Goldeelox love love love your video!
What a beautiful setting, couple and dress!
My favourite part though was when the children are stopping to pick up shells? walking up the aisle and the running up together! PURE MAGIC!!!!!!
THanks so much for sharing

All during the ceromony the flower girl was collecting shells and giving them to the bridesmaids who would let them drop back onto the beach...it was a cycle she would work her way down the row of them then go back and start again! LOL

Thank you I thought the whole day was magical!

I thought I had read a post on here somewhere where the poster said there were 2 BRIDES on one of the Cruises. That people were saying to one bride "did you see the other bride"? And how the corrdinator finished up one wedding and was running to get the other underway???? I just read a post where there is only one in each location per cruise????

So I am confused. Does anyone know??? DD said the Ceremony could be held at one of two times it is up to the Captain, so I guess when I read that there were two Brides on the ship I wasn't suprised, but now I am wondering......Anyone know for sure is it 1 or 2 ceremonies onboard durring any one cruise??

There was another wedding on my cruise..she got married in the lounge at 4:30pm and Rufaro was running between giving me my flowers and helping that bride. There were several officers at the ceremony plus wait staff..so there were plenty of people to help. I saw her in the salon getting her hair done while I was getting a pedicure. Then, when we were walking around the top deck, she and her husband were with their photographer too..we laughed and spoke for a moment and I wish I had thought to get a picture with her.

I was concerned about the Captain changing the ceremony too, but I think that is a weather or emergency type thing...Maritime law is very different and it doesn't matter who OWNS the ship..the captain rules the ship.

I think there could potentially be 3 weddings on your cruise, 1 in Cadillac Lounge, 1 on Deck 7 and 1 on castaway cay.

I was glad I was the only bride on my ship! LOL It will feel weird not being "The Bride" on my next cruise.

you could book a vow renewal!!

or..just wear your wedding dress around the ship...who would know!!!:rotfl2::lmao:

I am only half kidding!

OKK so DD's Wedding is actually going to onboard the ship in November but it stinks that there will be construction on CC while we are there also. Pixie when I read your post I had to check when your ceremony was. I am also wondering where they will move you to, and how soon they will let you know where it's going to be.
As far as the Floral goes DD was told the same thing if it is an outside vendor they will not keep the flowers in the cooler you had to keep them yourself. So I think that now she is just going to pick one off the list Disney provided her. It seems that there are several things that DD had talked with the previous planner about that have now been changed. I get the different rotations for people on the cruise, but you would think that certain things would remain the same. We have been wondering if it has something to do with maybe more people are wanting to get married durring a cruise that they are "changing" things from the way they had been done in the past???
I guess what they need to do is make hard rules that cannot be changed for ANYONE!!! That way people will not see things that others have done and want to do the same??? I am not sure what the end result will be, or should be. Like DD has explained to me, the WEDDING on a cruise is like an "ADD ON" so maybe this is why it is like it is. She said it shows nowhere on her reservations that she is having a wedding, when she called reservations for something the Cast Member she was talking with was looking for a reason her total was so high for a category 6 and DD had to explain to her that she had a Wedding Booked!
She is trying to be calm about all the changes that have been made since she booked, so far the Cake, the Flowers, I think thats it. I do believe they said she can still have the cake moved inside (fiancees mom will be finishing chemo and can't take the sun). She is taking a Photographer along with her (guess that is OK since it is another stateroom booked and more money paid)
If she hears anything else about it I will let you know as I find out. I know she told Bri what florist we had been talking to and last I talked to DD, I think she was waiting to see if it was a contracted vendor, don't know which way she will go if they are not, thinking she will just use Disney Floral to save a problem.
Please keep posting what you all find out, so we are all in the loop......

Your poor daughter :sad2: I feel for her she sounds amazing to be handling the changes so gracefully :)

When I was reading your post I though you make a really good point that I hadn’t really understood when I changed from an escape wedding to DCL wedding. Being that, now my wedding really does felt like an “ADD ON”, no more important and a group booking to the spa. For weeks now I have been devastated with the responses that come back from DFTW, so much so that if I hadn’t already had guests book I would have cancelled.

I hope everything works out for you DD :flower3:

When we were trying to work out our ceremony hic up we were told that there could be up to 3 per cruise (2 onboard & 1 on CC) and this could be made up of any combination of VR or weddings.

wow..I never felt that my ceremony was an "add on"...I also really didn't get told "No" to anything...just "I have to ask, that isn't how we have done it in the past"

At first I was told they could only do the ceremony in the Cadillac Lounge which I KNEW was not right because I had seen others on Deck 7...but that was the first month..after then, it was not a problem.

I do know they are limited to what can be done since it is on a ship and they just don't have the staff that can be devoted to weddings...Rufaro was the onboard contact but she also had other duties..she was trying to do her regular job and work with my wedding and the other onboard ceremony...

Maybe if they start having more ceremonies...they will be able to have more of a package...I think 2010 packets are due to come out in August and they are suppose to have new choices and changes...

This now all fits into place-

  • Brie could not confirm the price for 2010 when I spoke to her in May.

  • Not being able to confirm if they will do weddings/ VR in Europe.

Hopefully I should get some more information before I have to book. I am due to call her a week before on 24 July. Will pass on any changes and info she provides.

More importantly, this thread ROCKS. :cheer2: You want to find information on anything to do with cruise VR or weddings just use the search tool on this thread!

Thanks Ladies!!!!!

Yes I have heard they are changing things for 2010 and I think that a couple have allready been put into place since DD was told YES to a few and now it is NO I think they are starting the changes NOW!! And as far as asking, we went throught that with Cathy that was when it was YES and now with Bri it is NO.

Like I said she is being pretty good about it but I know she wants to know for sure what is being done and what is not, I mean how does she know when she gets on that ship that "anything" that was discussed will be done at ALL???? She is dealing with someone on land, how does anyone know FOR SURE what they will be getting once they are on the ship????

I have read what everyone else has done, I have seen pictures posted and a few of the things others have done are no longer allowed to be done as a few others in the planning stages have said here, color to the cake, outside florists, cake moved inside, I guess as a mom of a bride I am concerned as well, YES they did this full well knowing that they would be limited in what they could choose so please don't flame me. But like I said in another post then the rules should be the rules for all who do this and maybe this is what they are attempting to do now, but if it was set and the planning started allready then they should have to stick to what was agreed to allready. They are changing the rules midway through the game!!!!

2010 is 2010 and DD and many others here have plans for 2009 lets not change to the 2010 rules until January 2010.

I completely agree :) and I guess we are just a little shocked & disappointed as I never really though that these changes would affect us as we already had the planning packet and we are getting married in Nov 09 not 2010.

It’s just a big learning experience as at home (here is oz) our fair trading laws are pretty tight on this sort of thing, and if you have something in writing (for example a quote that says you can have X or Y) provided you have abided by the base conditions (e.g payment by the due date etc) both parties can be held to the agreement. And I understand (as one of the other guys pointed out) that the changes may be for very valid reasons, but it’s still disappointing as this was supposed to be our fairytale wedding :sad1:

I received an e-mail from the FL marriage licence people yesterday...the ball is rolling now, less than 2 months to go..woo hoo

Maybe someone posted this but I got a voicemail from Brie that the 2010 pricing is out and emails will be coming within the week. On boards wedding are now 2500 and CC is 3500. Those are all the details I have.

I'm paying 2500 for my on-board wedding in August - no change there I guess.

For 2009 they didn't go up in price, BUT the numbe rof pictures went down and they limit the number of pictures on your CD (if you get the biggest package). I would work on finding a photgrapher would will take a free cruise in exchange for all of your pictures on a disk. I know of at least 2 brides who are doing this....Darn why didn't I think of that!
