Been trying to collect since European 11day July ‘22 cruise cancelled due to my catching Covid on flight to Europe. Hotel, food, travel for 3 required to quarantine was not coverage - only $500 trip delay per person. Long holds; no insurance claims rep; no help from Disney. I provided documentation as required.

Stupid question, but did you read through everything in the insurance policy to make sure it explicitly covered COVID related issues? Not all of them do.

AON doesn't have a claims adjuster? What country was the quarantine?

Insurance purchased through Disney Cruise Line will cover only elements of the trip booked through DCL. If you did not book the flights and hotel through Disney, those costs won’t be covered. For the actual cruise, if insurance rejects your claim and does not reimburse you, you should be able to get a credit for 75% of the cost for use on another cruise within the next year.

DO NOT BUY AON TRAVEL INSURANCE! I bought my travel insurance through Disney Cruise Line and they have denied ALL of my claim. I got sick in Vancouver and had to fly back home the day before getting on the Wonder. I have recieved no explanation from AON as to why they have denied my claim. Also, if your airfare and hotel only covered if you booked it through DCL, which I understand. I got sick and was uable to go on the cruise, flew back the next day after flying into Vancouver. I have written to them 4 times and called at least 10 times asking what is the reason for denying my claim and they keep telling me it's "not denied." If it's not denied, why are they emailing me stating a check for $210.00 for canceled fees is being mailed to me! BEWARE, THIS IS AN AWFUL INSURANCE COMPANY! PLEASE GOOGLE THE REVIEWS FOR THIS COMPANY BEFORE YOU PURCHASE IT, THEY ARE AWFUL! I thought Disney only dealt with the best companies, but NOT in this case! There are many top rated travel insurance companies out there, please do your homework before purchasing AON travel insurance! I have now handed this case over to our attorney so she can take care of it for me, as I would rather pay her than lose the money to AON!

If you are getting reimbursed for cancellation fees, then it seems the claim is approved, at least in part. Look carefully at the statement that should come with the check. If it does say that the remainder of the claim is denied, you can send it to Disney Cruise and get a credit for 75% of the unreimbursed cost to use on a cruise in the next year.

When I cancelled a cruise due to a medical issue some years ago (with the company Disney used before Aon), it took several months to submit all of the paperwork showing that I cancelled on the advice of my doctor and that my condition was first diagnosed after I purchased the insurance.

Sorry, I'm confused. Did they deny all of the claim? or are they sending you a check for cancellation fees?

I'm not sure what you have requested for reimbursement, but if you didn't book air and pre-cruise hotel through DCL then as far as insurance is concerned your "trip" didn't start until embarkation day. Any return flight and expenses prior to that would not be covered. Did you see a medical professional who told you not to cruise? I believe that would be required for insurance to cover the cancellation due to pre-cruise illness.

Sorry this has been such a challenge for you.

It is not a scam, it just does not cover that. Yes it is not the best insurance, but is also not sold as a cover all policy either. It covers the DCL portion of your trip, anything else is a bonus. If you want coverage from door to door, only 3rd party policies do that. Sorry this happened, but I bet if you look at the actual insurance certificate, they are paying what it says it will, which is why you have 3 days after the issuance of most polices to cancel and get your money back.
