I'm new to the thread and have been reading past posts to catch up! Our DCL CC wedding is scheduled for December 7, 2010 on the Wonder. pirate: Anyone else on having a wedding this sailing (dec 5-9th)?

I look forward to being addicted to this site!! :worship:

Hi! YAY...I love when we have new DCL brides. I was married last year, 2008, on Castaway Cay. Make sure they have seats for your guests. I fought them on this one as we had 30 people with us. They had seats for everyone of us. So don't let them tell you they don't have them....they just don't like setting them up. LOL

My wedding was AMAZING! It was perfect in every way. Well except pictures...my photographer kinda sucked, Pictures in my TR in my signature, but if I could do it over again, I would find a photographer willing to go with me in exchange for all pictures on a disk...Just a thought!

Welcome!!!

We went to a wedding at Disney Vero Beach in 2007. It isn't considered a DFTW so you must do all the organizing, but it was awesome..it was on the croquet court overlooking the ocean

What a lovely photo.:goodvibes

I am really very excited about this change. We are actually getting married on the beach.:cool1:
We are booking Randy Chapman for 3 hours so i am hoping to get some great beach shots.

The wedding coordinator at Vero said that I can get a wedding cake made and set up at the restaurant if we choose to go there for dinner. So I'm trying to decide whether to do that or book a limo and dine elsewhere.
I think I have decided on gerbera daisies for my bouquet but a bit stumped on colours.

So I need to get looking at hair and make up now.:thumbsup2

my friends had brunch set up in the bar..I think it is Green shutter or something..it was yummy and had mickey waffles..we all sat on the balcony that overlooked the lawn/beach. I think they had to fight for this..and not sure what they had to pay..but it was still cheaper than DFTW according to them

Pinkcow - is it stalker-ish that I already saw that TR? hahahah! :surfweb:

I have definitely been trying to google/find anything I possibly can about CC weddings....and hopin' and prayin' I get as lucky as other CC brides and have beautiful weather!!!! :goodvibes

Did any CC brides do any special 'honeymoon' things on the ship? Like have strawberries and champagne sent to your room? Or did you get any special treatment while on your cruise??

Hello! I have a quick question. I asked it a couple of times on this site but nobody ever responds. Hopefully I can get an answer this time. I just wanted to know how much time you have in between the wedding and the reception if you are getting married on CC. I am not hiring a photographer and wanted to know how much time I have to take pictures.

I need to know this as well - someone please answer! I am also having a private photographer cruising with our wedding party and need to make sure they will be allowed to have time to take pics....

I believe that after the ceremony, your guests will go directly back to the ship for the reception in Palo. You can hang back for a bit and get some pictures, but your time in Palo is typically only an hour and a half. The reception is right after the ceremony. You could ask to have it at a later time, but remember that they will need to set Palo up for dinner so you could't do it too late. And of course, that's if they even allow a different time.

29Apr - thanks that clarifies things a bit better, I will add that to my list of things/questions to ask the coordinator...:thumbsup2

goldelox - yes your wedding was so beautiful! I hope my weather is as amazing as yours was! I have looked over and read your trip report! :surfweb: :)

Castaway Cay Brides: did you go to any specific bars/clubs for the evening 'reception'? What did your evening consist of? I am thinking of doing Tritons for dinner, then Route 66 for drinks and dancing (wavebands?) We will be on the Wonder. Any ideas you have on evening itinerary would be awesome...(I've never been on a Disney Cruise before!)

Actually everyone has to be back on the ship by a certain time? 11:00 or 11:30am because they do an elevator check and as you know Palo is all the way up so if you are later then that you have to huff it up all those stairs. We had about 25-30 minutes for pictures on the beach after the guests headed up to Palo.

That night was the Pirate Party so we had dinner in Tritons (I didn't wear my dress cause I didn't want to mess iit up before our Magic Kingdom Pictures) then we all went to the Pirate party. Then I went to sleep...LOL I was exhusted!!!

we went to the pirate party too, but i DID wear my dress. it wasn't big and poofy princess-y like Lisa's though. we crashed after that too. :rotfl:

There was no Just Married fun in our cabin that night....too darn sleepy!

I wore a white sundress to dinner, but most of my family went as pirates! LOL

:rotfl: there was no "still married' fun for us either....we had the kids with us all week! No one bothered to even think of offereing to take them for a night. BOO on them!!

Awe Jennifer, your BFF should have scooped them up for the night!

you'd think she would have.....must have been tired after 4 days at WDW with them!

You won't get to choose your restaurant, though. You are given your dining rotation when you check in and have to eat in the assigned restaurant, or at Palo's, or the buffet or quick service. Unfortunately you have no control over where you will be assigned for the wedding night.:confused3

the coordinator said I can pick which nights to have my group and where, which I was confused about knowing they do rotations...we are flexible, though, so in the end it won't matter. But, I'll still have to talk to her about this more in depth. We have a group of about 50 people going, so they could hopefully just have that server follow our group! hehehe...I'll look into it - thanks for the warning :thumbsup2

if anyone else has any ideas/suggestions/comments/warnings for me that would be great! i have read almost all of the past posts in this thread to learn all the information - so any other thoughts are welcomed! :hippie:

we were able to pick our rotation. I wanted to make sure that Parrott Cay was the night we were in Palo, and I wanted Animator's Palette to be first. I just told the group coordinator and she arranged it all. It was just like i wanted it to be.

you are able to change your rotation..we like PAL(T) (Parrot, Animator's, Lumier's/Triton) rotation. We always request it at booking, but never get it. We have always gone down to the club at boarding and the dining manager changes it for us without a problem.

We also went to the clubs after our Palo reception. I wore my dress everywhere...and we got back to our room about 1am...but not too tired ;P

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize we could get a certain rotation. That will make things easier for our planning. Since my son is doing all tropical, they really wanted to be in Parrot Cay on the wedding night. Now I know we can make that happen!! Thanks again.
