Disney Collection question?

If I book a 5 day stay at one of those resorts on points (Poly/GF/YC) and want to add one day to the end for cash for a total of a 6 day stay, can that be done? I would assume that I would need to make one reservation for points (5 days) and then make a 1 day reservation for cash. Would I be able to do both via member services or would I have to call CRO for the 1 night cash reservation? Also, could the reservations be linked together so that I don't have to change rooms for that last night? Would I have to do a check in/out on that 6th day and get new room keys etc? Also would I be able to get the DDP for all 6 days or book that twice as well? Thanks in advance.

MS can't make the cash reservation. You'd have to do that through DRC and it would be a different reservation - meaning you might/probably will have to move. They couldn't be linked.

You wouldn't be able to get the dining plan without a package deal. DVC doesn't do packages.

Thanks very much for the response. The Disney Collection 2010 points chart just came out and are listed on the DVC web site this afternoon. So I just called them and told them to do all 6 days on points at the Poly club level. Can't wait for next April lol, this stay will be right after our first Disney Cruise!

You can get the Dining Plan for a stay at a non-DVC WDW resort if it's booked for points.

So the OP could get the DP for the first 5 nights booked through MS, but not the 1 night booked through CRO/DRC.

To get the DP through CRO/DRC, you do have to purchase a package and IIRC, there is a minimum stay requirement of at least 3 nights.
