I am wondering if any one has ordered one of these and used it at the parks or just generally around... I'm goin on a solo trip in Sept (free dining woohoo!) and I'm looking for something small that will carry things (cell phone, camera) but would otherwise make cargo pockets be really baggy and awkward to walk around with..

TIA!
Jill

I ordered 2 for DH and myself. I haven't actually used it yet but the quality is very good - sturdy nylon fabric, good zippers, etc. It's actually larger than I thought it was going to be. The 2 main pockets are about 5 inches wide and about 3 inches deep. I'm going to be able to fit my Sony 15x zoom camera in either of them with room to spare and it's not a compact camera. I think the bottom square one will hold a compact rain jacket. The water bottle holder will fit a 16-20 oz bottle. There's not a lot of extra strap - although I'm kind of Pooh sized (16) and it fits me fine. But I think if necessary it wouldn't be hard to add some length to the strap. I think they're going to work out fine in September.

how small is it really cause from the picture on the web site it looks like it might be pretty compact that it would be possible to stuff into a cargo pocket and take out once you get past bag checks at the parks...

It's a lot bigger than it looks in the picture. From the loop at the top down to the curve at the bottom is about 24 inches. Large top pocket is about 9 x 5 x 3 inches deep - square pocket at the bottom is about 5 x 5 x 4 inches deep and the bottom zipper pocket (at the curved end) is about 6 inches long. The back part from the loop down is about the same 24 inches. The water bottle holder is about 9 inches long. It's meant to carry quite a bit of stuff.

I have one and I just went upstairs to see how small I could make it. If you detach the bottle holder and fold it separately, I think you could get it into a cargo pocket, but it would take the whole pocket. Do you have enough pockets to put the other things you want to put in it once you get past bag check?

I just got this bag, it is WAY bigger than it looks for sure. You could carry lots of stuff in it. I do have a really stupid question for anyone who has this bag...is the bulk of the bag, like where the water bottle is and the large pocket supposed to be in the front of you or at the back of you?? It kind of feels comfortable both ways I just wondered what other people thought.

 I had the same problem when mine came! Couldn't believe how BIG it is!! It'll fit everything but DS's extra clothes. I had to remove the water bottle holder, just too much. It'll be perfect, fits my large camera and like I said all the little things I need. And it'll be easier to get around with than a bag!
But anyway, I'm pretty sure the bulk of the bag is meant to be in the front. I tried it in the back but it sure seems unstable, like some of the stuff is likely to fall out that way (upside down?).

Oh no...I finally came to the conclusion that the stuff was supposed to be at the back! I have it going from my left shoulder to my right hip, and it seems that way that all of the pockets are the right side up at the front and at the back. I had read on another thread that one of the disadvantages that somebody thought about this bag was that you had to swing it around to get at anything...meaning that the stuff would be at the back. Does anyone else have the bag?

Guess they need to think about instructions! :goodvibes I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem!!
I did plan to carry it slug on my back like that, seemed like it'd work better but also seemed like stuff might fall out. I'll have to try putting some of the stuff in it and see how it works for me.
