused3

Yes you can set up an external transfer acct with you existing checking acct. it takes a few days for them to verify it but once its verified you can swapped money over very easily. I do not have a chase anywhere near me so this works out very well for me! I also set up direct deposit for 5% of my check to go into the acct (Like a disney fund :rotfl:)!

Not having a Chase near me was what was holding me back , the nearest one is like 35miles from me. I had no idea you could split a direct deposit between two accounts how interesting  I know you have to have at least 5 debits per month or direct deposit in order to avoid a monthly fee , at least that is how it was back when I checked in February.

yep thats what was the deciding factor for me was the external transfer and the direct deposit. 5% is nothing so I dont even really notice it! so I save money for disney w/o paying attention! :woohoo:

I just applied for this but where is the referral link to get others to sign up?
