Disney Cuts After Hours Event Price for Passholders

Well, since they have extended the event past the original dates into June, I don't think this is the case. I think they adjusted the AP cost to not penalize them for having an AP. Technically, an AP holder has already paid for the first three hours of these events; charging them full price would cause them to double pay for the hours when the park is already open. To me, this adjustment just makes sense. (It would be different if you had to have a park ticket in addition to the event, but you don't.)

Where do you see it extended into June? Tha last date I can find is Thursday May 19th. I'm not trying to be a stickler for details pain in the behind, but the night I want thursday May 26 (which is the story of my life, day late dollar short) so I would love to see it extended into June.

It's the morning event that goes through June. DAH currently has through May 19. Both of those sets of dates are the initial release-neither has been extended yet.

Just got off the phone. For those that wonder, yes, if you have already bought tickets for a future date you can get a refund.
I tried calling the PASS number but it sent me to the wrong ticketing folks. She gave me the number to ticketing guest services and they got it done very quickly.

Can anyone confirm if the passholder can buy extra tickets at this price? I'm a passholder but my DH is not, and we have friends visiting at the same time as we are that are only doing universal. I'd like to buy the 3 of them tickets with me for this price. I'll be with them to pick them up.

I just called and booked 2 discounted tickets with my AP (using the passholder phone #) and while the ticket agent only accessed my info she said to make sure my husband also brought his AP card with him to will call to pick his up-not sure if that will truly be enforced but that is what I was told.

As far as DVC goes you might need to call member services to purchase. I called before member services opened at 9 so I called the AP #. I told the lady when I called we were both DVC and AP and she said she could only book with my AP discount-but maybe she gave me incorrect info.
I would assume DVC members would be able to purchase more than 1 ticket via dvc member services since minor children can't be owners and usually DVC can purchase like up to 4-8 tickets with a discount (based on prior discounts).

Has anyone been able to book this via DVC?

Just dawned on me that I was able to purchase Club Villain tickets with my discount for people who were not AP holders. I'd think this would be the same but the one difference is you need to pick up tickets for this but for Club Villain you didn't. You just checked in like they do with Dessert Parties.

I bought tickets for May 5th yesterday at the AP rate. I needed to do some mental gymnastics to justify buying since I'm dead opposed to these types of separate ticket events. Pretty sure the end game here for Disney is to get people to pay twice per day for park entry. It's all part of the get less for more mentality that has been ushered into the upper ranks of Disney management.

Clearly this DAH has been an experiment to see exactly how much people are willing to pay to be in the parks. They are using it to set the prices for MNSSHP and the MVMCP. You will continue to see an erosion of regular paying guest benefits as well as continued decline in the amount of park hours (EMH and regular) being offered. Me buying into this event is only exacerbating the problem and for that I'm sorry.

Simply put, this is my last trip to WDW for years to come, so I was willing to part with some extra money. I would not have done it at the $149 price, but half off was enough incentive.

I finally stopped laughing about this...and now I can process it. Like lugnut33 above, I too am opposed to these add-ons for the most part. No need to rehash why. It is what it is in my gut. While I STILL find it hilarious that they are, in sheer desperation, discounting the tix by HALF for DVC and AP holders, I am also a realist as far as price is concerned. This is the price they should have set it for EVERYONE to start with...and I think it would have sold out each and every time. Heck, we're even considering it on our arrival day May 12th (which is going to be our only MK day when we get in around 4pm...actually would have been a good fit. But my disdain for add ons may win out and we'll save the cash for other things).

Somewhere, a Disney executive is sweating bullets and afraid to answer is office phone...

Had the same experience (before I read your post) and same outcome. Refund for the difference has been issued...no problem.

While I'm happy with getting something like $78 back, from a strictly greedy point-of-view I was hoping for a super low attended event. This deal will guarantee a larger audience.

Hope when they lowered the price for Annual Pass holders, they didn't raise the cap on maximum ticket sales too.

While I'm happy with getting something like $78 back, from a strictly greedy point-of-view I was hoping for a super low attended event. This deal will guarantee a larger audience.

As long as they didn't raise the attendance limit I don't think it will be an issue. The first one was "sold out" even if some were given away and it was still quite empty in the park.

Seeing as before the discount they were only selling 300-500 tickets for each event, I doubt it. They are just trying to sell the other couple thousand. The ticket promises low waits, so if you do wait more than 10-15 minutes, I think you have grounds to request a refund or some sort of renumeration.

OOOPS I'm pregnant, so I have an excuse for having $99 in my head, right? That's still killer for AP holders. I hope the people this targets enjoy the event.

I think they should offer a discount to anyone who already has a ticket for the park purchased. I don't have an issue with the $150 price for people who will use this as their park ticket, but for those who want to experience DAH after being in the park all day should not have to spend another $150 to do it.

You have a very valid point. Hadn't viewed it that way but yes, they should come up with some way for those already there to go at a discount.
Maybe hold some back and offer it inside the park at a discounted rate for any there that day that want to stay?

I really think the experiences going forward will be hugely different than the first two nights this was offered. I expect to see big lines at ice cream carts and at attractions with low hourly feed rates.

Why? If the first event (not sure about the 2nd) had all tickets distributed why would it be more crowded? While they didn't necessarily sell every ticket the first night between the sold ones and the given away ones it was my understanding all tickets available were gone

I guess Disney found the sweet spot in pricing to win over many of the AP and DVC naysayers.
