Hi,
My boyfriend is a reservist, not activated for Operation Iraqi Freedom, but still a reservist doing his job one weekend a month, etc. I called Disney yesterday when I saw the Armed Forces Salute discount and re-booked our trip for August (cancelled the "package" with tickets and ASSp and booked room at POR and will get our hopper tix at the gate). I told the reservationist he is a reservist and she said all we need is his military ID when we check in the hotel and at the gate of the park where we get his complimentary park hopper pass and my $99 pass. No word on having to be activated or required to show military orders.
In reality, all that are active and retired members of the military should be granted the discount. They are all deserving and much-appreciated citizens!
I'm sure that Disney will get a ton of questions around this and arguments, so I don't see a problem wiht active (but not activated) military not being granted this discount.
