Disney Chase Visa Discount Issue

Just returned from a wonderful weekend trip at OKW! We were not on the DDP this time and opted to pay out of pocket which worked out great for this trip. We have the Disney Visa and I always keep a list of the participating restaurants in a note on my phone so I remember to use the card to pay for the meal instead of swiping our Magic Bands. A little less convenient, but I'll take it for the savings!

Well, we had our last lunch at Tiffins (first time for us!) and it was great. The waiter was adamant that they do not participate in the Visa discount, but the website says they do without any restrictions. Do I have any recourse? It was a pricey meal so the discount certainly helps. We had no issues at Olivia'a Cafe, Flying Fish or Kona Cafe which also all participate.
 
Call Disney and tell them. Hold onto that receipt, if necessary you might have to scan it and send it to them to prove what you paid and that there was no discount. Good luck!
 
I was at Tiffins a month ago and our waitress said they do participate in the Visa discount, but the ROL package does not qualify for the discount (we had the package).

I feel for you. I would definitely call or write an e-mail to guest services. When I first got my Disney Visa, we went to Captain's Grille (now Ale & Compass) for lunch. When I asked our server for our discount, she said it would be processed by Disney Visa after we paid our bill and that the restaurant had nothing to do with processing the discount. I believed her and never asked for my discount at any other restaurant on that trip thinking it would just appear on my cc statement. Well, of course, she was wrong and I missed out on receiving my discount at every single restaurant that qualified. Argh.

In my younger years I would probably have done the same thing. Now that I am a cranky old lady, in the OP's case, since they were sure they were right, a manager should have been consulted. It can be hard to be assertive, but this case shows it is sometimes necessary.

I am you now!!! Lesson SO learned after that experience. I now have all the Disney Visa discounts on my phone to show the server should there be an issues and, yes, manager would be called for back-up, now, if needed!
 
How much of a discount is it ? . How many restaurants on the list ?
