I would like to have Disney confectionery for my favours. My MIL2B & FIL2B are visiting Florida next month (lucky so and so's) and said they will bring back what i need for our UK wedding, however i'm not sure what type of candy Disney sell that resembles Disney.

We are having a Disneymoon and originally planned to marry out there but had to change our plans and we are gutted about that and so are having a subtle Disney theme running through our day.

Does anyone know if they sell candy in the shape of Mickey heads for example? If so does anyone have any pics that i can show MIL2B so she knows what to get or do they have a special brand name that i can quote? Ive tried looking on the WDW website but cant find anything for candy.

Also do you think there is any other little Disney touches that i could ask them to bring back for me? Maybe a cake knife set or a wedding guest book etc? I had a look at the one's made by David Tutera and they had a warning message on them that they could harm unborn babies? Didnt understand that and thought it must be what they are made out of which i found strange so i want to steer clear of them... not that im expecting but i dont want them in my house when i do start a family if that's the case.

Anyway im rambling now but if anyone knows of any Disney candy that could work for my favours it would be appreciated.

Oh my gosh, Disney has *so* much Disney-esque candy, I don't even know where to start.

I wonder if you posted a thread on the restaurants board for Disney "candy porn" (a la the "food porn" thread they have going there where people post pix of their meals) you might get lots of shots from people.

I guess you'd probably be more interested in the pre-packaged candy than, like, fresh fudge or chocolate-covered strawberries or something that will get stale. This can be found everywhere - shops in the parks, and at World of Disney and Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney. Do your MIL2B & FIL2B have smart phones that they could use to send you pictures of the selection when they get there?

Here's the only pic I have, they are gummy candies shaped like Mickey and Minnie

DF got them in the GF gift shop. All the hotel gift shops have packaged candies in Disney shapes. Main Street confectionary also has packaged candies and cookies, peppermint patties shaped like mickey, chocolate covered coconut patties shaped like mickey, shortbread cookies, mickey money candy bars, so many different things. I can't even remember them all!

Sending you pics would be a great idea, but if that's not possible, try to give them some guidelines to go by since there are so many different things.

ooh, give us a heads up if you do start a candy porn thread!! :goodvibes I'd have to book mark it!

Ok this intrigued me so I had to look it up because it made no sense to me.
You are correct that there is a warning on some of those items. Looks like only the items with the white fabric/paper such as guest book, petal cone, ring pillow. Apparently there is some California law that requires that warning to be posted http://www.nmma.org/supplychain/ca.asp Not that I can make sense of most of that. Anyway as far as the state of California is concerned the cake knife and the toasting glasses are 'safe' so you might want to look into them.

There are also several wedding items not by David Tutera like the Mickey and Minnie cake topper, and customizable champagne flutes from Crystal Arts.

Being a chemistry nerd, I went and investigated this. :rotfl: The chemicals they have listed as potential carcinogens and toxins would most likely have been used in the production of the raw materials for these products, so the paper or the fabric. Given all of the David Tutera paper products are very, very white, I would assume they have undergone a bleaching process. The states law requires that consumers know there may be some residual compounds from the production process still embedded in the final product, most likely in very trace amounts. I am sure all of the David Tutera products are safe, assuming, of course, you do not try and gnaw on 50 paper flower cones or a photo album! :rotfl:

Thanks Carrie, that's good to know that there is lots to choose from :thumbsup2

I dont think they will be able to send me any pics whilst they are there, but like you say i may ask for any "candy porn" pics and then at least i can show them to MIL2B before they leave for their vacation.

That pic is excellent, thank you! I will show it to H2B when he gets home to see what he thinks... so exciting!

Thank you both of you for taking the time to clear that up...

I wasnt planning on eating them :rotfl:

I just thought it strange that Disney would link their name to a chemical that can cause birth defects but i guess like you say chances of this happening are very slim.

I will definitely have a look at the Disney range rather than David Tutera, think they may be more cost effective too :thumbsup2

Here's a pic of a mickey rice crispy treat. I love these things so much that i got a Mickey shaped cookie cutter and made my own at home. This is something you could try.

They also sell giant lollies with mickey on the front of them. I don't see why you couldn't get some plain ones in the UK and put mickey stickers on the front of them.
You can kind of see them in this pic. I think this is from Skylar's wedding.

They also sell lollipops that are mickey shaped ina bunch usually by the register, they come in a group of like 5. They don't taste all that great but they are cute! They also come in other character shapes like Pooh.
