Shanda was very idk how to put it except stuck up about the cancellation. It took 6 days to get it off the reservation.

the new place we are using is beachweddingsbyjoanie(dot)com. She has been fantastic. She is working with us now no customize our ceremony and vows. We are so much happier! And better price!

So now that the 10th has come and gone, anyone hear from Shanda yet? I think I already know the answer to that...
Off to send her the same email I've been sending since 1/21- if I don't get a response this time I'm definitely using the managers' email that was kindly posted earlier. Thanks for that!

nothing yet :surfweb: but it is the weekend, shes off.

Shanda replied to me on Friday.
As of now - NO ON DECK LOCATION has been found on the Dream. Here was my email...

Hope you are getting excited about your upcoming sailing and ceremony! J

" Disney Cruise Line offers priority boarding exclusively to our concierge guests only. Below is a timeline of the embarkation day activities for your reference. Your scheduled meet & greet with your onboard ceremony coordinator will take place at 2:30 PM.

Also, please note that guest staterooms will not be available until 1:30 PM. If you will be carrying garment bags onboard (for your dress and your daughters’ dresses) with your ceremony attire, you are welcome to drop these off to your onboard ceremony coordinator at the Guest Services Desk. As you enter the ship on Deck 3, the Guest Services Desk will be to your immediate right. Your coordinator will happy to hold these items for you and deliver them to your room later that day, so that you don’t have to carry these items around with you.

12:00 PM Boarding begins for sailing guests

1:30 PM Staterooms are available to guests

I know exactly what you all are saying. I am getting married February 15th on the Dream and have unanswered emails. I ahve not been bridezilla and bugged Shanda with questions. This is the second time I have emailed in a year wth questions. I am getting close to my wedding and have no answers to my important questions. These weddings are not free. If they can't handle the volume they need to get more help. I am very concerne3d about how it will go onboard since this will be the first sailing of the Dream with weddings  I know it will all work out in the end and we will all have a great wedding/ vow renewel.

Happy Wedding Day!! Let us all know how it goes! Have a great time!!!

has anyone done a vr on an alaskin cruise?

we're thinking about it for our 10th which is in 3 years and dh keeps reminding me that we had thought of doing a vr on our 10th or at least close to it.

i'm just conflicted since it's a lot of money to do since we're already married.

and it would only be us and our 2 kids (we're expecting #2 this summer)

dd would be 9 then but the new baby would only be 3

Happy Wedding Day babypinkbunny!!

On a side note- we called DFTW yesterday to complain. I explained the situation to an assistant who answered the phone, and had Joe call me back an hour or so later. He apologized, but he also said he wasn't surprised. That makes me wonder how many others have called and complained. He was really nice, and said they have availability throughout the week we were already planning on being at Disney. With the 20% off promotion they have going on, we could have a 10am ceremony at Sunset Pointe for $200 more than the cruise package. The Escape pkg also provides annual passes and photography, plus without paying for the cruise we'd have an extra 1200 bucks, which would cover MK photos (which it turns out we can no longer afford with the cruise). Joe already emailed me the information, which is interesting since it took Shanda 2 weeks to do the same when we booked with DCL.

I really love the idea of Sunset Pointe- Cinderellas Castle is right behind you! I have a big princess dress and awesome heels, which works out much better for Sunset Pointe as compared to the beach. I'm torn because I was still looking forward to the Dream, and I do still love the idea of getting married on Castaway Cay. Yet, we'd save so much money and get much better service with the Escape. I have to decide soon- we're 90 days out from sailing and 75 days out is the point of no return.

Oh what's a bride-to-be to do?!? haha

btw- lets keep the fact that Sunset Pointe is no longer seasonal btwn us, shall we? Just until I decide what to do, haha! Once its public knowledge I bet they'll be a stampede to book it!

Get married in Disneyworld....I will be there and come by and see you!!! :woohoo:

OK, I know that is purely selfish of me, but you should go with your heart on the matter. No matter what, it is your day, you will remember it the rest of your life, and you need to be happy and care free.

i say weigh out your pro's and cons. whatever has more pros.. go with that one! you really cant go wrong either way will be magical. Good luck on your decision! :grouphug: we're here for you!

i got an email from shanda saying that within in a week we should start seeing pictures for the weddings on the dream. Hopefully she will email them to me once she can. Im thinking maybe they are going to use the wedding that's happening now to show us how the weddings will be..

I sure hope that she is having a good time and that everything went well. i cannot wait for her to come back and to hear all about her fairytale wedding and of course see pictures!

Very cool! Love it!

It's looking more and more like we're switching to an Escape. With the money we'd save on the cruise and park tickets, we can stay at POR instead of Pop. Also, last night I managed to book dinner for all 8 of us after the ceremony. We celebrated our engagement there, so I like that we'll celebrate our wedding there as well. He proposed in front of the Castle, and Sunset Pointe has a fantastic castle view. The only thing holding me back is missing out on the Dream.
