Is anyone here into pin trading??? :confused3

My last cruise there were a few of us who meet up on a sea day and had our own pin trading meet. Plus they had one with the crew one evening.

If anyone is interested please let me know and I will set a meet for us.

We got our too, #10114. Got a really bad review on here, so I am just hoping it will be ok.

Glad you got your room number too. I just read the review on it. I know the shio isnt full so if it turns out to be noisy just go to Guest services and ask for another room as soon as you get into your room. Hopefully they will have the same category available. Do it before you even unpack.

You can even call DCL now and tell then that you have read that is a noisy room and want to change rooms. If they give you a hard time dont argue just ask for a supervisor and tell them you need a different room and why. Be firm!!

We did this once and got changed.

Kathy

Thanks Kathy.

The room is actually quite an upgrade from the one we booked, so I think we are going to keep it and keep our fingers crossed. We take a noise maker for the kids when we travel, so hopefully that will drown out the noise.

I see we are only a couple of doors down from you :wave2:

Yes we are close to each other. Same category room too. I'm sure once we meet so we know what we look like we will run into each other a few times in the hallway or elevator area.:goodvibes

Our room had a 2 good reviews.

Maybe when the people went to the room you have their was a mechanical problem that was causing the noise? If so, of course would be fixed by now.
Its amazing how many little problems they get that have to fix all the time on ships and sometimes it can really be loud in some rooms until fixed. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed it will be an awesome room for you!!

Ok, here is another question for the day:

What are you looking forward to the most on this cruise?

My answer:

Just seeing a new ship we have never been on before and meeting new people.

Ok, now it's your turn to answer.

Yesterday I made a countdown chain for this cruise.

I hung it up in the family room and eachmorning I will pull off one ring and when I get down to #1 we will be on our way to the port.:dance3:

I'm going to make on for our cruise next November too but I want to start it the middle of next month. So it will be extremely long and probably wrap around the family room a couple of times. :goodvibes

Usually its a fun project to do with grandkids ( or your kids) to help pass time until the cruise but this time it's just for me to enjoy.

Anybody else make a countdown chain for your family??

I'm looking forward to going on the Aqua Duck. Has anyone ever gone on it?:listen:

BTW, where do you find cabin reviews? :surfweb:

My question of the day: Where were you born? I was born in St Louis, MO :cutie: & my DH was born in Brooklyn, NY :joker:

princess: Leah

Where were you born?

Both DW and I born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT. Relocated to Tallahassee, FL two and a half years ago when I took a new job. FYI, we absolutely love Florida; no snow and only have to wear a jacket about 2 weeks a year!

We were both born in Portland Oregon.

Hubby rode the aqua duck last November on the Fantasy. I didn't ride on it.
He loved it. They wouldnt let single riders on the first couple days. 3 different crew members had 3 stories why single riders couldnt ride. All were ridiculious. I was going to go to Guest Services and ask what was going on because NO where on line or in the Navigators or by the ride does it say No single riders.

I got side tracked that day but the next day I looked up and saw about 5 single riders in about a 10 minute time period. I told Greg to get up there and go on it and I would watch his shirt and hat so he did and he went right up and rode it.
About a 10 minute wait.

Someone told me they called guest services when they were refused and they said there was no restrictions that day for single riders.

So I think they are afraid if they let everyone ride single the line would be way too long, plus you would have to have an age limit for safety. But there are lots of people who want to ride but dont have someone to ride with them.

So if you try to ride single dont let them bluff you. There are no signs saying no single riders anywhere. One CM told Greg that it wasnt safe for a signle rider due to the wind. Well you're in a tube so you dont get hit by the wind. One tiny spot has canvas where some wind could come through but one adult man can weigh more than 2 single riders if one is a kid and a small adult.

It didnt make sense. He asked if any single riders had ever flipped over and he said oh yes lots of them. Well if people were flipping over all the time Disney would have to redesign it or someone could get hurt. Plus we would have heard about it on the boards.

I did hear that one time someone did flip over and got stuck on the first turn but in order to do that he must of been trying to flip himself over. In my opinion.

Anyway on a short cruise the lines may get long so try late in the evening. We found during the time people were at dinner and at the show it was a very short line and worth missing part of a show to try it with no line.

Also first thing in the morning when it opens up the line isnt too bad, especially if its running on Castaway Cay day when most everyone is off the ship.

Plus the day he rode it with other single riders going too it was one of the windest days we had on board that trip. So their excuses didnt make sense.
