Does anybody have one? I just applied. Was wondering how fast you can accrue rewards dollars. Will I be lucky to get a free dvd, or can I really hope to get some free nights at a Disney resort? I understand it depends on how much I use it. Has anyone gotten anything really cool with the rewards?

I have had the Disney Visa for several months and already have 50.00 that I can use towards any Disney stuff. This includes travel and tickets. When you get your card they will tell you how much you have to spend to earn reward dollars.

We've had Disney Visa from day one and have racked up a lot of reward dollars - and have been able to use them to pay for character meals while at WDW, merchandise, etc. You call and get a rewards card (just like a credit or debit card) and then when you are ready to spend the rewards dollars, you can call and transfer the dollar amount to your reward card. Then just present the reward card when you want to use it and they will run it just like a debit card (this is what we did at WDW with it).

As TAKitty said, you'll see the rewards dollar amount on your monthly statement - the dollar amounts stays "on account" until you transfer it over (either by phone or online). For current Disney Visa holders, they had a special character meet and greet at Innoventions West running through 9/30 that includes a complimentary 5x7 photo.

Can't you start out with some sorta promotional free $50 rewards for applying? Thought I say a post about a specific website of 50rewarddollars.com or something. I'd do a search.

I sorta started with the same philosophy of earning a DVD or something, then thought, okay it would be great to earn a 7 day PHP (at the time the ticket of choice). But now looking back at $1000 in reward dollars, I'm setting on it for the best part of a cruise - or at least some excursions and a hefty bar tab. Enjoy!

You accrue 1%. There aren't many ways to earn bonus reward dollars, so to accrue $500, you have to charge $50,000. There are better credit card deals out there, so you have to decide if Disney Reward Dollars are worth it to you.

Thanks guys. I got it as a second card just for internet purchases and ebay, but I don't plan on using it much. I wanted to get a card that gave something back, and since we always buy stuff at the Disney Store I figured at least that would be a reward I would use. I think the promotion that was running when I applied said they will send you a $15 Disney Store gift card after you use the card the first time. Hopefully it will also put me on their mailing list to receive hotel discounts or vacation promotions.
