I know someone on here will have the answer to this....

Does anyone have the photography options and price lists offered to DCL Brides?

And has anyone taken a local photographer with them on the cruise and used them vs. Disney?

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.:thumbsup2

Hey Leanne! I'm getting married on the Oct 30 Magic sailing as well!! I'm getting married on CC. We originally were getting married on deck 7 cause CC was booked. Then we got a call that it had opened up! We'll have to share some planning stories!

For those who got married on Castaway Cay, did you tip the person who presided over your ceremony? And if so, what is an appropriate tip?

What about if you got married on board? What's proper to do?

I was told that you don't tip a professional..or something to that effect..Since the Captain performed our ceremony, we did not tip..but I did tip the wedding coordinator and musician (because he nailed our song)

I am just looking for anyone who is getting married on the Magic 7 day Western, also congrats to everyone who is getting married this year, and all the lovely ladies who have, this site is very helpful, I am really happy that everyone is sharing. I was also wondering if you did have a wedding already on CC, where exactly does it take place?

:rotfl: there was no "still married' fun for us either....we had the kids with us all week! No one bothered to even think of offereing to take them for a night. BOO on them!!

Ah, we were fortunate enough to have our family members take my DD for the night...see results in my new ticker...LOL

We are going on the Dream too..about a month before you..July 2011. Same group ..I will be down in steerage, but my bridesmaids have both Cat 1 suites again..I can't wait to see the new ship

Let me know how the steerage works out for ya, cause I'm going to be down there too!! Haha

Hello ladies! (dudes? I don't think I saw any!)

So, I've been reading this forum for a while now because when you google Disney Cruise Weddings, this forum is the only thing of any use that comes up!

First off, I have to say that I about peed when I saw DisneyDMBNut's screen name. If I had to pick two favorite things in this world, it would be Disney and Dave Matthews Band (FH comes in a close third!! HAHA! JK!). Wicked cool, ma'am.

Anyway, I read at the beginning of this thread that you can only pick your date a year out. Is that still true or are you able to pick a date further in advance now? Anyone know?

We were looking at doing a 2011 wedding but because of our crummy economy I think we're going to push it back. We already live together so it's really not a rush for us...we'll get married when we get married. LOL!

Anyway, I'm Chels, and I'm so stoked about this site!

You have to wait until 12 months out to book the wedding package, but you can book your cruise earlier.

The actual date of the ceremony is determined by the captain and the onboard wedding coordinator. They will tell you in advance which day of the cruise it's planned for, but they might have to change the day depending on weather (like if they miss Castaway Cay on that trip). However, I don't believe anyone in this thread has had their ceremony moved to a different day than the one they were told. :thumbsup2

Has anyone ver taken along a photographer from Orlando/Cape Canaveral area? What type of arrangements did you make with him...pay for his cruise, etc...

What about their own Pastor...if he's legally able to perform the ceremony?

There are several people who have taken a photographer on the cruise..Jennifer Werner and The Roots have both shot cruises..you could contact them to see what arrangements they require.

I don't think a pastor can perform the legal ceremony...DCL has you do that before you sail by a Notary (hey! I am a Florida Notary..I will marry you and take your pictures!! haha)

Works for me, unfortunately I think it is going to break our Pastor's heart if he isn't able to "go to Disney to marry us". When we first checked into the idea of a DFTW...either Escape or Wishes, and checked to see if he could marry us..we were surprised to find out in Florida he can marry us. And since bringing it up to him...he's been like a kid in the candy store with the idea.

Now since going on our first cruise ever in December, we have been thinking about going on another cruise. And I didn't know how it would work, since even though you are "on the boat" but it is still Florida license and you are married legally in US waters...if he would still be able to do it or not...

Can't hurt to check with DFTW..if he can marry you in Florida then he should be able to do it in the port

Agree, if he can marry you in FL, then he should be able to do it at the port. The actual ceremony takes place before the ship sails, so i see no reason why you can't bring your own pastor.

We told our Pastor last night before Erika went to Youth Group, while we are still checking into it...there might be a chance he could still marry us on the boat....he's like a kid in the candy store...he kept singing, "I'm going on a boat, I'm going on a big red boat"..too funny! He's only 30 but wise way beyond his years...and cracks us up all the time. He's like a member of our family..it just wouldn't feel right being married by someone else.

Thanks so much, now we'll just have to wait and see what Disney says...which I suspect by reading this thread...it will be awhile!
