Disney Cuts After Hours Event Price for Passholders

Sorry, AP holders don't need to buy a ticket to enter MK during regular park hours. If you're an AP holder, the value is quite a bit lower than for guests who don't have a ticket for that day.

Also, Disney doesn't give ticket refunds or allow no expire tickets anymore. Most guests now buy tickets ahead of the fastpass booking window. Anyone with a onsite package paid their balance at the 45 day mark.

In other words, most of the folks who might buy this, already have PREPAID plans for that day.

This doesn't sound like smart marketing to me. This sounds like a desperate last ditch effort to increase short-term revenue.

Again I'll say, this was a great event when it only cost $10. The current price is a bit obscene.

I guess Disney found the sweet spot in pricing to win over many of the AP and DVC naysayers.

Did someone just say a few days ago that they had found the sweet spot at $149?

Why? If the first event (not sure about the 2nd) had all tickets distributed why would it be more crowded? While they didn't necessarily sell every ticket the first night between the sold ones and the given away ones it was my understanding all tickets available were gone

But they never said how many "sold out" was. It could have been less for the first night, a little more for the second night and it could be even more with this discount in place.

There is a reason Disney never gives a firm number for capacity in these events.

The vast majority of folks visiting in the next month have already paid for most or all they have planned, and it is non-refundable at this point.

Guests who prepaid (DDP) and stayed up until midnight to book a big dinner at Cali Grill with a Wishes view are unlikely to walk away from all that $$ and effort.

It doesn't sound to me like Disney marketing has thought through all the disadvantages of locking guests into prepaid plans if they are releasing this new program so close to travel dates.

Pretty sure those 5 nights are all there are at this time.

Guess we know that from Disney's perspective they hadn't hit the "Sweet Spot" that some were claiming when this was first announced. I think IF they bring this back it will be something like $99 per person and $75 for AP holders. They might also tweak which rides are available.

I think it is still $149 for non AP or DVC guests. From what I've seen anyway.

Completely agree. This means the original offer did not yield anywhere near the result they expected.

I hope so too. Honestly, how could they not?

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at some of those management meetings when they realized this wasn't selling at the announced price.

Disney looks like they have no idea on what they are doing here...last minute notice, free to DVC, then discounts to AP and DVC'rs. What's next?

I just don't understand why sooooo many people want this to fail. Honestly, I don't get it.

I'm in the minority, I realize that, but I'm hoping it gets offered next year as well. Or sometime when I can be there anyway..

I think most posters are talking about the reasons behind Disney offering a 50% discount to the AP and DVC members. Just because some are talking about Disney taking this action might mean that they didn't get the results that they were looking for doesn't mean they want it to fail. We can discuss things Disney does and talk about the pro and cons without meaning we hate everything about Disney.
