Hi everyone!

I have seen if all of the holiday brouchers that disney is very cheap at the end of november / early december. We are thinking about going then though have heard it can be really busy at christmas!!! Though with it being that cheap we wondered if it sint busy at that time yet?

can any of you offer any help?

One of the least busy times is between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas week is the most busiest time at WDW, with at least Magic Kingdon reaching capacity early on Christmas Day.
Flights will always be cheaper out of school holiday times. We are going 2 days before schools close for Christmas - if we had waited and gone when the schools were off the flights would have been another £300 more each!

We are going this year from the 15th until the 29th. Reading from past reports, we are hoping that we get at least a few days of lower crowds before things start to pick up for Christmas week :)

All the Christmas decorations and special events run right through from after Thanksgiving to New Year, so even going early December you still get the Christmas atmosphere.

The only things that you may miss out on are the Disney water parks. They close for rehad in December, although at least one opens during Christmas week.

I don't think the water parks are ever closed at the same time - this year BB is closed through Dec 'til Dec 25, and then TL will go down for rehab.

Just checked dates - Typhoon Lagoon closes on Dec .25th, Blizzard Beach closes Oct. 23 until Dec .24th :)

I was confused because there were no December hours posted on the Disney site for Typhoon Lagoon :)

I know - it's been making me edgy for a while now! I know that TL won't go down for rehab 'til Dec 25 but I just want Disney themselves to confirm!! :rotfl:

Disney is not busy for the first 2 weeks in December! and it is a great time to visit! really magical.

Thats good to hear - i was having doubts about crowds as I've read that its 'Pop Warner' week (whatever that is :confused3 ) and lots of people have been trying to avoid these dates??? Also I've read that they do filming for Xmas at MK during the first weekend of December and I was getting a bit concerned about this too!!

Anyway I'm on count down and looking forward to it whatever the crowd levels!! :thewave:

'Pop Warner Week' is a an event held at Disney's Wide World of Sports and consists of a junior American Football competition and a junior Cheerleading competition!

Competitors stay at various WDW resorts (mainly value, but some overflow into moderates). You may be lucky and not see or hear any evidence of the event, or you may see groups of teenage cheerleaders 'practicing' their cheers at the resorts and in the parks.

We flew out on Nov 28 last year for 11 days - it was an excellent time to go.

We struck lucky with the weather - was in high 70s the whole time - although it did dip drastically just after we left

Parks were quiet

MVMCP was good & Osborne lights were fantastic - although it was really strange meeting Father Christmas and hearing Christmas carols whilst wearing shorts :D

Would definitely go again at that time of year if it didn't mean the girls missing so much school :)

And that's when we arrived, LOL

Be prepared that the weather may be chilly! They closed the pools and were wrapping all the shrubs up some nights. We had very few what I would call "nice sunny Florida days". I believe we were unlucky with the weather but I have to be honest and say I am unlikely to consider going again in December for a number of years (if at all).

Having said that there are some fabulous reasons to go then: very low crowds (ie, none), MVMCP, Osbourne Lights, Candlelight Processional etc. So I am very glad I did it. And no doubt if the weather had been a little better for us, I would go again at that time. As always, it's your own personal experience that colours your judgement for future :)

It definately was my favorite time of year to go! Thats why im getting married there next december!

Thank you for all your advice!

We are planning on going in 2007 and am just trying to work out when is best to go. We want to try something different when we go and thought christmas would be lovely.
