Disney Cruise cancelation - Concierge

I've tried to make sense of what I've read, but I am easily confused! On Disney cruises, I understand that Concierge deposits are non refundable, but if I decide to move to, say the week after or the week before my Concierge cruise booking (if we can't all get the time off work we need), can we apply the paid deposit to that other booking or do we lose it outright? I hope that makes sense: I am trying to establish if a Concierge deposit can be "salvaged" as cruise credit rather than money back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From my understanding you can move it to another cruise you just can't get a refund.

The exception to this is right now where because of the complete change to the rules Disney was allowing refunds for everyone who wanted it through a certain date on the Dream next year.

I am no expert though also there is notes in the other thread making sure to note very different rules once you pay in full.

Pre Covid is also not Post Covid but:

Yes, I have changed cruise dates of cruises that I booked concierge before. You don't lose any money. The only way to lose your deposit is if you actually cancel (or move after the official Paid in Full deadline). You can even change to a non-concierge stateroom category if you want. You still won't lose anything, but your initial deposit will remain non-refundable, because you initially booked as concierge.

If your current cruise is scheduled through the end of March 2022, you can get a full refund (even though you booked concierge) through Friday, August 6th, due to them temporarily offering full refunds to anyone who doesn't want to cruise since they released their cruise protocols.

I've done all of this - I moved my deposit to a new cruise and now I've downgraded that cruise to yet a third cruise and my initial deposit is still non-refundable (but I haven't lost any money).

These are such helpful replies; really appreciate you explaining it properly and having real world examples. It looks like it isn't a problem to book concierge then because the worst case scenario is to just move the deposit paid to another booking.

Thank you all so much

Do you have a link that supports March 31, 2022, for concierge bookings? I am unable to locate that. Thanks!

You would have gotten an email previously.

Same with Fantasy sailings would have gotten an email as well about getting a full refund. I had paid in full for my Cat V on the Fantasy. I downgraded to 4E on a Back to Back on Dream and will be getting a refund. I could have gotten a full refund if I wanted it.

Thank you! I finally found the information on some of the blogs. It had to have been requested by August 6 it looks like.

For the Dream, yes, the deadline was August 6th.
For the Fantasy, the offer was just made this week and cancellation must be requested by September 1st for any cruise on the Fantasy departing through March 26,2022.

How much do you lose if you need to move your dates after the paid in full date? Do you lose the entire cruise amount, or the whole deposit?

You can change your cruise date to a different date as long as you are not paid in full yet with concierge and you are not in cruise penalty. You don't lose anything when you're changing to a different cruise. either. I called concierge line and had to move a booking to a different booking twice and they helped me with that. There was one rep in concierge that told me mis information originally thinking that I lost money, but then I talked with another rep in concierge and a supervisor and they said nothing was lost.
