So, DH and I were renewing our vows on the Sept. 2nd Disney Wonder cruise. Then my dad got very ill and we decided to have the renewal on a ship close to home so that my dad could come. Carnival, RCCI, and Norwegian all let you have the ceremony and receptions here in Miami and people can attend even if they are not sailing. Not exactly what DH and I had originally planned but we really wanted my dad there.

Unfortunately, my dad didn't make it and passed away last week. So, as we feel like he would have wanted, we are changing the renewal back to the Disney Wonder. We have moved the date back to the Oct. 28th sailing though.

We're excited to be going back to our original plans. I know my dad will be with us in spirit which at least brings me some peace.

So, you'll be hearing some more from me as we get closer to the date.

So sorry about your Dad....he will be there in spirit as he watches down from Heaven while you get your Disney VR!!!

My daughter is getting married on DCL Feb 5, 2011 Western and we were wondering if anyone might know about the photo cd. Approximately how many photos do they put on there and do you chose what goes on there or does the photographer? I know you have the photographer for a hour but it really doesn't give us an idea of how many photos. Thanks in advance for any/all replies!

Hi ~

I'm Aimee. New to the boards. And thinking about a September 2011 Disney Cruise Wedding.

Can anyone point me to reviews/information/pics/budgets etc.?

And background - boyfriend is Brent - we aren't engaged (yet) but we live together and are planning to marry. I'm a disney kid all the way and have always wanted a Disney wedding.

Snoop about on this thread. In people's signatures, they'll often have links to their DCL wedding planning journals (PJ's) and Trip Reports (TR's)

:)

Also, check out this link for some awesome pictures of a real DCL wedding. Its what made me decide I wanted one:

Hello Aimee....although I wasn't a disbride, I did do the VR on the Magic. My link is in my signature. Most of the brides have their links there. Happy reading and planning.

Thanks! I've been trying to read everyone's PJ. And I think a VR counts as a Disney "wedding" I'm sure I've missed some PJ which is why I want a "push" in the right direction to find more Disney Cruise brides.

In my humble opinion....GO FOR IT!!!! I absolutely loved loved loved doing it and would do it again in a heart beat. Although for our 30th in 8 years I think we are going to Hawaii...but anyway....it was fabulous, and although you will hear from most people that there were some glitches along the way,(any wedding will have glitches) overall I believe everyone is most satisfied with their experiences.

Just thought I'd let you ladies know that our DCL Wedding Night Baby has arrived and in my opinion she's just gorgeous!!!

Our VR is on the 3/17 sailing on the dream. You are allowed to "Book" ahead of time. The way the new person did it is she emailed me (communication choice of preference for me) and confirmed that I still needed the spot and then went ahead and booked it for me. So for all intensive purposes, she will hold the spot for you until you are allowed to book. IF you don't respond and someone else has requested it, she will give it away. SO you have to confirm it:) hope that helps

I would call them and let them know that you are interested in doing it....I mean call Disney Dream weddings. When they give you the date that they will book on, just be the first caller. ;)
When we booked ours, I had called before the set date, and Cathy put me on a list...I was the 1st one....but told me to call on a certain date. I don't know if the new person is allowed to do that or not, but it certainly doesn't hurt to call now and then again.

Have a great time.

Quick question for anyone who is able to answer:yay:

For the reception, what actually goes on? How long is that part of it? Where is it held and is there dancing afterwards? Do you have to go to one of the lounges later to dance??? HELP ME........ haha I was trying to find it in the thread but it is so long I couldn't find anything about it...
It might be a little different for the dream but an idea would be a nice help...trying to make a CD with music for the ceremony but I need to know what all the reception entails..Thanks for any advice

So I'm officially penciled in! :yay:

After calling the DFTW people a few times, I finally got a hold of the correct person. Many many DFTW people told me you cannot pencil in a date, but the actual wedding planner told me you could. If anyone is trying I suggest you keep calling til they say they will have a WP call you.

Basically it works as what everyone has been saying. You can get them to pencil you in (put you first on the list) than you call to confirm a year out.

I am booking the cruise itself today! We will be on the September 15, 2011 sailing with a Castaway Cay ceremony on the 17th!
