Disney Cruise - Military Discount Question

Hello!

Forgive me if this is not the right place to post this question. We have never been on a Disney Cruise and are looking to go for our honeymoon, and we really want to take advantage of the awesome military discount!

When I looked on the military specials, it advertises a 4 night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral on April 11th, but when I go to book, that date isn't available. I've called DCL twice and gotten two very different answers. One CM told me that date is totally sold out on the military rate. When I called back to confirm, another CM told me that they don't release all of their military rooms at once (only every Monday) and that I should check back next Monday because more rooms will likely be released.

Can anyone who has sailed on the military rate confirm (or deny) any of the above information? I am just so confused!

Thanks!

I think both responses are correct. Military rates are not released very far in advance. They also are not release for every cruise, only specific cruises and only specific categories. And there are a limited number of staterooms available at the discounted rate. Whether more staterooms would be released on that specific cruise is really a bit of a toss-up.

You can keep waiting to see if the MIL rate opens up more for that specific cruise, or watch for a different date, or decide if you are able to cruise with a different rate -- there may be IGT/OGT/VGT rates available or coming for that date.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

Hmm, are you trying to book via the website and none of the rooms have the little dollar symbol after selecting? We've done multiple MTO cruises and I've always booked via the website. I select the cruise then I'm offered a stateroom class choice - many of which are NOT military discounted. I have to select the one with the little dollar sign indicating the MIL discount.

If that doesn't make sense, reply and I'll try better :D. Also, don't forget your CAC card - they ask to see it at check in. One time, I had to turn around to go home to get mine. Luckily we were only 20 minutes from the house when my wife yelled, "Your CAC!" Much swearing and a u-turn quickly occurred. I"m a sailor...whaddya gonna do

More like that particular date shows on the advertised military special page and then when I click “book now” every single military option pops up EXCEPT for that date! I can book it without the military rate, but it does not show as available under the military rate. The CM I spoke to said it was just released as an option literally this past Monday (1/3) so she thinks they haven’t released all the available rooms for that sailing yet.
Yes! The CAC card. We went through heck trying to get that thing (FOUR trips to the base!!) so I told my hubby that it better be glued to his pocket when we go :rotfl2:
