Ok so I'm thinking about a Disney cruise in feb/march time for 2014 not 100% sure yet as my partner may have other ideas, but basically I looked and its more than affordable for us both we could have it booked and paid for by October time, its 14 nights, balcony room, can't remember exactly how many days were on the ship but basically some of the 14 days were spent staying at Disney world! Which would be very exciting :-)

I now need to try and persuade my boyfriend to do it :-) so I need you lot to big it up for me! (Only kidding) be honest let me know how it is? Pros & cons etc.

Its that or we may do a European cruise in the summer 2014 or maybe even a week in Disney world around November time 2014...... Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Although I've never been on one, I've only heard great things about the cruises!

I've done 2 and LOVED them both and can't wait to do my 3rd. Great food and shows and staff.

We will be taking our 6th Disney Cruise next year:goodvibes. We have done a 3 day 2 x 4 day 5 day 7 day and will be doing a 14 day translantic next year ...we love it and have cruised as a family and also have cruised just hubbie and me go for it you won't be dissapointed. Only thing I would say is to book with an American Travel agent they in our opinion are far better than booking in the uk Good luck

Having just spent a week on the Fantasy then a week at wdw, I can say that the cruise really spoilt wdw for us!

The service and standard of things on the cruise line is so much higher than wdw it's not even funny!

Ok they're expensive but I think it will become out preferred holiday from now on at least for the time being...

Definitely agree with that! They are addictive, we have our 6th booked for Sept and a 7th for next May.

We have done a few 3night cruises, and 2 7 night cruises. The only negative I have is that they made me get off the boat :)

I agree with this too. Not sure what package you have looked at but in my experience it has always been cheaper to book each component separately (flight, wdw and cruise) as you get a better deal. I always book my cruises with dreams unlimited travel as although they may not get a cheaper price they offer onboard credit.

I wish the OP hadnt asked- everyone saying how great they are, im so jealous :rotfl:

Been wanting to do a Disney cruise for years and although Ive finally managed to talk my husband into doing one- Its still a long way off. :)

I can't praise the cruises enough, they really do put the customer service at the parks and resorts to shame. I love everything about them from seeing new places, the food, the entertainment and the attention to detail. They are expensive but to me they are worth it. Now I just need to decide where to go on the next one.

I am a gold going into platinum member on my 10th cruise in august always do it at the start of the holiday. Pose our questions and I am happy to answer. Bear in mind its not cheap you can cruise much cheaper though you wont get the level of customer service or entertainment, Food in main dining rooms is on a par with othr lines Like princess basically I would say 3 - 4 star it is variable but Palo and Remy are outstanding. Also bear in mind pools on the new ships cant take t5he capacity in aprticular the adult pools are a nnsense. The other thing for me is that I prefr the size onf the classic ships the new ships are far too biG1 Doesnt stop me going though

... mmmm? .... uh? .... ah? ...

No - try as I might, I can't come up with any cons, not one.:thumbsup2 I

Excellent, our children preferred the cruise to the land on our last holiday . Loved it all!

Price is the only one...

Just going to post that myself.
Done 6 Disney Cruises and 2 RCCL, enjoyed both cruiselines.
I preferred the Magic or Wonder over the Dream, a few things I didn't like on the Dream like nowhere to sit as a family in the evenings, too overcrowded at Pirate nights, people getting irate going up and down the stairs and people standing on them.
Yes they are the best cruiseline to sail on with a family but they have priced me out for August sailings. I would only sail out of season or with a Cast member to get their discount now.

See I much preferred the Fantasy to either of the classic ships, and actually found the cruise to be less 'crowded' feeling even though it was a fully sold out cruise.

Have they managed to alleviate the problems the Dream had with the Fantasy even though they are structurally the same?

Already started looking at the next cruise to transfer our dummy booking to, though like you say they are more expensive in August (23rd August 2014 is the cheapest in that summer holidays but it's cutting it too close to back to work - the main reason why I'm not keen on doing Easter again)!

Glad there are so many positives we are contemplating so many different options! We don't drive so there is always that issue but with Disney you have the use of their transport so it shouldn't be a problem unless of course there is no way to get to the cruise from the hotel? As the cruise we were looking at is a week at Disney then a week on the cruise.

As well as looking at the cruise we were also thinking 7-9 nights at Disney for Christmas next year (but november time so we see the christmas dec's and shows but skip the crowds) as it looks absolutely amazing!

We just can't choose, we have even said maybe go in October for the Halloween celebrations!

Sooooooooo many choices that we cannot decide!

If you go at the very end of October and are there for the beginning of November you can get both Halloween and Christmas!
As soon as the last Halloween Party takes place (there is usually one on October 31st and November 1st) they quickly switch the decor and the first Christmas Party is usually a week (or less later)
So on a two week trip you can do both :goodvibes
