Hi all,

My DD12 is going to be dancing with her Competetive Dance Team at Downtown Disney on July 1st with the Disney Performing Arts program.

She will be participating in a Dance Workshop early am on July 1st backstage at Epcot and then they perform at 6:30pm at the stage at Downtown Disney. The next morning they are doing another workshop at the old Disney Institute at Saratoga Springs.

Has anyone had experience with this? I am a Disney veteran, but Disney has not given us too much info on what to expect? We have a bus booked to take the dancers backtstage on July 1st, but there has been no mention as to how we should get the girls to Saratoga Springs the next day. Any suggestions?

What else should I expect?

Sorry, I don't have any experience, just wanted to say congrats! Maybe more info will be coming closer to July. It's still pretty far away. But if they don't provide transportation, you can always get a park bus to SSR, or from DTD.
Congrats to your daughter.

Congrats to your daughter.

Thanks so much!! The studio owner has been to WDW (stayed offsite) and doesn't seem to understand that there will not be a bus from the All Star Movies to Saratoga Springs. She insists that she read that there are busses anywhere you want to go from the resorts...I am desperately trying to explain to her that it means to any PARK. :listen: You can't take busses from one resort to another! They need to be there for 8:30am, so I am going to try again to try to get her to rethink the transportation issue for that day.

Good luck. It's a good thing owner has you to explain how things run!!

My Daughter (13) just did this exact dance experience this past March Break - she loved it! Our team had a Disney bus dedicated to picking up and dropping off the team. In fact we had no choice and the dancers had to take that bus to and from all performances and workshops. It was only for the dancers and coach (owner). Parents were not allowed on the bus. If people are staying in different hotels they had to drop their dancers off at the one designated site.
The day they performed at DD they had to leave almost two hours early and then after the performance they were not allowed to speak to the parents until they were off the stage and in a specific area. Even then we could only speak to them for about 1minute before they had to board the bus and be taken back to the designated spot where we could then pick them up. They were not allowed to join us at DD till after they took the bus back to the resort and we picked them up.
If they are doing the audition workshop (ours was for Mary Poppins) parents are allowed to go and watch I believe the last 20 minutes. My daughter was lucky and was selected for one of the characters at the audition.
If you have more questions I would be happy to answer them., It truly was a Magical experience for my daughter!

Thank you so much for your input! We are leaving May 2 for the same type trip with my 13 yr old DD's dance school. We have 25 girls going. We've been to Disney and stayed onsite 3 times now as a family. This is the first trip I haven't had to totally plan out and it's a little scary not knowing EVERY detail of our daily plans! Reading this makes me feel better!:cool1:
