Disney Collection Question

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how difficult or easy it is to book a disney collection hotel (specifically yacht club) using points. I know this is not the best use of points, but as we have had several weddings to attend this year with OOP hotel costs, we would prefer not paying cash again for lodging. I was wondering how long I should wait to see if waitlists come through vs. booking yacht club now just to have a bird in hand. Are the disney collection hotels usually still available 2 months pretrip, or are they limited in supply and generally not still available that close to trip time? Sorry for the long winded question. Thanks!

I booked POFQ one time about 3 weeks before for a stay in mid October.

Once you book the Disney Collection, you cannot use the points for DVC if your waitlist comes through.

Similar to the Disney Vacation Club resorts, the Disney Collection hotels are based on availability, so if available, you should be able to make your reservation at the Yacht Club.

Also remember that you will the charged the $95 transaction fee because your reservation will be made outside of the DVC resorts.
