Hello Ladies,

First off my name is Stacy and My Fiance Dave and I just decided on a wedding on the wonderful Disney Cruise Line! That is also where we got engaged about a year ago. Here's the deal we want to do it on a 7 night cruise on the Magic but we are not sure yet if we want to do it onboard or on CC. We are looking at booking around Oct or Nov 2010 and are super excited!!! Anyways, my question is this..... I understand that there are only 3 onboard and 1 CC wedding per 7 night cruise and that you have to have your cruise booked before you can "add-on" the wedding package, does anyone have a phone number and/ or e-mail (both would be great as it's easier for me to e-mail) for someone to contact to find out which cruises still have availability for onboard and/or CC weddings?

Thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate the expert "been there done that" help! :)

Stacy

You would need to contact Disneys Fairytale Weddings and they will get the wedding coordinator to contact you with regards to availability.:thumbsup2

I can tell you that I have just changed our 4 night sailing on 31st October to the 7 night sailing on the 30th Oct. There was one slot left on that so I have moved our wedding over. Castaway and another wedding had already been booked.

So I would advise you to contact them as soon as you can as I wouldn't want you to be disappointed.

The number I have is 321-939-4610.

Good luck!:wizard:

Thanks Leanne!

I called the number you gave me and gave them what details I had, which aren't many at this point lol. She took all my info and said that someone from the cruise division should be contacting me in 1-2 business days with the availability for 7 nighters in Oct/Nov. :goodvibes

So once you nail down a date, book the cruise, and add on the wedding package is that when they send you the planning information? Also, is there a max number of staterooms that you can link to yours in order to receive some kind of discount (8 comes to mind) or do they not offer discounts at all anymore? I know you can link as many cabins together as needed but all cabins may not receive discount. Thanks again!

Good luck! I hope they have availability for your chosen date.:thumbsup2 When we called, someone got back to us the next day.
The wedding coordinator sent us the planning info as soon as we had officially booked. You have to get that back to them 60 days before sail date or before that if you are organised.

I can't help with regards to the room discounts and linking staterooms. We only have 6 people all together so we have booked two staterooms and linked them.

I'm sure someone here will be able to help you further with that.:thumbsup2

Oh and I forgot to say,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!:cloud9::love:

Hi Ladies! Nessa, what great pics! Goldeelox, congrats on the win! Yunchman, welcome!

Quick question, would it be possible to PM me Shanda's e-mail?

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

I'm new to the thread and have been reading past posts to catch up! Our DCL CC wedding is scheduled for December 7, 2010 on the Wonder. pirate: Anyone else on having a wedding this sailing (dec 5-9th)?

I look forward to being addicted to this site!! :worship:

This site is very addicting! Welcome! You'll actually be on our 1 year anniversary sailing. We were married 12/8/09 on CC on the Wonder. We won't be sailing this year, ;), but hope to again in the near future. Congrats!

Oh yes, you will be VERY addicted to this site!!! I've spent entire days on here, no I'm not kidding, like 9 hours reading threads on weddings and vr's... I LOVE It!!! I've had to kick my self off lately, as I've been under the weather for like 3 weeks  , so I feel WAY behind the times on what everyone is doing. Congrats on your wedding!!!!!

Thanks everyone! Pinkcow - I actually saw all your photos when googling for CC weddings :) ....and I should mention it's nearly impossible to find CC wedding photos! I like seeing photos because it helps give me an idea of what it will be like. I have never been on a Disney Cruise before, so I'm going site unseen

I did want to add to past posts I saw - I now have Shanda Sasse in replacement of Brianna (the last coordinator, who was a flake and gave me the wrong answers to some of my questions which really makes me mad considering I already sent out invites). Shanda is very nice and very willing to help me make certain things happen. I like her more. She may be new, but she seems to be more enthusiastic and willing to make things happen - whereas Brianna just read from a script when I talked to her which was really annoying, she never showed any enthusiasm for the weddings. She never even described things to me, whereas Shanda did - to try to help me visualize or understand the way things are the day of.

One thing I am wondering about from everyone, is I saw in recent posts that there is a lack of communication between the Cruise Line and the DFTW staff. Which worries me! :sad2: If anyone has any advice on how to make my wedding run smoothly - things to make sure of, let me know.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!:) I am getting married on the Nov.6th-13 Eastern Magic cruise. We had our sail date on the 23rd of Oct- 30th at first but had to change our dates not because the weddings being booked up but instead beacause there was very little availability left of rooms for our guests. So this is what I was told and what I did. First you can block off I think its like up to 10 staterooms for your guests and DCL will hold the availibility for those rooms for 30 days. When the wedding cordinator contacts you they will reserve the sailing you want for 7 days while you get your reservation for your room. Good luck!!!!

Communicate EVERYTHING in writing with Shanda, don't just take for granted that something will happen. then bring all your communication with you on the cruise and be ready and willing to fight/stand up for what you want. But you still need to be prepared for many inconsistineces from week to week.

for instance, i know that past brides had issues with seating at CC ceremony's, but when we changed to Deck 7, with a maximum guest count of 18, i FOOLISHLY assumed that meant there would be seating for 18. There is NOT, Disney expects you to pay $100 for more guests, but they have to stand. Never was it mentionted anywhere that guests would be standing for the ceremony. (luckily we were rained out and had to be moved into the lounge where seating was plenty) Also, I was told by the onboard coordinator that there was absolutley no way to do the sand ceremony for our VR, yet Tanya did her's just 1 week prior to that with no issues, he even helped her set it up! So be prepared for a fight.....and keep track of all your communication!!

Well I think we have come to a decision after a recent thread on here.

When we starting talking about getting married we both though of Disneys Vero Beach Resort first. However we couldn't find any info on it and we were told that they stopped doing weddings a while ago. That is when we booked the wedding onboard the cruise.

I read a thread last week from a bride who was organising her wedding at Vero! I gathered as much info as possible and after many emails back and forth to the wedding coordinator at Vero we have decided to get married there instead.:goodvibes
We have been in touch with an officiant who is free for our date, I have contacted Randy Chapman who is also free, so I am in the process of booking them both.:yay:
Then I need to sort out the cake, flowers, hair and make up and anything else.
We have worked it out money wise and even with booking Randy, this wedding will cost roughly half of the cruise cost, all in.:thumbsup2

So we have changed our cruise from the 4 night to the 7 night western. We will be boarding 2 days after getting married, so it will be a proper honeymoon and then we will still have 8 nights before Vero and 6 nights after the cruise at WDW.:goodvibes

P.S., Pinkcow - I hope and pray that on our wedding our weather is as beautiful as it was on your wedding!!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! :goodvibes

I heard back from Shanda today and got all the availability info I needed, now we just have pick a week! Yay!

Now tomorrow I have to call travel agencies to try to figure out what kind of discounted rates I can get with multiple cabins so that I can give people the info they need since everyone is a super organized planner and they want to know NOW....:scared:

Thanks for all the help so far and thanks in advance for the future help because I surely will have lots of questions!!! :flower3::worship:

I'm so glad it helped! :goodvibes I hadn't been on a DCL cruise either, so I know exactly what you are going through, I googled everything I could too! :thumbsup2

If you haven't checked out Goldeelox's PJ/TR, do it, she has a great report!

That is so sweet!! Thank you! :cloud9: I hope you do too! :goodvibes

We did use Dreams Unlimited as our TA. The onboard credit was more than the discount Disney was willing to give us for a group. We suggested that all of our guests use the same contact when booking. About half of our guests actually used DU, the other half booked on their own. :goodvibes

Oh! It's also really easy to link the cabins together so you will sit together, etc. Shanda or your TA should be able to do this for you if you need to.
