Disney Cuts After Hours Event Price for Passholders

I can't imagine that would be the case A October is already 40% party nights, plus an occasional EMH - there's nowhere to go with DAH. (Unless bloggers and many on this site are wrong and free EMH go away)

Agreed. In October, MK will only be open late 3 nights a week. Adding extra hard ticket events could really mess things up. I also think DAH will be a hard sell if it costs the same or more than MNSSHP.

A girl can dream. Right now, nobody knows what will be happening with the event. DAH doesn't change a thing for regular ticket guests so it really doesn't hurt anything to carry it year round, even in party season. They would just have to avoid party night, which would be easy enough.

What it would change is that in the past, all but one or two non-party nights are open late (11pm or later) so a DAH night, if starting at 10, would be a departure from the longer hours fall guests usually get.

I think some of these initial dates do start at 11 instead of 10, though, don't they? If it ran 11-2 in fall, it wouldn't cut any regular hours and it would provide a lower-crowd, ride-only late night for interested guests. You've got a long wait to find out!

No skin off my back if they don't extend it. I'm not going to lose any sleep, but I will do it if it's still available. I would try for it on my upcoming June trip, but 3 in my party won't have APs

Wonder if an AP holder can buy at the good rate for the whole party?

I'd consider at least thinking about going at that price, if I even had an AP. My thought was this is not selling out as quickly as Disney hoped, so instead of firing people and canceling the event (bad publicity), they're doing what they can to fill it up.

This was my thought as well.

It's not uncommon for 1 person in a party to have an AP for free parking, discounts on food and merch, etc. I don't see why an AP holder couldn't get a few tickets. They didn't ask for my daughters info when I ordered today. I'm the one that needs to pick them up so they are forcing the AP holder to at least go to will call.

Ok, hold on. Am I still missing something? I agree that $75 is much better than $149 but....aren't we still just talking about 3 hours with 4 rides and a snack? Will there be shows? Entertainment? Extra fireworks? A parade? Individual character attention? What would people do for 3 hours?

That's what I was thinking. Sometimes a family only gets the one AP because they only need one parking entitle, net and one Photopass entitlement, but wasn't sure if they would only get one discounted ticket or could get them for their whole (regular ol' ticket holding) family.

Not 4 rides...closer to 25. You could hot-lap rides like a boss.

It's almost the entire place (26 attractions), and all you can eat ice cream + soft drinks/water... The website is horrible, it's not 5 things as it reads... Also you get in at 7pm but regular day visitors don't leave until 10 or 11 (depending on what night you go). then you get 3 hours of nobody around to enjoy the place like you own it.

the snack and drinks really don't matter but it was a nice touch and handy to stay hydrated.

Oh ok, thank you for the clarification! That does make more sense!

Keep dreaming..I am too!! We don't go until December..which I highly doubt DAH will be offered then..but I'm still secretly hoping!!

I picked up 2 more tickets for MAy 19th...

Some info since it's a long hold:
- you can't get money back from a previous ticket as the deal only came out today..
- it's will call only, you need to show your passholder card and id to pick them up.
- you can pick them up early if you happy to be at the parks prior.
- on 4/21 I used will call when ordering online, they appeared in MDE and I was able to just scan a magicband at the entrance to get in.
- you can link the phone tickets to your mde via the confirmation number and assign them to people so you can probably skip the will call line.
So were you trying to get a refund on the ticket you already used or one you already purchased but haven't used yet?

Stands to reason: Disney is becoming a la carte. That said, I could live with AP holders getting a discount, or free tickets going to CMs. Just not free tickets to the masses while I'm paying full price.
Still wouldn't pay full price though. Too high.
