Disney Dating site?

Is it desperate to use those kind of sites ya think? I was thinking that eHarmony in particular was mostly people that were serious about finding the right someone. Other dating sites seem to be a lot less serious.

When you are stuck in a situation of finding someone that is compatible with you in a place where no one seems to be, I would think it wouldn't matter whether or not it was desperation.

Timmy...come on now, last cruise didn't i meet 3 single ladies?? All within the first couple hours of boarding too. But I do admit, if it weren't for some beer pressure i may have been stuck with you all, all week..haha. Maybe you will meet two girls like brittany and olivia..;) I can help you track them down, just like a dawg, i can sniff them out...haha.

I'd say go ahead and use eharmony. That thing seems to be one of, if not the best, dating sites on the internet. I hear about it all the time and though I've never used it and more than likely, never will, it sounds nice.

This is from a guy who's signed up at e-spin the bottle!! :teeth:

Tried it - only met with one guy he was nice but not for me so I then set him up with a really good single girlfriend of mine .. my problem with e-harmony is they had people from as far away as vermont - I am sorry I can't just pack up my kids and move state! (nor would i expect anyone else to do that for me) but give it a shot what do you have to lose?

Don't have much to lose at all. Just seems so impersonal but I guess is one of the benefits of technology. Don't have to go to the bar and buy drink first. Just have to subscribe to the site.

I don't think it's desperate, just be careful. To be honest, I have never met a guy online before who did not turn out to be a weirdo...

I wish I could show you all the messages I got. I think I did it just for the ego boost as I'm afraid to meet any of the people off there :rotfl:

sadly, the bottle never stopped spinning for me. :sad1:

I haven't signed up over at DisMates yet. I've met people off the internet before (friends & dates), so I don't know why I'm apprehensive about signing up...

Desperate? I don't think so but then again I met my honey on match.com! :rotfl: He is actually quite the catch. I have also tried eharmony. I do think that people who use that site are more ready to settle down. Internet dating can be a lot of fun but you just have to be careful.

By careful what do you mean? You mean meeting them in a public place and going for a walk somewhere public?

It probably is a little easier being a man. Definitely meet in public at least the first time. I didn't even give my home phone number out right away (always my cell since you can do reverse searches on the net if you have a home number). I didn't even let my DBF pick me up at home until our 4th date! He stuck around anyway!!

I am so glad I decided to read this thread. I am a 41 year old widow with two girls (14 and 11). After many tries at finding the "right" one, I decided to forget it. My desires are quite simple: a love of Disney, college football, and animals. Sounds easy, huh? Not at all! After trying to change for different people, I have decided that this is me and I will not change.

and you shouldn't change.

And I have not met a *normalized* woman via online yet as well, including a shot through Eharmony. Eharmony really does not align you any better than your own communication and good judgement.

I'm number 29 over at dismates.com. MsMickey.

Of course, dating is an impossiblity from where I'm at right now. I work overseas and get home a few times a year. But it'll be good to at least electronically chat with single Disney lovers! I'll try to stay in touch.

Yes, my username here is CALIFLADY (I used to live in CA). Then my tag came from when I lived in Japan in 2003-2004. Apparently, the Tag Fairy wanted to visit me in Tokyo! So I'm a little Internationally spread out, but still have a love for our American Disney.

I made it to Disneyland for the first time in almost 40 years when I was in CA on business in March 2005. Way cool to see California Adventure for the first time! I plan to make it to WDW in 2008 or 2009 (I know, it's a long way off...).

Curiously, what kind of work are you *doing* overseas?

So,

1. I won't be suprised if a woman that I communicate with doesn't want to give out her phone number or have me pick her up.

2. I will use not count too much on the web service to find a match other than the things in common discovered through the surveys.

1) Don't be but that's not been my experience. I'm on match.com and every woman I've met gave me their number first. We agreed to meet at a restaurant for the first date but if there was a second date (or more), I usually picked them up at their home.

2) The main idea behind the surveys is it's just a starting point. There is usually a lot more to people than what they can put down in few paragraphs and a questionnaire.
