Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

WOW! Good deals you got.
Be very careful selling Disney items with copyright logos as they are going to get a lot stricter about it.
It is never too soon to start planning a trip.
Guilty! I hang my stuff over the balcony. LOL. I like how it dries outside better personally.
That is a Mickey head. LOL.
Have you looked into renting points to stay there? Sometimes it is cheaper than a hotel stay.

I've heard that they are getting strict with the copyrights.

We used to have an outdoor clothesline (at our house) and I loved the feel of the towels after they had been hung out to dry. Call me crazy but I like that scratchy feel.

I did look into renting points but I'm a scaredy cat and am afraid that I'd have to cancel and couldn't get my money back.

I definitely think Hunter gets his lovely photo poses from John.....oh yeah, that first one is frameworthy! We would also love to stay at the Beach Club one day, but our income just wouldn't allow for that. We do enjoy Cape May at BC for a nice dinner. :thumbsup2

John would not make a serious face for nothin'. Crazy man!

Thank goodness Disney makes resorts with all budgets in mind otherwise, we'd still be staying offsite. I think that we are going to give Cape May a try next trip.

I think that last pic of you guys came out really nice!

The Epcot resorts are so pretty but like you I would rather go more often or for longer periods of time. I can totally see why people love staying there. It's gorgeous!

Thank you!

I loved the look and feel of the Yacht and Beach Club! It must be so nice to walk to Epcot.

Nice job with the shopping deals. The first thing that came to mind with the 4.99 shirts is how many compliments they'll both be getting now. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: at a list of lists. It is fun being able to plan the details of a vacation.

When we were in Dillards this past weekend, I looked for another "amazing shirt". Of course, there weren't any.

I love lists! Seriously, love them.

Yay for shopping with coupons! Love it! :thumbsup2

I couldn't let those good coupons go to waste!

Hunter must be thrilled over his new guitar! I am very excited for him! :cool1:

He absolutely loves it!

OMG - that hidden Mickey DOES look like bird crap! :rotfl2: How cute! Good for you for finding it!

I truly thought that it was bird crap at first but then noticed the shape.

I'm glad you finally made it over to the BC/YC. It really is so gorgeous and a great spot just to walk around. I hear ya on the pocket book ouch. If it wasn't for DVC I would never be able to stay there.

If only we had bought into DVC long ago. :sad2:

Cute pictures of you and John (well - he was sort of squinting or something :rotfl:)

He would not make a serious face for the picture. Goofball!

Wow awesome job finding that Hidden Mickey and yes it does look like bird poop! They were really trying to hide it :lmao:

Wasn't the hidden Mickey unique? It's the first bird poop hidden Mickey!

I'm so happy you had an update waiting here for me this morning. We only make it over to WDW about every other year or so. One year ago today my DH, DD and I were heading over there and taking my sister and two nieces with us for their first time. It was SO fun and I am feeling downright homesick today.

Several years ago, Sept 2004 to be specific, DH and I stayed at Boardwalk and our experience was kinda... meh. We expected "street" performers and such but there was nothing. We do intend to try it again someday because that was the summer of the three hurricanes and it was a weird week anyway when we ended up renting a car two days before our planned departure to catch a flight out of Atlanta because they closed MCO. So, even with a less than stellar hotel stay, it was certainly a memorable vacation. ;)

:rockband:

Great job on a guitar! and all your savings! :thumbsup2 can't believe summer is over.. That just makes my trip that much closer! :cool1:

i have to agree someone said you the picture is frame worthy! :rotfl2: Too funny. you guys are just lots of fun!!!!

A-MAZ-ING Disney trained their birds how to poop Mickey heads! :cool2:

Isn't it crazy how the Summer has gone by so quickly? Seems like Hunter was just getting out of school and now it's time to go back.

John was just not going to cooperate on getting a decent picture. The crazy man!

Isn't it crazy how Disney was able to train their birds to do that?!:rotfl2:

That's so great that you surprised Hunter with the guitar. He seems like a good kid that definitely deserves it.

He really is a good kid, never causes any trouble, goes to church, etc. He deserved it and it was a total surprise to him.

I can't wait to see pics of the shirt your making.

I didn't get to work on it last night because I canned fresh tomatoes and pears but hope to work on it tonight.

I hope Hunter gets to find that tank top in his size.

We find an alternate later on.

Love the bird poop Mickey! Who would've thought we'd both have poop themed posts on our TRs on the same day! :)

I need to get over there and read the poop post.

Had to get caught up on a few updates

First- real life- thanks for keeping us up to date with Mama. Hoping that the reasons behind her dizziness are discovered soon- inner ear is certainly a likely culprit.

She has an ENT appointment today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they find the answer.

Great bargain shopping! That is fantastic that you got the guitar for Hunter, since music is so important to him.

Gotta love a good bargain.

I have not been in the church in Norway and I think I only recently learned you could go inside. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I have only seen Frozen once. Ben and I watched, but with teen boys in the house our tastes run more to Game of Thrones and Zombie stuff! and football.

Dee, really, zombies? :crazy2:

I had about the same reaction as you to Schoolbread. I was SOOOOO excited to try it, especially since coconut is one of my favorite flavors. But, like you, I expected to be sweeter. Mine was dry, too. It did not blow me away and I don't think I have tried it since that first time in 2008.

I won't be going back for the school bread any time soon. Too many other goodies out there to try.

YAY for an unexpected DIS meet!

The unexpected ones are always fun!

I am so excited that you had a little visit to my happy place! You know, if you went into the YC gift shop (Fittings & Fairings)- you have seen more of the YC than me. I have only been in the lobby, near Captain's Grille, in the YC resort.

The gift shop at YC was nice but didn't have the tank we were looking for.

That hidden Mickey is hilarious! I haven't seen that before. I will check that out in a couple of weeks during my solo drive-by visit home for the Beach & Yacht Club FAQ meet. I'll be there a couple of days.

I thought about you when I saw that bird poop. Such an honor to be thought of in times like that huh? No, I thought that you would probably want to see if it was there when you return.

Speaking of upcoming trips. I think I will just be missing you next year :(

The dates have not definitively been set yet, but Ben's class trip will probably be the following week in June, after you return home.

For real? We will be leaving on the 6th of June. :sad2:

Somehow I missed the previous update, so I will comment on both!

I was just thinking about you this morning and was going to ask how you were. It's good to see you.

It's too bad the School bread and horn weren't all that good. They do both look like they should have good flavor, so it's too bad they don't live up to that.

I had hoped that the goodies would live up to their good reviews but they didn't. Oh well, at least we tried.

I've noticed that the line for Maelstrom has been pretty long my last 2 trips, even before FP+ started. I never used to have trouble getting on it, but now the line is too long to justify standing in. :confused3

I've seen wait times of about 20 minutes before but only during really busy times.

I think the pictures of you and John are great! :goodvibes

Oh yeah, they were great alright. :rotfl:

Too bad they didn't have the tank in Hunter's size in any of the shops. The pictures you took around Beach/Yacht club are nice. I'd love to stay at a deluxe resort someday as well, but probably won't anytime soon for the same reason as you. I'd rather stay at CBR and get a longer vacation! :thumbsup2

I'm super excited to see the new rooms at the CBR. I know that I was reluctant for them to change the bright colors but they look really nice.

Another great update, Lisa!

Thank you m'am!

Awww, makes you miss Disney doesn't it? At least you can think of all the good times you had that trip.

I was all excited about seeing the Boardwalk and it was, like you said, meh. Oh you poor thing! You really did have a "memorable" vacation.:sad2:

Fun update, Lisa.

John cracked me up in your couples pictures.

I'm glad you got a chance to visit the Beach and Yacht Club resorts. They really are beautiful. I will say, truthfully though, that I was not a fan of the Beach Club (worse transportation ever). But we have enjoyed numerous meals at both resorts.

Of course Hunter needed a rest...have to check those text messages. ;)

John just would not cooperate. You know that he usually doesn't smile in pictures so Hunter probably told him "smile" and this is what we got. :rolleyes1

I loved the look at the Beach and Yacht Club resorts. You know we love those beaches and would probably stay there if it didn't mean cutting our trip in half.

Hunter and his phone. He's worse than his daddy.:sad2:

Very interesting Hidden Mickey! :rotfl2: Nice tour around Yacht/Beach Club. Sounds like you had a nice walk and got in a little shopping, even though Hunter didn't find his tank.

You look lovely in the pictures. Too bad John looks like...John :joker:

We see hidden Mickeys everywhere too! During the snowstorm this year, we hiked over to a friend's house to take care of their dogs, as they were stuck downtown, and we found a hidden Mickey then.

And - it's never to early to start planning the next trip. Especially if you're already booked!!

I am certain we must have crossed each others paths that day. We were staying at the Beach Club, then went in to Epcot.

The hidden Mickey sure was a good one. I swear that I thought it was bird poop.

John never smiles in pictures and when we tell him too it looks something like what we ended up with.

Love finding hidden Mickeys eveni n the real world!

I booked the trip the day that the 2015 rates came out. I love planning!

I am certain we must have crossed each others paths that day. We were staying at the Beach Club, then went in to Epcot.

I bet that we did and didn't even know it. :sad2:

You big fat lipped hairy sucker you! Be still!

As I said, I was very happy that we had visited both the Yacht & Beach Club. They are both gorgeous resorts and, maybe one day, when my ship comes in, my lottery ticket wins,:woohoo: my long lost relative leaves me oodles of money,:cool2: we’ll stay there. Until then, I’ve decided that we need to go back again. Next time, we may be having dinner at one of them.

It was after 5:00 p.m., I know because that’s when John is supposed to take his medicine. I believe that it was closer to 6:00 p.m. because we had a dinner ADR at 8:40 p.m. and we felt the need to go ahead and start walking towards the front of the park instead of lingering in World Showcase.

This display is so pretty (would have been better had the boat not blocked party of the view):

This is where my memory gets fuzzy. I can’t remember if this was the day that I had another impromptu Dis meet or if it were on our second day at Epcot. We were looking around in the stores in the United Kingdom and another Diser recognized Hunter!:wave2: This was a Diser that I had talked to before and thought that our paths may cross but we weren’t sure. Again, my memory is fuzzy. We chatted for a few minutes and both moved on. No pictures....can you believe it?

I think that I am remembering that we stopped in Canada but I didn’t take any pictures for some reason. Again, this could be because we didn’t actually stop. I’m usually pretty good at taking at least one picture to remind myself where we were and when we were there.

I do know that we stopped in the stores at the end of the middle walkway that takes you back to Future World. They had a really neat penny press machine that looked different than others.

I don’t know when they changed up the stores but they are now “themed”. One sells merchandise from half of the countries around World Showcase and the other store sells merchandise from the other half of the countries. I guess they do that for people who: 1) don’t want to walk all the way to World Showcase at all, or; 2) forgot something and didn’t want to walk all the way back to World Showcase. Again, we didn’t find anything that caught our eye with the exception of a nice big wooden spoon that I was going to buy but forgot. Wish I had that spoon right now since I’ve been doing a lot of canning.

There were still a few of the Flower & Garden touches on display and they were gorgeous:

If only those grassy areas were splashed with various flowers and color all year long. I miss them when they are gone. A little further down, there was a soccer topiary display. There was a whole lotta soccer stuff for sale this trip.

Hum, I wonder what was up with this picture? Maybe I took it and didn’t realize it?

There was still a good bit of time left before we could check in for our dinner ADR so we decided to spend some time in the Living Seas or whatever the heck it’s called now. Just like Hollywood Studios will always be MGM, this will always been The Living Seas. :p

Before going into the Living Seas, there was something else that we wanted to see. It was the “cotton tree”. I don’t know if that’s what it actually is, and I'm pretty sure that it's not, but it looks like bolls of cotton growing on the tree. We have cotton that grows here but nothing like this tree. We walked towards the entrance of the restaurant and there it was.....the cotton tree. There were still some puffs on the tree:

Many had fallen into the plants below:

Annnnd, some had fallen onto the concrete. John and I are all into gardening and trying to grow new things. How about trying to grow a cotton tree? Just like the cotton bolls on the plants, the bolls had black seeds in the middle. We gathered up a few and I put them into a small bag that I had in my backsack. I almost titled this chapter “ This stuff is probably poisonous and we have it all over us!” because that’s exactly what we said. :crazy2:

There were some water fountains nearby and John wet his handkerchief (he carries one everywhere we go like a little old man) and we all wiped our hands and finished them off with hand sanitizer.

Mission accomplished, it was time to enter the Living Seas. There was no line and we wove in and around the bars and were soon boarding our clam mobiles. I tried taking pictures and these are the only three that were halfway decent:

**Continued in next post

After exiting our clam mobiles, we headed to the small tanks and it was a little crowded but not so crowded that you didn’t get a turn looking at the various marine life:

I remember when the tanks didn’t have the blue lighting and it was easier to take pictures. Maybe the new lighting is “mood” lighting. :lovestruc You know, lighting to get the various creatures to get it on and have babies. :lovestruc Whaaaat? Stop laughing at me. It could be why the lights are blue. ::yes::

There are so many creature hiding underneath or in crooks and crannies.

This big fat lipped hairy sucker wasn’t hiding. He actually looks like he was posing for the picture:

On the other hand, I could barely get a picture of this one because it would swim by so quickly. Be still!

Quite a few people had come into the room so we moved on so they could have our spots and we ventured towards the big windows and looked down and what did we see? GOOFY!

And MICKEY:

We had a great view of the rays and of the turtles but most pictures didn’t turn out worth a flip so I’m only posting a few:

The dolphins were harder to spot for some reason.

**Continued in next post

The upstairs manatee viewing area was roped off but we were able to see them from the downstairs windows and they were super active. As a matter of fact, I think that they had some mood lighting going on in the back or maybe lettuce is an aphrodisiac because they were doing a little bit of “tussling” a/k/a trying to do the hanky panky. ;) The kids kept saying how cute it was that they were hugging.

We watched the manatees for a little while and then went to the computer screens to do a bit of trivia. We had time to kill so why not test our sea life knowledge?

Once we were done, I made a stop in the bathroom and I met the cutest little kids you have ever seen in your life. Well, next to mine, of course, since a Mama’s supposed to say that. But, they really were adorable. There were two little boys and one was trying to prop the door open for his little brother and they were having a little bit of a hard time so I helped them. The mother was, apparently, in the bathroom with their other siblings. The mother came out with two girls and waited and waited for the little boys. We all talked for a little bit and the mother was wondering what was taking the boys so long. She finally opened the door a little and called their names. They came out a few minutes later tucking in their shirts and zipping their pants. When she asked them if they had washed their hands, they both said that they hadn’t. I offered some hand sanitizer to each of them and they kept saying how good it smelled and asked me my name. We talked some more and when they left, they all gave me hugs. It was so sweet! Love cute little kiddos!

**Up next: It’s simply too cute! What are you talking about? Dig in!

I just have to know if you've planted your "cotton seeds" yet??? :confused3

You know what? We actually forgot about them until about a week or two ago. We have a drawer that's nothing but seed packets and I saw them in the back. I need to pull them out and put them in pots.

They keep changing those two shops; it used to be that one of them was mainly a "Duffy" store.

I'm with you...love when Epcot is all decorated for F&G.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: only you, Lisa. They might be poisonous. :rotfl2: Now, we are all expecting you to plant these things and let us know what happens to them!

Glad you got your clam ride and got to spend time with all of the fish. I love watching the turtles.

I've seen that Mickey before, but never the Goofy.

Hanky Panky? That is a distinct possiblity with the blue lights. ;)

Oh my ! Will we see a baby manatee next time we go to Disney :rotfl:

From the way they were acting, I wouldn't be surprised. ;)

They keep changing those two shops; it used to be that one of them was mainly a "Duffy" store.

They always seem to be changing those stores. I didn't like the Duffy one at all but, then again, don't care about Duffy much anyway.

I'm with you...love when Epcot is all decorated for F&G.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: only you, Lisa. They might be poisonous. :rotfl2: Now, we are all expecting you to plant these things and let us know what happens to them!

Knowing my luck, they would be poisonous and I'm rubbing all other them like a fool.

Glad you got your clam ride and got to spend time with all of the fish. I love watching the turtles.

I've seen that Mickey before, but never the Goofy.

That's the first time that we had seen Goofy.

Hanky Panky? That is a distinct possiblity with the blue lights. ;)

Blue is the color of love...oh wait, that's red. :lmao:

I was going to ask too if you had a cotton tree yet!

I'm an update behind, so first, I love the pics of you and John. So cute!

Those resorts do look gorgeous. If we ever hit the jackpot though, I want to try Poly or Boardwalk.

And LOL about the bird poop Mickey! I'd love it if it really were bird poop that happened to land in the shape of Mickey. :)

Love your Seas with Nemo and Friends shots and the aquariums. I've never seen that Goofy either! The Mickey, yes, but not the Goofy. I'll have to look for him.

I love manatees. I've seen them in the wild and it is so cool!
