A ride operator was struck by a moving car on Primeval Whirl. Apparently she was on the ride platform.:sad2: I think I read that she was in her 60s.
Prayers and pixie dust for her family.

Apparently she didn't die yet.
OSHA released some information too early.
But she is in Critical Condition.

This is all from what I've read.

She got trauma to the head, but she was awake after the hit and looked fine.
The other day it turned for the worse.
There's nothing saying that she's actually dead though.

Yeah, just read this on the CB. So sad. I hope she makes it!
Prayers and pixie dust for her and her family! :wizard:

Oh that thing goes fast when it comes in. It's like shwooooom STOP!
I hate that ride, the corners are scary.
That's sad though, old people getting hurt is sad

i can see how she's in a bad condition.
but as an employee myself, i know that we are taught that "Safe D" is the most important thing. safety above anything else is the number one priority at all times no matter where you are. so she must've had some sort of valid reason why on earth she'd be on the tracks while the animation for the ride was active.

I want to know why she was out there.

this is also a thread on the Theme Parks Board and they say she had a Seizure wile in a "Restricted" Aera

A Disney employee who fell from a ride platform over the weekend died Thursday evening, according to Disney officials. The woman was identified by Orange County Sheriff's Office as Karen Price, 63. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

"Our sympathies are with the family tonight," said Jacquee Polak, Disney spokeswoman. "We offer them our support during this difficult time."

Price was a ride attendant on the Primeval Whirl, a roller coaster type ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom. She stepped into a restricted area on a platform and was hit by a moving car.

i hope the family gets through this hard time!

Thanks for the link. (OP, include that next time that way we know we're you're getting the information ;))

At first I didn't know what ride it was until I saw the picture on the news article. Hmm, so she got hit by standing in front of it while people were getting on the thing or what? I'm confused as to how she got struck by it.

Wow, I hope she's okay.
Irrelevant side note: I hate that ride. It's so not Disney. You can find the same generic ride at any amusement park or fair.

::yes:: The way that they set it up is just so..carnival-ish. It's just not Disney. Plus, that ride hurts my hip :(
