February 26th, 2013 - Hollywood Studios and Kona!
This morning I woke up around 10 am and I got a text from Mark. He asked if I was up and if I wanted to go to Hollywood Studios before class. Umm& YES.
So I threw on some clothes and make-up and we went over to Hollywood! Sergio, Russell, Mark, and I were going to the park, and we dropped Raymond off for work because he works at Pizza Planet.
Mark and I went to Toy Story Mania!
After that we were hungry! All I had for breakfast was a little yogurt so I needed to get some lunch! We decided to go to PIZZA PLANET! I had to make up for my lack of it last night.
We got in line and it moved so slowly. But eventually we got our food and went upstairs to eat! I got a salad and cheese pizza!
Mark got the meatball sub! He doesn't like pizza. (I know, crazy right!?!)
He also got the cutest souvenir cup EVER!! I may have to go back and buy that.
I needed to try that cappuccino cupcake because everyone says how good it is. It was delicious!
After Pizza Planet, Mark and I headed out and went to class.
During this time I was dealing with quite an issue. It is a subject I just have to touch on here, because I want to avoid this as much as possible in the future.
I got two comments this morning sarcastically asking me, do you ever even work? Also, last week I got comments about how much food I consume.
For the most part, all of my followers are wonderful and supportive of my adventures here in Disney. However, there have been some comments lately that offended me and actually made me a bit upset. I don't let them ruin anything per say, but they are thoughts that bother me in the back of my mind.
I just wanted to send a general message out there to please think before you comment. I dont have to share my experiences at all, but I choose to because I know that these Disney stories bring a lot of magic into many peoples lives! However, when people comment on my work ethic, how much I eat, or how much money I spend, it does make me quite uncomfortable. I am a smart girl and I am confident that I make very good decisions.
I just wanted to clarify so there is no further confusion: I do work five days a week. On the two days I am supposed to have off, I take classes for college. So I really dont have a lot of actual full days off. Sometimes I get out early from work or I work late, so I go to the parks during my free time. As a CP, that is what you do. Typically my shifts are 8.5 hours, so I promise Im not sitting around and wasting my time away. If I live 10 minutes from a Disney park... why wouldn't I go, ya know?
Also, you all know that Preston is coming down this weekend. So yes, I am taking off of work for 6 days. We are going to a have a vacation with all of our friends for spring break so I will be going to the parks and I will be eating a TON of food. So if I post an excessive amount of park pictures, I promise I am not slacking. This is just my vacation time and I am REALLY looking forward to it!
Im sorry to go off on a rant, but I was very hurt today when people were telling me I was tasteless with my responses to these comments and the fact that I need to grow up because people are always going to judge me. I know people are always going to judge. It's part of life. Im in a theatre department and if anyone knows judgment, we do.
I understand that it is difficult to understand the DCP if you have never done it but this is how we live. We work hard and then we play in the parks during our free time. We eat Disney food and we hang out with our new friends from all over the world. We live in Disney World and we are trying to live every day to the fullest!
Its very unfortunate that I have to justify my lifestyle, but the message needed to be spread. I just really wanted to ask for some respect from anyone who is tempted to make similar comments in the future. I am not out there to brag about my program. I am not out there to make bad choices. I am just sharing photos and stories of what is happening in my life right now, and if that is not okay with you, please dont waste your time reading. I dont have the energy to deal with negativity or criticism, especially when there is absolutely nothing wrong with how I am living my everyday life.
Thank you for reading this general announcement. I think because I share so many details about my everyday adventures that many people feel like they know me personally, but unfortunately I only know a small group of you for real. Thank you for sharing your advice, but if it is going to be even slightly offensive, I would rather have you keep it to yourself. Even if its a joke, it still hurts. Please just keep the comments positive because I promise I wont do anything that is in my poor interest. As you can probably tell by this trip report, I am very good at time management and I can handle quite a lot at once. I am a big girl and I have to make my own life choices. If I really need extra advice I will talk to my family. Thank you for your concern, but please just read the reports for pure entertainment. Thats what theyre here for and I dont want them to cause any unnecessary stress on either end!
PHEW. Alright, rant over.
I picked up my packages from the clubhouse and my new phone case came in!! I needed a phone case with a little extra cushion to it instead of just a basic hard case, so I found the Haunted Mansion case on etsy.com that is PERFECT! I'm in love!!!!!!
So after everything died down, Mark, his roommates Sergio and Shane, and I decided that we should go out to dinner! None of us had work tonight so that was a reason to celebrate!
Mark made us a reservation at Kona and we were SO excited. Kona is Marks favorite restaurant, Im OBSESSED with the food& especially THE BREAD, and Shane and Sergio have never been there before!!
We drove over there and listened to Dream Along With Mickey the whole way there. Mark is convinced that hes the voice of Peter Pan, so he always loves to sing SEIZE THE MOMENT, LET YOUR FANTASIES AND DREAMS SET SAAAAIL! Hahaha hes a child at heart.
So we checked in about 20 minutes before our reservation and they told us we would be called at our reservation time, 6:50 pm.
So Sergio and I went downstairs and looked at the pin book at the front desk. I found Chef Duffy, another World Showcase Duffy, and a Donald 2013 pin that I traded for! YAY!
We went back upstairs and then it was time to eat! It was so funny because we got seated at the same table as when Mark and I went there right before our program with my Mom!
We were all starving so we went all out tonight! IT WAS FEASTING TIME!!!!!!!!!
We started off with THE BREAD. Surge and Shane were so impressed. Not that I'm surprised. IT'S THE BEST BREAD IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!
I got the California Roll for my appetizer. SO YUMMY OH MY GOODNESS.
I accidentally got a little bit of wasabi on one of my pieces of sushi and it was literally one of the most painful experiences OF MY LIFE. The wasabi like invaded my sinus cavities and I thought my head was going to explode!!!!! That's the scariest thing I have ever eaten. Thankfully after about 20 seconds it went away. AHHH WASABI.
Shane got the Shrimp Tempura Roll. We swapped sushis so we could try both. I REALLY liked that one too! It was so different from what I was used to! Maybe Ill try that kind next time!
Mark got the pot stickers which he LOVED.
Then as far as entrees, Mark, Shane, and I all got the steak. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DISNEY MEALS. The steak always tastes phenomenal and the rice tastes SO good with the teriyaki sauce!
Sergio got the Pan Asian noodles with Chicken and he said they were SO GOOD. They looked really delicious!
Then I wasnt going to get dessert& but IT HAPPENED. I got the fondue and it was SUCH a good choice. The fruit was so fresh and the chocolate was so smooth. Also, the little coconut cookie was amazing!!!
Mark got the Pineapple Upside Down Cake which is usually my choice of dessert at Kona. SO YUMMY!
Then Shane got the Banana and Chocolate Crème Brulee. He really liked it!
We left Kona and went back to the apartments. We needed to get home in time for Mark to watch Dance Moms! We listened to What Makes You Beautiful on the way home and decided thats the theme song of our reality show Patterson Court: The Gated Community.
We got back to the apartments and I put away my pins. I went over to Marks apartment and I got caught up on my trip report.
