DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

March 6th, 2013 (Part 3) - BE OUR GUEST, BE OUR GUEST!!!!!

Matt got his lemonade in the light up goblet. He wanted that goblet SO BAD. I mean, its pretty cool so I cant blame him!

dsc0805rh.jpg

dsc0809h.jpg

It changed colors too! It went from red to blue!

dsc0804m.jpg

They started us out with some delicious dinner rolls. They tasted SO GOOD. Ahhh Be Our Guest makes the ordinary extraordinary.

dsc0808o.jpg

The master made an appearance in the Grand Ballroom! OH MY GOD!!!!!

dsc0810g.jpg

Then we all ordered the steak for dinner. I got it with mashed potatoes. OH MY GOD. IT WAS LITERALLY, ONE OF THE BEST STEAKS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. The flavor was absolutely incredible. I ate the ENTIRE thing because it tasted so good. I couldn't help myself. We were all just DYING. I couldn't have been happier with my decision to get the steak! I highly recommend it.

Preston and Matt got the French fries for their side and they were AMAZING. They were probably some of the best fries any of us had ever eaten. We didn't know that French fries could taste that good.

dsc0811uo.jpg

After indulging in one of the most incredible meals of our lives, it continued and we got THE GREY STUFF! Preston and my 1 year + 1 month anniversary conveniently fell the day before our meal there, so we celebrated! WOOHOO!

dsc0813f.jpg

The grey stuff was... well... DELICIOUS! (Sorry, I had to keep the cliché going.) It was so soft and creamy.

Then we got our real desserts. We each sampled a different type of cupcake!

dsc0818nh.jpg

I got the chocolate one which was DELICIOUS. If you are a big chocolate fan you have to try this. I personally sway towards fruit so the strawberry is still my favorite, but dang, it was still REALLY good. I also got some raspberry sauce to go with it! You got to pick between raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and one other one that I can't remember.

dsc0816x.jpg

Matt got the Strawberry one and he ate it SO fast. He loved it! (But I mean, obviously. Its the best cupcake)

dsc0815m.jpg

Preston tried the lemon meringue cupcake! He actually really loves lemon meringue things so he thought it was super good! YAY FOR ALL OF THE CUPCAKES!!!

dsc0819d.jpg

We took care of the bill, ran to the restroom, and then ventured over into the West Wing to look around a little bit. The boys thought it was so cool in there!!

dsc0820ej.jpg

img9248hx.jpg

Then we had to go meet the master of the castle! He had to go over the dessert menu with Mrs. Potts right before we met him. So we took a couple pictures!

dsc0824ir.jpg

dsc0826y.jpg

We had our Mickey and Minnie shirts on! (:

dsc0821lv.jpg

Once Beast came back we were the first to say hello! He was like... two heads taller than me! HES GIGANTIC!!!! Ahh it was so cool to meet him.

dsc0827ci.jpg

dsc0829s.jpg

It was such a magical dinner! I loved every second of it!

dsc0831pm.jpg

img9252jd.jpg

We said goodbye to the Beast and then we went outside. WISHES WAS GOING ON. LIFE IS SO PERFECT. We had the most incredible view from the castle bridge so we watched the remainder of the show. It was absolutely beautiful.

March 6th, 2013 (Part 4) - A PhilharMagical Night!

WISHES! DREAM A DREAM!

dsc0844b.jpg

WISHES! SET IT FREE!

dsc0845fq.jpg

WISHES! TRUST YOUR HEART! JUST BELIEVE!

dsc0848i.jpg

Then we had a few more Magic Kingdom attractions to hit up! Our first stop was Mickeys PhilharMagic!

dsc0851ip.jpg

Matt had to call his girlfriend so Preston and I went on this by ourselves. He loves the pun AutoMagically so I was excited to finally show him where it originated!

dsc0855e.jpg

Then we had a 3-D glasses photo shoot!

dsc0856of.jpg

Frump transformation. From this...

dsc0857p.jpg

To this.

dsc0858d.jpg

Frump couple.

dsc0859d.jpg

This is my favorite.

dsc0860di.jpg

HAVE A PHILHARMAGICAL DAY!

img9274q.jpg

We went in the theater and we were in the second row. The show was AWESOME as per usual. I was so excited to watch it with him because it was his first time!! This is one of my absolute FAVORITE attractions and I always love showing it to people for their first time. We loved every single part! I was singing along for a while but my sore throat turned into me losing my voice so that had to end, unfortunately. The show was great and got a double thumbs up from this frump couple!

After that, I was FREEZING. All day I kept saying "guys, I really should buy some sweatpants." Eventually after I said that about 3 or 4 times they started to make fun of me, because every time I would mention it I sounded like I just made this discovery that I needed actual pants.

So finally I decided to buy some! I couldn't find the exact ones I wanted... but I was desperate. I got some blue Disney yoga pants at the Fantasyland store. THANK GOD FOR WARMTH.

Since we clearly didn't eat enough food today, we HAD to get some DOLE WHIPS! No but seriously, we couldn't go through a trip without introducing Preston to this classic Disney snack.

dsc0861un.jpg

HOORAY DOLE WHIPS!!!!!!!!!!

dsc0862m.jpg

YAY YAY YAY.

dsc0864nj.jpg

We finished those up and then set sail on the Jungle Cruise! Our skippers name was Adam and he was HILARIOUS. The boys were laughing their butts off. Seriously, his sense of humor was the exact sarcastic tone that they both love. It really made for an enjoyable ride-through. I cant even remember the exact jokes that he made but they were FUNNY. He didn't even say all of the jokes, he just said the important ones and made them REALLY hilarious.

After that, Matt went on the Haunted Mansion and Preston and I went over to the PeopleMover. Preston couldn't believe that the PeopleMover actually went inside of buildings! He had no idea that you got sneak peaks at so many rides. NOW HE UNDERSTANDS MY LOVE. He thought it was awesome!!

img9275i.jpg

Then Matt met us over at Space Mountain. We used some fastpasses and got in our cars. We were all strapped in and set to go. Then we went into the loading dock before the first tunnel!

Then we were STILL sitting there. We were very entertaining for the people waiting in the queue line next to us. We were the models of what you should look like on Space Mountain.

img9276f.jpg

img9277n.jpg

After a while we were STILL there. A cast member came to talk to us to inform us of technical difficulties. (no. way.)

Then THE LIGHTS CAME ON. People, I dont think you know but its one of my life goals to see Space Mountain with the lights on. Literally, if I was on ONE car ahead of me, I would have seen. We were literally SO CLOSE but not quite inside of the main building. AH IT CRUSHED MY HEART.

The good news though is that after they manually unlocked our seat belts, we were given free fastpasses for the Magic Kingdom because we had to be evacuated from the ride.

img9278m.jpg

img9279j.jpg

Ah well. It was a fun story to tell anyway. We left the park and it was COLD. I realized that the pants I bought were one size too big, so I had to go to the Emporium and exchange them. Preston and I found ONE small left, (thank God!!!) so I made the switch, changed my pants, and then caught the monorail to the Contemporary!

We walked through the gift shops for about 10-15 minutes, and then they closed at 11 pm. We drove back to Art of Animation. I FOUND IT WITHOUT MY GPS! Guys, thats a big deal.

I didn't even have enough energy to write about this day when I got back. I was so exhausted. I fell right to sleep!

He loves the pun AutoMagically so I was excited to finally show him where it originated!

Just had to comment - my kids never even use the word "automatically" anymore. It's always "automagically", which is quickly followed by "Mom, when are we going back?!?!" :goodvibes

Awesome updates as always. I can't wait to see BOG in August - B&B is my absolute favorite movie ever, and every time a see a picture I get so excited! :cool1:

LOVE MK at night! And the Jungle Cruise at night is so fun! We were on the People Mover one time when they had the lights on in Space Mountain and I was craning my head all over the place to try to see it all with the lights on - I wanted the People Mover to break down just at that point where you're looking in to SM, but no such luck! hahaha!

Great updates!!!! :goodvibes

LOVE the picture of "The Three Amigos" saluting at Mission:SPACE!They look SO serious!TOO FUNNY!:)

I can't believe The Grey Stuff was also in the shape of a rose! There is nothing like DISNEY DETAIL!:)

I wish you could have jumped over to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover and rode it through a lighted Space Mountain, but it looks like it was pretty late so Park Closing may have happened before you could get to it.:)

I want that BOG steak....NOW!!!!:)

Hey! I know I haven’t been commenting that much recently but I swear I’ve been reading along, I just knew you’re super busy and figured less reading would be fun haha.

YUM! Bread pudding, that idea is genius with croissants!

Of course Disney grass is clean! Heck, Disney is the one place I will comfortably sit on the ground with no worries! How someone has never been on the monorail I will never know!

Ugh, BOG for dinner is just too amazing, I can’t help but tear up thinking about it haha! Love that lemonade! They’ve got it at a bunch of places now and I’m all for it! I also really wanted one of those cups but just couldn’t do the price hahaha! Glad to hear the steak was good, if you go back, you should definitely try the mac and cheese that comes as a side with the pork chop, I had that and thought of you, I think you’d like it haha. Do you remember who your server was?

I adore those shirts, they’re SO CUTE! I love watching Wishes from FLE is beautiful! Love that you guys are so frumpy together! Aw man you guys were so close to seeing space all lit up, I know a friend was there earlier in the week and jumped on the Peoplemover when it was down to see the inside, I freaked over the pictures on facebook baha!

Jess I absolutely love your trip reports!!!! I had no idea you were doing the college program because I have been away from the DISboards for too long! I was up in the middle of the night feeding my little Disney Princess (11 weeks old) and decided to look at the boards and that's when I found your report!!!!
I LOVE reading about all your adventures while living and working at DISNEY! You have so much energy, I am in awe :)
I'm so glad you had so much fun with Preston and your friends! I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip and of course the rest of your college program.

Don't let negative people even bother you, you seem like such a wonderful and sweet person :)

Just read your whole report up to date! I'm going down April 4th-6th (Birthday trip) and I love meeting DISers, even better when they work AT Disney! If your willing to meet up, let me know! Groups are even better!

Love all the updates. Esp the Be our Guest pics. I'm in Beauty and the Beast in like 11 days :cheer2:

omg i love the space mountain pics lol those r too funny,i always laugh at the jungle cruise eventhough i'm usually the only one ohwell

Subbing in! I've been off these boards for a while and I had no idea you were doing the CP. I've enjoyed reading your other TR's and I have been spending the last few days getting caught up on this one.

I'm so happy for you that you are following your dream. I hope you enjoy every day that you live there, since this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm really enjoying hearing the details about the CP. It has to be so much work for you to keep up your busy life & this TR! You are a rock star. :smokin:

Subbing to this! I follow your adventures (and occasionally pipe up!) on Instagram and twitter. I really wish I had known there was a DCP when I went to school- you are living my absolute dream :)

We were there for NY's, and rode SM with the lights completely on.....it was very WEIRD! we received FP to ride again and 2 days later when we went back to ride, a few lights we on again ....very strange!

Love to read your TRs. I heard about you being Thread of month on the Dis podcast and realized, I haven't been on to see if you had been to WDW lately. Just caught up and have to say, beautiful job and pictures as usual. Enjoy the time you have there and remember that there are a LOT of us following you that wish we were having the same experiences.
Oh, and have a Mickey bar for me....and some of that delicious artichoke spinach dip. Sigh!

A week ago the people mover was down so some lights were on. It was a strange feeling. I kept feeling like I was going to hit my head. Glad you a had a great time with your friends.

I still haven’t tried the croissant bread pudding. That is probably because I am OBSESSED with the strawberry shortcake…

FISHES. So cute!

I have never gone on Mission Space, and I am a thrill ride kinda girl! Some day…

Excuse me while I go sit in a corner and sob over Wonders of Life.

WHY DIDN’T I KNOW THERE WAS A RED VELVET WHOOPIE PIE?! How have I lived?!

Be Our Guest for dinner is amazing. I ate there in November and I was BLOWN AWAY.

I didn’t even know about that lemonade! I will have to try it next time.

Wishes from New Fantasyland is AMAZING. It is like the show was MADE for NF.

I have been frumpified!:lmao: I find myself using the word 'FRUMPY' quite often now.

I have always enjoyed your trip reports but I am absolutely enthralled by your DCP experience. Thank you so much!
