Is there any more info on the new card that was mentioned in the member clubhouse newsletter? Mainly, what are the points you earn good for? I see Universal has a card, where you can cash in points for various items, including admission to the parks. Was wondering if the Disney card would be similar. You could get a big chunk of points paying off your DVC purchase!

I don't think any details have been released yet. Bank One, who is underwriting the credit card, said details should be available sometime in March.

Last night 1/29 I was told at our TDS that it would still be 30 days till there would be ANY info on the Disney Credit Card.

Last info I saw on a Disney site was that you get a 1% return in Disney Dollars. Not much but it helps. Already registered to be notified when it is available.

I had read on the Disney Secret link from the Disney Club that the rewards would be in Disney Awards Dollars, which are not necessarily the same thing as Disney Dollars. They give no information as to the number of DADs you would get per $ spent, nor what thoses DADs will get you.

I signed up to apply as soon as it's available but I'm hoping that it will offer some of the benefits that I will lose when the Disney Club is phased out (i.e. room discounts, % off at TDS and Disneystore.com, discounted park hoppers and APs). The DADs would just be icing on the cake.

I am going to miss this card VERY much . . . I have used it for so many things over the years. I, also, have signed up on the secret site to be contacted with info on the Disney Card . . . but I am really leary about it. Everybody and their dog has one of these, and I expect more out of Disney. I sure hope they come up with some kind of a twist or unique turn on this card that will provide the same savings as the DC. I also don't like that the card is with Bank One . . . I don't own their stock, I bought Disney. Why don't they just do their own?

One last gripe, why do they constantly ignore people that are not in the immediate Florida area with discount codes? They have special codes for so many areas, even Canada. I live in the middle of the country. We fly, we rent a car, we are Disney Vacation Members, we own Disney stock . . . could someone send me some little code for some little discount so I can feel like I belong? I don't want a credit card . . . I want just once, to feel like I got a deal. We are going on our 8th trip in May, we have five kids, we are going back in March and bringing lots of extended family and staying in a GV. . .we love it there, but just once, could they come out with a code for Nebraskans only!

Thanks for listening.

I think I can tell you why Disney has to do it with BankOne. To be a Visa/Mastercard you have to be affiliated with a bank. Disney does not and should not get into the banking business. Banking is highly regulated and as a stockholder I would be upset if Disney did that.

I just got my Disney Club News in the mail and it does say this (which I think is more than I have read elsewhere)... "You can earn reward dollars on card purchases, and your reward dollars can be redeemed for practically any Disney purchase-from merchadise at Disney Store and Theme Parks to Disney Vacation Packages and much more".

This sounds good to me, I always use a rewards card and pay the balance monthly, so if this will earn my money for my vacation I'm all for it!

In the disneyclub newsletter I got today it stated that you get disney rewards with every purchase you make. It also stated that if you are one of the first ones to apply you will also get a pin with your first purchase with the card. The card will launch on March 4. I will be applying but will most likely use my discover card where you actually get cash back to use on whatever you want. Every christmas I get around $100 from just using my discover card. Maybe people should be looking into that to save money.

Well, only one month worth of waiting time is all we have to bear...

I like my Skymiles rewards. Rather than getting $100 cash back, we saved $700 in airline tickets. Not bad at all! We booked early enough to select our seats and itineraries.

The new Disney card will have to beat what Delta offers me in order for me to use it more often... If I can match those savings in any other ways and still pile up award miles, I'll keep doing so.

And the question about Florida's residents... I always wondered why Disney values them more than out of state residents who return and spend a fortune staying at their resorts... Obviously they must make a fortune with them, but it is hard to believe!

Since I'm a bad person and do not pay off my card in full each month I'm interested to know if anyone has heard what the interest rate will be...also any deals for balance transfers?

Normally credit cards only give you a low apr for a few months on balance transfers. AMEX has one of the best I've heard of, keeping it under 4% until it is all paid off...

I have yet to hear about a company that gives you rewards on transfers...
