Disney Christmas decorations

I am trying to make a "Disney-themed" Christmas tree this year. Has anyone done anything similar?

Nope, but I did see cute Disney Hallmark Ornaments that would look cute on a Christmas tree.

Yep, we rotate our decorations every now and then....so I have a total Mickey tree every couple of years. I do buy the Hallmark Disney but have an annual tradition of visiting Disneyland at Christmas so I always pick up new ornaments. Mickey is even on our tree topper!

Some of my favorites are the glass ornaments in the Mickey icon head shape. They come in quite a few colors.

I started doing a Mickey tree in our playroom last year. I'm sure I didn't approach this project in the most economical fashion, but I bought a Mickey tree topper and personalized tree skirt from the Disney catalog. And I LOVE the storybook ornaments offered through the catalog. So we went ahead and got a few "core" starters (Mickey through the Years, Princesses, etc.). Then I got one set for DD2 and DS4 each, according to their current fascination. (Nemo and Peter Pan). I did wait for free shipping and the holiday discount promotion, so it wasn't too bad. And we're adding a couple more sets this year.

Sounds like great-looking trees! For my Disney tree, I already have several ornaments from the Christmas store at Downtown Disney. McDonalds has Madame Alexander Disney dolls in their "Happy Meals" now, and I've gotten a couple of those. I'm going to attach ribbon to them and make them ornaments. I also thought of attaching ribbon to my Christmas-themed pins and hanging them.
I didn't know the Disney catalog is still around. Does it have a website?

We have one "regular" tree and one disney tree. We use Mickey Mouse ears as a tree topper. I have a Disney tree skirt and tons of disney ornaments and even mickey parts lights.

I also have 3 different disney christmas villiages.

The regular tree has all our other stuff but gets some disney ornaments since we have so many

you could weave that green tree garland around banisters and such, and attatch mickey oranments and stuff (for lack of a better word). you can also make mickey head ornaments yourself. take two small ornaments and one large or medium ornament (these are the round balls) of the same color, like red, white, green, blue, or do a patriotic one with each ear red or white and the fac blue, or however you want to do it. take the gold hanging part off the top of the ornament. use a hot glue gun to glue to ears, top side down onto the bigger ball. gllue a ribbon on the back and voila! you're done!

My sister's Christmas decorations are all Disney. It's very cute. She rotates between all green or white lights on her tree. She puts all disney ornaments on it. She animated Mickey and Minnie that she sets by her fireplace, and her stocking holders are Mickey/Minnie heads.

Daisymae-- do you happen to have a picture of those mickey head ornaments you described? I would love to make some but I'm having trouble picturing what you do with the part that sticks up after you take off the gold hanging part. Does this make sense??

A couple years ago, for the ornament exchange, I made Mickey snowmen out of Crayola's Model Magic. I just pushed an eyelet into the top for a hangar. I thought they turned out cute.

I also made tin punch Mickey icon ornaments out of lemonade juice can lids. I put some white eyelet around the edge (on the back) with a hot glue gun & added a red bow out of 1/8" ribbon. I don't put anything on the back as I like to see the light through them.

Ok i have a tree of just pooh characters..I have been collecting pooh for 8 yrs now ..Back then they had all kinds of pooh ornamnets then now they are harder and harder to come by. So this is what i do..You know the small plastic play sets they have at the disney store and even in some stores like walmart..Nemo, pooh ,mickey ,the princesses ..Anyway i buy then on sale or clearence, then i get small very small screws with little loops on them and i screw them in the head or on the back and wala you have disney ornaments or whatever...I have even done this with key rings the dollar store had a bunch 2 yrs ago i just undid the key ring part and you have a ornament.. all you add is ribbon or gold cording and wala..Oh i have a blast i went through the toy box looking for tely tubbies i made them into orns for my son who loved them at the time..I got brther bear last yr at walmart for 5 $ and i did this for my little girl.. She wants a disney tree when she grows up so every year i buy these themeedplay set and turn them into orns... Have fun they will be alot cheaper ..I just saw nemo and my mind went racing ........lol

I have a Mickey tree that we use in our library. A few years ago after Christmas was over, I was at our Disney Store and they had Santa Mickey beanie babies for like 75 cents. I bought almost every single one there was- about 20. I use those as the base decorations for my tree and wreath and add white lights and bright red round tree lights on the tree. I also buy the Hallmark ornaments on clearance and use those for the tree. Each year my tree gets fuller and fuller! The main colors on the tree are red/black and white. I use bows I've made with black checked ribbon and red ribbon. Too fun!!

I've just discovered this board, and am having such fun reading all the ideas ya'll come up with! I love the idea of the Mickey and Pooh trees! I'm going to start some brainstorming of my own, and maybe I can come up with something for our upcoming Disney Christmas trip! Thanks!

It has colored mini lights on it and ornaments that have been given to us, bought frow WDW and Hallmark or wherever I find them. We have a tree skirt from WDW and this year I bought the Tinkerbell tree topper from my Disney Store.

It would be great if we could start this thread again after we all put up our trees and post pictures.

I've made my own Mickey head ornaments by using two sizes of styrofoam balls. I used low temp hot glue to connect the balls, the smaller balls forming the ears.
After they were made and dry, I used a spray glue all over the heads and then coated the balls with glitter. I hooked a ribbon to the top of the head with the hot glue and secured it with a straight pin.

I'm really excited because I just saw a holiday commercial for Lowes. They have Disney Christmas balls that light up. The 2 shown had Snow White and Eeyore. I can't wait to get to Lowes!

You can also make Mickey Mouse orniments using 2 inch black pompoms for the ears and gluing them on a decorated glitter syrofoam ball or any solid round orniment. I attached a ribbon with a pin at the top for a bow.

Cute! I hadn't thought of that, so I may have to try it. I was trying to figure out an easy way to have MM ornaments for our tree at Disney this Christmas!

I did have this one idea, but I haven't finished it yet. I hope I get all my "ideas" worked up this weekend. Anyway, I bought some cute little stockings at Big Lots for 20 cents apiece. I thought it would be cute to get the clip art pictures and put one on each stocking with the iron-on transfer sheets, then write each person's name at the top on the white band of the stocking. Now I've just got to look for the pictures to fit the stockings!
