After the whole Nemo thing, I started wondering...

Are there any main characters in movies that have both parents alive?

So far, I have thought of:

Sleeping Beauty (She has to leave)
Mulan (also leaves)

Am I on crack here? Are those two right? Are there any others?

So did Wendy, Michael & John. :) I loved their father, he was a hoot!

Geesh, I cannot think of any.

Snow White - both parents are dead, Right?
Cinderella - same
Ariel - Triton dad, where is mom?
Belle - Dad, non mom
Pocohontas - Didn't see the movie, but I don't think her mom is around.

Oh! Simba! At the beginning of the Lion King, Simba has both parents! But of course dad dies, so can he be counted?

Sometimes it isn't clear if the parents are eead. For example, in Toy Story.......where's Andy's Dad? Even Sid has both parents.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Aurora63 - I know! There are sooo many with the whole loss of a parent/orphan sort of theme.

This question was posed, and I was pretty much stopped dead in my tracks.

Even recently, Andy just has a mom (although it's not central to the movie)
Snow White, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty, Aladdin, and even Sleeping Beauty all have a *parent* problem.

I don't have any problem with it, but now that I'm thinking about it, I find it fascinating!

No..No..Shannon, we are talking about "Real" Disney movies :p

Bambi has both parents till the end. Basically, Disney doesn't seem to be able to hold together a plot without a tragedy to one (or both) of the parents. (Even Walt!) SAD!

I, too, have often wondered about Andy's dad, esp. w/ such a young sister, but felt that the reason they were moving was because of a recent divorce. Just reading between the lines.

Pochantas' mom is dead.

101 Dalmatians, 2 parents (both human and canine)

As far as I know, Christopher Robin has 2 parents, he did in real life, but I doubt that counts.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head

BTW, I LOVED Finding Nemo.
