Of course you can Join here....I am a Bride, not a VR but the info crosses over all the time. This thread is very helpful!

oh, ok. So I don't have to go thru this planning kit with Cathy. I can book my own time. That's good to hear. Thank you so much!

Did any of you VR Brides, send out wedding annoucements to family and friends that weren't going to be their for your special day? Just to let them know that you we're renewing your vows?

actually, Cathy can make the reservation before you can. She reserved the Palo room before the 105 day mark for me. You just tell her when

oh ok. Do you happen to know about when Palo starts serving dinner?

Betsy, what do you think about wearing my wedding dress into Palo? It has a cathedral train, not to long and dress is a little poofy.

Did you happen to send out annoucements for your VR? I found some really cute mickey and minnie ones!

Can you have the dress bustled? I did not have a train that touched, but I really don't see a problem with it..I am sure you are not the first
I think 5:30 is the first time..but I am not 100% sure

I did not send announcements for our VR because I sent announcements for our wedding the year before. I did send out a mass email with the kodak link when we got back

If we had done the VR further out from our actual wedding, I would have definitely sent them!

Yea!!! Thank you!
No, Due to the way the dress is, I can't have it bustled...I think it will be ok too.

Our wedding was 10 years ago, so I'm gonna for it. I found a website that custom makes disney annoucements. So neat. Will try and post a pic. I keep showing everyone your photos! I cant wait till it's me standing on that deck!!!

Oh, and we booked the spa, that you hinted to me about!! Without ya, I'd miss out on some "special" me and hubby time! THANX! LOL

Not a VR but a bride. Getting married on the Wonder 5/22/09. I wanted to get married on the secret deck 7 but as of now we have more than 20 people coming so Cathy said we would get married in the Cadillac Lounge. I thought we could make reservations for everyone after the ceremony in Palo's for dinner but I was told Cathy could only reserve the private room for 14 not the whole group. Not sure what to do? Does anyone have pictures of a wedding or VR done in Cadillac Lounge?

Here is a link to the post with photos of the lounge decorated for our VR.

I'll have about 50 people (give or take a few who book/cancel between now and the cutoff date) for my 5/2/09 CC wedding aboard the Wonder. We're doing an immediate family dinner at Palo's in the private room too the night before. Cathy's booking it for us.

I also finished my remake of my bouquet..i think it came out pretty cool and it is now in the vase on the mantle

Is it possible to try to arrange in advance to have your VR and dinner at Palo's on a night where there's not as much going on? For instance, I don't want to miss Animator's Palate or the Pirate Party with my kids. We're not going until Halloween 2010, so I have plenty of time to prepare. Everything I've seen in this thread has been so helpful!

yes..there are many times brides don't want the Palo dinner on the night of the VR..the coordinator will pick whatever night you want

Have any of you brides (who have allready had your Wedding on the cruise) worn your dress to any of the clubs in the evening??

Great to hear I told DD she should but she was unsure if she would be allowed to or not....glad you posted these.

Boy, I have not been on this thread in a little while.....

I wore my gown all over that night...Palo, to the clubs, etc....and I never bustled it. It did have a hand grip from underneath that I would use when we danced.

On the cruise itself, your guest will get personal invites to the VR. I didn't send any out to the people that weren't coming.

We purposely chose to do the VR on the Thurs. at sea as to not miss the stuff in the beginning of the week, and so we could be a little bit more tan. The only down side to this is that we couldn't eat cake all week, and I really didn't get to enjoy my flowers (I dind't take them off the ship, was told the wrong info, so I left them on board :headache: )

Depending on the length of the cruise, will affect several things. We had a four night. Our vor renewal was originally going to be the evening after Castaway Cay day (so the night before we arrived back at port). Later I was told it was changed to the evening of the Nassau day, which I was happy for, as I wanted to enjoy my flowers and cake (and yes you can take your flowers off, some people do not give you the correct info). Nassau was supposed to be the first full day (leaving on Sunday from port), so Monday evening. When we were getting checked in to board, we were told of an itinerary change!!! Day one would be at sea, day two nassau, day three castaway cay. So then our vow renewal was Tuesday, not Monday. This really was not a problem, but I had something embroidered with that DATE! So just a heads up, you will get married on the cruise (or castaway cay, if that's your choice and then can dock there) but you may get married on a day different than you had planned.

I too wore my dress for the rest of the evening. In our case, it was Pirate night, so I wore it all over the ship, but also up to watch the show and firewords. I had a small sweep train, and just let it drag. (I only held it up when I went up and down the stairs).

Wow! That's beautiful! I want to have a DCL VR for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2010. I was on DCL in October and we spoke with someone onboard about it. I'm just not sure how many friends would be willing to come on the cruise with us. I guess I'd need to figure all of this out but I know it would be less than 20 people.

I'm going to read through this thread to see what to do and what not to do from all of you "experts". Annmarie

I am hoping to keep my dress on as long as I can...but cruise brides...how long does it take for official photographs?? Will we be able to enjoy the rest of our evening? (We're doing a 3-night cruise)

Also, for the photographs...do DCL give you background and pose options? And do they take you to different locations around the ship? Also, what time does the ship leave Nassau, will we see a sunset (we're cruising in August)

Thanks a bunch!!
