Did anyone sign up? I signed up (REALLY high traffic on the site today) for a food shelter which will allow my 7 year old son to participate. We will purchase food and cook a meal for 35. I haven't done a service project in a while, so it will be a good experience for us!

I am hoping to use the ticket for Magic Kingdom.

the site is slammed. There are only 2 offerings for kids 6 and up so I need to get into one of them. Very frustrating

I have it narrowed down to 2 and am still waiting for a few sleepyheads to wake up so we can decide as a family what we want to do. We have a package so will be getting the alternate options (fastpasses). I do a lot of volunteering and try to get my kids involved when I do, but these options are things we would have not normally done and I am excited about it.

Yes we signed up to clean a park on Jan 23. My dilemma is what to do with my almost 5 year old that day. I am thinking about contacting the contact person and seeing if she can still volunteer with us as a family (I understand that she won't get a ticket) but I really wanted this to be a family event. If not it will be me, my DH and my DD 7. It took me almost 40 minutes to finally get through, the site kept timing out.

I signed my Girl Scout Troop up. THe great thing? They think they are volunteering just to serve and have no idea about the tix!

Well after seeing how busy it seemed to be I went back and sure enough the one is booked, but I was leaning towards the other anyway so I signed up. It said I will hear back in 5 days to arrange our time. It starts goes from 5:30 to 11 am, I am hoping they work weekends, otherwise we will do it over February break. Either works for us, I am very excited for this!

I was surprised that so few were willing to work with kids, I guess I can see why, but I like the idea of starting kids young and getting them involved, especially like a PP said, as a family unit.

Found the service we want to do but can't get the page to load to register! I keep getting Problem loading page error.

I'll keep trying. It looks like a good one for the whole family. There are lots for 6-17 in my area but I don't think my 7 yr old would be helpful at some of the ones they have listed. As much as she loves to talk, I don't see how she would be helpful as a phone receptionist for the food bank.

Disney isn't in our plans for this year but who knows, maybe we can make a trip. We still have water park passes

this is beyond frustrating, I've been trying for over an hour to either get the page loaded or then it does finally load , only for me to start fillng in the info for the message of session timed out to pop up! ugg.....

keep trying, there is alot of availabilty it appears in my area for children to help, some of the info is vague though, and not sure exactly what we are volunteering for lol~

I did send the email for the project linus blanket stuff, but not sure how expensive that could get if we all did that choice ... any one have any idea of how much a big blanket of fleece would cost to make?? good luck to everyone!
This is such a great motivation to get so many people involved!~

Does anyone know how the free day works when you are buying a package for 7-10 days? Does it just discount the package the value of a day? Thanks!

I wish Project Linus was available by us, we have made blankets for another charity in the past. Good reminder, I think we will pick up some fleece and make some again over Februaury break.
We are in Rochester, NY and there was only one that our youngest could participate in, the other ones we considered were in Buffalo over an hour away. I figured I better take it before it fills up.

I can't get any of this to load right!~

I did notice on the side print, that it said to make sure you went to Hands on Network site to finish registering or something, or it wouldn't be complete.. but when I go to that website it just takes you back to disney's site?? am I missing something??

mickeymomof three... do you remember about how much it costs to make a blanket??

Did you get to the page where it showed what you signed up for and then all of your volunteers and then you had to put a check into the date you selected and a check mark next to all the volunteers for that date of service.

I believe that after the service project is completed, you will get a voucher that can be printed off and that is the ticket. I'll have to re-read that portion again once the web site traffic slows down.

I got an email confirming my date of service and all the volunteers listed. It had the time to report and where to go.

From what I read, once I complete my assignment the organizers of my event will submit that we did our day of service and then I will get an email from disney with a link to print my voucher.

Is that what everyone else is getting too?

Not too many opportunities for our family. We did sign up for Project Linus and our confirmation e-mail states that we will be contacted within 5 days. If it wasn't for this opportunity, it looked like we had to drive over an hour for the next location...I doubt that we will use the tickets, but what the heck :goodvibes

Argh I have been trying for an hour and I can not get through, it just keeps freezing, I got all the way to the confirmation, its so frustrating!!!

I was checking this out this morning and was very disppointed in the opportunities for my zip.

One place was less than 30 mi from home, but it doesn't allow my DD11 to participate.

Most of the options I got were 1-2 hours away for me.

With all of the charities and org's in my area, I don't understand why there are so few opportunities near me.

Not sure we will bother with this promotion.

We'll just continue to do the volunteering we always do.
