Disney Cruise Line Provides Update on Lighthouse Point

Interesting! I had no idea they were thinking of creating a second private stop.

Yes, it's been announced (and in process) for a while. Joe Rohde was originally in change and his concept drawings were much better than what it looks like now. So sad they seem to have scrapped a lot of his plans. :( It looked much more natural than this which looks like circus tents all over.

The original plans looked boring to me.

Hasn't been a recent update. Wonder what the projected completion date is for Lighthouse Point? I'm assuming that they would want it completed in time for the sailing of the Treasure.

From what I've read, it's still going to be open to the public as well. I have nothing against the people of the Bahamas but it loses that private island quiet, uncrowded feel compared to Nassau. We'll see.

On another thread, we were talking about our one Wish for DCL; the topic came around to more thrills at Castaway Cay. And if not there, then perhaps at Lighthouse Point.

Here are some drawings / plans for the development.

It looks fairly low-key. I see a kid’s splash pad and a small pool (perhaps a Concierge area?)

They are expecting to use solar power for 90% of electrical needs.

r.e. - bold A low-key Cruise Line's Island is Ocean Cay that includes an isolated *Concierge Area* Since the Island is a *MARINE RESERVE* any massive development is prohibited. In our opinion -- Wonderfully BORING:teeth:
