DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

May 6th, 2013 - Sanaa

This morning Mom and I woke up and went to Panera for breakfast. We split a little breakfast sandwich and I got a strawberry smoothie!

Then we went to "I Love Nails" which is in the same plaza! What a fun little mother daughter birthday trip activity! I got light pink finger nails and sparkly purple toe nails. I'm such a princess. My Mom absolutely loved the salon. She thought it was the cutest thing and she loved all of the employees! They are really nice there. Plus it's super close to my apartments so it's a perfect place to go if you're on the DCP!

From there we went over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and had lunch at Sanaa! We were brought right to our table and we got a window table without even asking! That was so magical.

This guy came RIGHT up to the window!

Our waitress took amazing care of us. She was such a sweetheart and she told us all about how her and her family moved down to Florida and she's never been happier. I hope my family and I can move down to Florida together someday.

I got the slow cooked short ribs and the spicy durban shrimp with basmati rice for my meal. They took off my usual from the menu, the green curry shrimp. I was sad but the durban shrimp was actually VERY good.

My Mom started off with a Mango salad:

And then she got the lamb burger for her meal. She REALLY liked that!

And dessert!

Then I believe this was some type of rice pudding? I'm not really sure. Mom liked it though! But then again, what's not to like at Disney?

After that I went to work from 2 to 10:30 pm. Mom dropped me off, I worked all afternoon and night, and then she picked me up from work. We went back to the Marriott for our final night before moving over to a Disney resort!

I was just talking with my mom last week about my whole family moving to FL when we retire in 2019. My mom laughed. I'm hoping she'll move down after we get down there. I miss having my mom just a 20 min car ride away.

Welcome back. Yay for Sanaa. I know I messaged you on twitter while we were on vacation but Sanaa was one of the best meals of our trip. Our waiter told us the menu was changing the very next day. Sorry it was one you liked that got taken off. We will be making Sanaa a must do for all future trips. Hope you are having a fun bday month.

Wow you and my Daughter are twins. When it comes to everything Disney anyways.
She Just returned from the College program in January when you started actually.
I probably would have noticed this thread sooner, but we recently just planned a trip for August, so I started getting involved a bit on the DIS Boards again as I usually do when we plan a trip. My Daughter Amanda was a Life Guard last Summer and after the water park closed for refurb, she changed over to Children Activities which she LOVED Planning and Playing with Kids all day long!!
I am glad there are other kids out there like my Amanda who are obsessed as I am and our whole family. Sometimes I think other people dont get it, and most people think we are nuts because EVERY Vacation we take is to WDW. What isw with that people say. We do not even consider other places. Just when is the next time we can go.
Thanks for this wonderful post and good luck in Life and good luck with that Magical wedding you will have some day. I know it will come true!!

So glad to have you back!
That same bird was at the window throughout our lunch at Sanaa back in September. The waitress told us he somehow figured out a way to get beyond the barriers and had been doing it ever since.
We loved the bread appetizer with the dipping sauces from there. I had the steak for lunch. OMG it was devine!!
Was wondering if maybe you could get some feedback for us? We will be staying at AKL end of August and I was thinking about doing the Wanyama Safari. It is pricey, so I was hoping for some reviews to decide if it is really worth the price. It includes dinner at Jiko. If you have heard anything about this, I'd appreciate some thoughts.

Yay! So glad to see you back, you were missed . I'm sorry you had a sad day but they make us appreciate the happy days even more I think. I give you so much credit for being so far away from your family, it's not easy that's for sure. My mom moved 10 hours away and I don't get to see her very often. Hoping you're feeling better!

awwwww!!! Occasionally we all need big hugs from our moms... Mine is 87 and I still need a hug from her every chance I can get. Hopefully things are MUCH better now.
