so excited we are taking the Disney Magic out of New York for Thanksgiving week. In addition to Marvel Day at sea, the cruise will be stopping at Port Canaveral on Thanksgiving Day and included with the cruise is a day hopper at WDW. according to the itinerary it will port at Port Canaveral at 7:00am and there will be transportation to WDW. The ship is set to leave Port Canaveral at 11:58 PM. Curious how this whole day works? Has anyone had a day at WDW in middle of cruise? Do they have buses lined up in am? Is it organized? What about returning to ship? How does that work? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Yes there a buses from the time the ship is cleared. You select a park/time you will be departing the ship. However, I've read that it's not set in stone, you can change your mind.

From what I've read the buses basically run on a loop from ship to parks and back all day, with the last bus of the day being after the latest park closing (from that park only). You can take whatever bus you want back to the ship from whatever park you want.

Is it an issue getting right off at 7:00? Are there limited buses? Do u have to sign up for a specific time?

Log into your cruise resevation. Under activities you will will click on port adventure for your day at DW. That is the area where you pick your bus departure time for the first park you want to visit that day.

years ago we had to sign up for a particular time but it was just a matter of getting off the ship and when a bus was full it left. Coming back it was a continuous loop

I'm on the same cruise from New York the week before Thanksgiving. When I completed my online checkin I selected the departure time for WDW. The departure choices started at 7:15 am and every 15 minutes until 9:00 am. And you select which of the 4 parks you want to go to. We receive park hoppers so you can go to other parks on your own during the day. You don't select a return time or park. This is under Excursions for that port day. I noticed that the earliest departure time of 7:15 for Magic Kingdom has already filled up so if you haven't already made your choice yo should do that soon.

I can't wait. I'm excited to have Castaway Cay and WDW for our ports!

Have you looked into what times the parks close that day or what time the last bus back is?

When you do the day at WDW does that also include your meals there or do you have to buy those separately or can you add the meal plan on for the day when you book your cruise?

We'll be at WDW on Nov 15th for the Nov 11th cruise and the hours at Magic Kingdom are 9am - 9pm, at least for now. I scheduled the 7:30 departure and with the fireworks at 9 pm it should be a full day.

And no, meals are not included. Just a park hopper ticket (that can only be used on that day), bus transportation, and 3 fast passes loaded on your KTTWC.

@KarenMom we are on this same cruise. Not sure if you noticed, but MK has extra magic hours from 9-11pm.

Can anyone clarify hour this works? It says all aboard at 11:59, but I'm not sure leaving MK at 11 will get us back on time. Called, and got the "hour after closing" but they also didn't clarify the EMH situation.

It would be awesome if we could take some advantage of the EMH. In past years, the park has been empty and we have gotten to really get on a lot of extra rides. Think leaving 10:30 would be safe???

Can't wait!!!! 3rd cruise, both previous on the fantasy. We are back on the fantasy in June, but can't wait to experience another ship. This itinerary is awesome. And being from Philly, departing out of NY is great.

Thanks in advance for the help, and if I hear anything else I will post it

I don't know that cruise passengers are eligible for EMH. Those are usually reserved for on-WDW-property guests, and I don't know that cruise passengers qualify.

We're from the Phila area, too! So beyond excited for this cruise (except ours is in 2018). I am wondering how late we'll be able to stay in the parks as well. I also noticed that DCL says for the bus ride, allow 90 min. Guess it depends on the hours that day. I'll be interested to see how the 2017s are handled. It'll be amazing no matter what!

Just logged in this morning and booked 7:15 bus to MK. don't know why it showed you as booked?

No meals are not included at WDW. Just the park hopper

Do you know if you need to choose fasrpasses or can just use them for whatever rides you want?

I read 3 anytime fastpasses will be loaded onto everyone's KTTW card, no need to pick ahead of time. (New avatar and pandora attractions are excluded).
