Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Sorry for the picture overload but it was so nice out.

You could see part of the old River Country water park. I wish that we had visited it before it closed down.

DSCF7504 (768x1024).jpg

This was on the opposite side of the boat on what used to be called Discovery Island (I think that was the name.)

Even though we arrived early, there were already quite a few people there milling around. A castmember approached us and told us that they were asking guests to start forming a line so they could start taking pictures. Some had chosen not to have the picture taken but I had purchased the Memory Maker so we had our's done. We made a potty stop before the show. Lots of people line up to get inside but we normally stand off to the side and then enter when it's less crowded. The tables are assigned so there's no real reason to rush in.

We had chosen the 8:30 p.m. show because, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can have Category 1 seating if you attend the later show. Seemed like a good trade-out to us. And, we were extremely pleased with our table. We were in the second row of tables by the stage.

Not long after being seated, the food started coming out! First were the salad and the cornbread and butter.

I really like the place settings:

Our server told Hunter Happy birthday and told him to make sure that he raised his hand when it came time to acknowledge birthdays. This boy needs no prompts and started practicing immediately.

He decided to move the birthday button to his hat:

The music started playing and the show began!

The guy with the drum was hilarious! I'm talking wipe tears from your eyes hilarious! After a skit or two, the main courses were served. Hunter decided to claim the fried chicken as his own.

Ribs were also brought to the table:

As were beans and corn and mashed potatoes but I don't have a picture of those:

As we were eating, the show resumed and it was time to celebrate the birthdays! The hilarious guy spotted Hunter's pin and came over to acknowledge his birthday to the entire crowd:

As did this pretty lady:

Later, they asked if anyone was celebrating anniversaries and hilarious guy said "THEY ARE!" and pointed to us:

Oops hand in my face.

At one point in the show, the comedian of the show snuggled up to one of the other performers and said "Do you want to build a snowman?" and the whole place laughed like crazy including John and I. This, despite the fact that we had not even seen the movie Frozen. He was just so darned cute and it was so spontaneous that it was funny.

**Okay, so the Dis is acting weird and slow. I'll stop here for now and see if it starts acting right in a bit.

I have to catch up on my responses from your last few updates!

Don't you just love POR! It is so beautiful... but now I am going to think nursing home when I see the mansions!

Sorry your Kona dinner was so drab, ours was right before yours (literally) and it was our best meal of the trip. We had a great waitress, which may have made a difference. BTW, don't forget you met me and Lorelai that night before dinner. :smooth:

Now I am chomping at the bit to take the Keys to the Kingdom tour! I still have 6 and 8 years to go with my kiddos.

We did HDDR a few nights later and we LOVED it as well. You got great seats! And the guy with the drum was the best. My kids laughed the entire show!

O my goodness! I have been reading your trip reports ( I am not a big comment-er on any threads) haha but we are from Louisiana too and will be in Disney may 23 as well!!!! I'll be sure to say hi if I see you! It would be my first dismeet!

I love that you take such detailed pictures of all the merch at CBR. Port Royale is such a cute area.

Nice beach day. I'm sure it was a blazing hot, but that beach looks beautiful. :thumbsup2

OMG - love all your pictures from the boat. What a lovely sunset and those waves look so cool. nice job!

And who doesn't love HDDR? It looks like you guys are having an absolute blast! ::yes::

Ahhhh.. sitting on that beach just sounds wonderful! And dinner at Hoop Dee Doo sounds like a lot of fun!

That food at HDR looks so yummy! And the show looks fun too. I just don't want to spring for 2 table credits, but I think we'll have to one day. Love your family picture from CBR! You all look lovely!

OMG -- we had the same actor when we went in November, and that line (plus the "it doesn't have to be a snowman" and "OK bye" were the poins when I amot DIED! Eating and laughing at the same time is NOT a good idea.

I may have said this before (I'm having Friday brain here) but we are doing Hoop Dee Doo on our first night there (5/30)! We are doing 830pm and sprung for Tier 1 since we're celebrating both of our birthdays on the trip, and our 10-year anniversary as a couple also occurs during the very same week! We will have pins all over us but I am a bit nervous to be pointed out if it happens. My boyfriend loves that stuff though so I think he'll have a blast! I did it as a little kid so it'll be fun to see it again as an adult.

He is extremely picky and although not a true vegetarian, eats that way most days so I notated the need for a vegetarian meal on our reservation. I am praying he likes it! That just means more chicken for me... Your pictures are great though, and it's making me even more excited!!

i was SO behind! only because i haven't touched a computer for 3 days! it was heaven. have to tell you how STUNNING your pictures were of your ride! i mean frame worthy beautiful! i adored walking the store with you~ i go ga ga over all Disney merchandise!!!! i need it all!!! NEED! especially the goofy candy co. and the WINE! YUM!

OK so we SHOULD to the hoop de doo revue~ ON IT!

Relaxing on a hammock sounds like the perfect afternoon activity on vacation. Because I live in FL, CBR hasn't ever drawn me in, but if I ever move away, I feel like I'll want to stay there for nostalgia's sake. So many spots to stop and relax...I bet it's hard for some people to leave the place and go into a park.

The Hoop Dee Doo Revue sounds like a lot of fun. And eating at 8:30 is completely worth it for Cat 1 seating.

Lisa, we are checking OUT of CBR on the 23rd when y'all are arriving! If I see ya, I'll holler and say hello. Or goodbye. Or, I don't know, something.

Mom and I did the KTTK tour last year and we loved it. It's funny because the only two complaints we had were the same exact ones you mentioned. Just a tiny bit too long and our food was cold. :rotfl:

CBR is just so pretty! I can't wait to stay there again someday.

I so love the HDDR! The food is wonderful, great show and how can you beat all you can drink sangria!

Loved all your photos and your humorous trip report, as usual. We are thinking of going to CBR next trip. We stayed there years ago. What building do you like best? Don't want to pay for preferred if we don't have to. BTW have a great vaca in a couple of weeks.

Oops, got a few updates behind! I'll comment on all 3!

As you know, I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour too and I agree with you about the ending being too slow. It felt like everything else moved along and then at the end I was just standing there while she said the same things over and over. But it certainly didn't spoil it for me!

I have seen all of the CBR stuff, but I'm impressed but how much you got pictures of!!

Hoop Dee Doo is definitely on our list for the next trip, whenever that may be! That food looks so delicious and you got some great pictures!

Oh, and we loved breakfast at Kona, so I wouldn't worry there. Our waiter wasn't the best, but he wasn't horrible either, just sort of inattentive. But the food was delicious!

I remember meeting you and Lorelai now! That was the night that she had to tinkle so badly and it was cold as heck in the building.

The Hoop is our favorite dinner show at Walt Disney World! We thought about doing it again this next trip.

Thanks for commenting! For real?!?! Ya'll will be there at the same time? That's really cool. Be sure to stop us if you see us.

It was hot that day but it sure did feel nice to sit there and enjoy it all.

Thanks on the compliment on the picture. I loved the view.

I wish that I were there right now Darla!

We usually save our table service credit on the night that we arrive and combine it with another night so that we can do a dinner show. That way, it doesn't feel like we are using two.

What a great first time meal! They do ask if there are any celebrations and we pointed Hunter out to the castmembers. (as if they couldn't see the button on his hat) You could always see if you can sneak by without being noticed.

I know that Heaven feeling of being away from the computer but then you feel so far behind. Thank you for the compliment on the pictures. The night was so beautiful!

I had hoped to get more Hoop Dee Doo Revue done today but then it got busy at work. Darn work!

I just looks like so much fun! May have to check that out for our next trip!

It IS fun and definitely worth checking out.

WE LOVE hoop dee doo. We need to get back again soon.

We do too! Corny jokes and all.

How are you feeling? Good, I hope.

See, that's one of the reasons that we have never stayed at Port Orleans. It feels too much like home.

Lisa, we are checking OUT of CBR on the 23rd when y'all are arriving! If I see ya, I'll holler and say hello. Or goodbye. Or, I don't know, something.

Please do holler if you see us and tell us hey or bye or heybye
