I have a tree skirt my grandmother made me years ago when I was still in high school and just started collecting Mickey stuff. It's felt, with lots of beads and sequins and she put Mickeys alternating with Christmas trees and other things like bells, wreaths, etc...For the ornaments on the trees on the skirt, she sewed on the tiny little plastic charms (like you get from gum machines) because my grandfather worked for a vending company and we always had tons of "gum machine stuff" when we were kids.

It's very special to me...

I have some Mickey village pieces, tons of Mickey ornaments and a Mickey tree topper. I have my other non-Disney ornaments on my tree as well, because I only have room for one tree in this house. I also put white lights, red bows, and way back deep in the branches cheap red and green glass balls. I saw it on some decorating show one year that the light reflects off of the balls and makes the tree really sparkle and look more full. I probably have enough stuff just for a Mickey tree, so if I ever get a bigger house I'm all set :D

If you live in the Orlando area or St. Augustine there are Disney World outlet stores there. (I don't know if there are any elsewhere.) You can find ALL SORTS of discounted items from WDW including Christmas ornaments. They are at least 50% off the park price. The stores are in the Beltz Outlet Malls and are called Character Premier and Character Warehouse. I LOVE those stores!

Now that you've seen the nice reasonable answers...

This is my parents house, and I am responsible for the decorating.

I don't remember what the number of trees was that year, I think about 36.

WOW!!!! You must have started decorating in July! How long did it take to accumulate all those decorations?

My parents started collecting Christmas decorations when they got married in 1974. As much Disney as there is there, there is an equal amount of non-Disney, if you can believe it. About 1995, my parents decided to specialize in just Disney decorations.

For forever, we had a rule that Christmas decorations could not be put up until after the Thanksgiving dinner dishes were cleaned. But in 1998, my parents joined a Disney collector's group called the NFFC, and they started hosting the yearly Christmas party. There was no way to get everything up by the time of the party, if we started after Thanksgiving, so the new rule became "November 1st." The party would be around the 10th of December, so that's about 40 days worth of work.

The going down part is a lot faster, less than 2 weeks.

The pictures are from 2002, the last year they went up because the decorator, (ie. me) moved from Washington to Arizona.

That's just so unreal! :earseek: And to think I have been dreading putting up my one tree! ;)
