Disney Credit Card

I just got my card today. It's strange - dh & I did a joint application together. He got his card last week & mine came separately.

One question - if you charge the cruise to the Disney card, do you get Disney dollars for that?

Just talked to my AAA travel agent this afternoon - I also
paid my deposit many months ago (Sept 02). She called
DCL and they said all I have to do to get the $50 stateroom
credit is to charge the remaining balance on my disney
visa. It didn't matter that I charged the deposit on another
card.
So, its definitely worth the call to your travel agent!!!

:)

My agent (also AAA) had to credit the deposit back to my old card (which will take two billing cycles according to DCL) then take both the deposit and final payment from the new card. I did the final payment today as it is due next week anyway and I don't have time this week for another trip to the travel agent.

The good news, is I did get the stateroom credit for both rooms that were booked.

My agent said this basically took her two hours to resolve with lots of time on hold. So if your getting your agent to call, it pays to be patient.

Just a question (There seem to be alot of them about this card!)

Can you use the Disney Rewards coupons on the ship to pay off your charges while on board? I want to bring them along and halfway through the 7 night apply them to our bill. I want to lessen the sticker shock on the last day. I also plan on paying of the rest of the cruise with the card. We already have a $200 stateroom credit for booking on the ship on our last cruise. That was a good deal.

Got our cards today, and although it is not a great deal, it is Disney:cool:

We are cruising in December and paid our deposit in cash, I plan to call our agent on Monday to get the scoop on the "credit"!

I am curious however what everyone is talking about regarding 1st time cruising and DVCer's not being treated as special as other guests!:(

I have read many posts on this site and another cruise site and it seems that the upgrades are random, not related to 1st time, frequency or who pays them more money annually! Fair? I don't know, it keeps everyone on the same playing field and I do like that! I thought DVCer's had a special on board party? I don't have the $$ to stay in the fancy hotels at Disney so the DVC offers us the ability to go more often and stay at nicer locations which I think is a perk in it's own! :D

Anyways, I don't care if I get a credit, (I will try), I don't care if I am upgraded (I plan to be on the decks having a good time) - this will be our first DCL experience and I plan to make it one of our families fondest memories!

God Bless our Soldiers & God Bless America!

I called bank one and DCL - I was told there was nothing that the reward dollars can be used for on the Cruise. I told them that their brochure was wrong and it should be changed. She said maybe they will add something later. She said "Oh you can get the $50 onboard credit". I told her that the onboard credit had NOTHING to do with the reward dollars and that I already had the DC onboard credit and I couldn't use both could I? She was of course not.

I really hope they get their act together regarding what you can and can't use these reward dollars for. I e-mailed DCL and told them how unhappy I was since they were even advertising the credit card on the website and saying you could use them for the cruise. I have yet to hear back from them.

This is in regards to the Bank One Cash Rewards Card. I have that card and you can take your rewards in a variety of ways. I call it my Home Depot Card. Once you have spent $2,500 you can get a $25 gift card towards Home Depot, Borders Books, Macy's, Blockbuster, Best Buy, and a bunch of other places in addition to the option of requesting a $25 check. I find it very flexible in choosing my rewards. Since we are doing a lot of home improvements, we choose to go with the Home Depot gift cards. In order to get your rewards you call their toll free number and tell them what you want. I don't think it's taken longer than 2 weeks for the gift cards to arrive.

I pulled out my paperwork, some of the other rewards are; Chili's, Macaroni Grill, Exxon, Sam Goody, Eddie Bauer, JCPenney, Sport Authority, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Pier 1 Imports, and Pizza Hut.

Hope this helps.

On your monthly statement your reward points are clearly marked, so it's easy to tell what you have accumulated. I assume this will be the same with the Disney card as well. Also, you don't have to claim all your points at once. You can claim as little or as much as you want. I assume this will be the same as well on the Disney Card.

Just used mine to pay the deposit on our cruise for March 2004.
Cruise sales manager Donna said it was the first new one she had seen.

We received our card today. It is a credit card from Bank One. One of the many offers it has, as a cardmember, you'll receive bonus offers, such as special deals on vacations or merchandise, when you use your Disney's Visa card. Example, you'll receive a $50. onboard credit per stateroom when you or your travel agent book a Disney Cruise Line vacation with your Disney's Visa card. This offer is good for sailings through 12/31/03.

Did I read that you can't use accumulated points until October, or was it a bad dream? We're going in June, and I'm charging up a storm. We'll use it on our pre cruise stay if we can.
