We are spending our New Year's Eve at home watching Swiss Family Robinson. The kids are enjoying it so much, it had me thinking. Wouldn't it be neat if there was a Disney classic channel? One that showed all the old classic movies and the classic tv shows like Davy Crockett.

I would love to have a Disney Classics channel. One that would have all of the old cartoons and old movies, like The Parent Trap (the one with Hayley Miles, not Lindsey Lohan!)

I have this thought every time we go to WDW. I would like to have a channel like this at home but especially in Disney.

The old MMCHs would be great! I would also like to see Mouserscise although that is not that old.

I loved the movies that Disney channel played when I was a kid- Summer Magic, The Happiest Millionare, Pollyanna, The Spanish Main, Treasure Island, Beach Blanket Bingo, tons of wonderful older family friendly films.

Oh my gosh I would love that!! They could show the old "The wonderful world of walt disney" shows that were on every saturday night!
The wilderness/nature ones that had the narrator....oh how I loved them. Would love to find or see them again.

We saw the one about the yellowstone cubs a few months ago. Our library had it. My kids loved it!

When the Disney channel first came on this was what they did play. It was great, then they began producing these silly merchandising producing shows and all the good old stuff went out the window.

Now I know they are in business to make money but instead of endless reruns of the same sitcom couldn't they show a few of the golden oldies?

When I was a kid in the 80's, D-TV was my favorite:banana:.
It's when M-TV first came out, and I guess to compete for kids attention, the Disney Channel showed classic Mickey, Donald, and Goofy cartoons set to rock music. I loved those music videos and would drop what ever I was doing and run to the TV, every time I heard one come on. I wish they would bring that back.
Also, another show I miss is Fraggle Rock. I found a DVD of that show at a thrift store the other day and got it. My kids love it.:thumbsup2

I totally forgot about D-TV. I loved watching the old cartoons and Totally Minnie! I also loved the Disney cartoon movies--Coyote Tales. It took me years to find all of the Pluto cartoons from that movie.

We have been doing classic movies this holiday season, like Sound of Music and Wizard of Oz. A disney movie channel would be awesome!

I loved the Wonderful World of Disney too, all those old classics are great.

My favorite used to be the Disney Vault, (I think that's what it was called) when they used to play the old cartoons or Wonderful World of Disney shows say, after 9 or 10 PM.

I wish that they played all of the old cartoons more often. I miss it, and it's hard to find on the internet.

One summer we requested all of the older Disney movies our library had in it's collection and did family movies nights. It was great. The kids loved the older movies and many of them were new to dh and I or we hadn't seen them since we were children.

I'd love if Disney would show some of them on Disney Channel.

On the night I posted this they played a classic black and white Mickey cartoon on the Disney Channel set to the tune of "Another One Bites the Dust", by Queen. They called it a Disney Re-Micks. So maybe they are coming back with a new version of D-TV afterall!
