Disney Cruise line lanyards

Are Disney still giving out lanyards? We last cruised in October and they were at that stage.

In March, on the Dream, it was still the new/big ones. It's a bit "too much" for me but I could see how kids would like them better.

We prefer the old ones too.
I wasnt sure if we would have to buy Magic bands. We actually prefer the lanyards to the Magic bands.

We bought the newer + bands, whatever they're called now. It did function to open the doors. For a 5 nt cruise, we didn't bother charging it and the doors still opened. We have about 20 old-style bands from past resort visits that just collect dust now.
I think it was part of the plan. If you don't want to feel like Flavor Flav with a big thing around your neck, you'll buy the new bands.

Me too! I refused to wear them in the parks, even when they used to be free. I'm definitely not paying for one.
