Disney Character Interactions/memories

My first trip as a child in the early 80's, was before you had to queue for the characters and you just randomly encountered them in the park. Usually a mob scene if you can remember that time. I was 8 and loved Jiminy Cricket. we ran into him and I was very shy (not like me at all.) He started waltzing with me in the middle of the Hub. I still try to find him whenever I am there.

My son's first trip, we went to MNSSHP on our last night. DS was dressed like the red Power Ranger. We met Cinderella and Prince Charming. Cinderella kissed DS on the forehead. Charming said something about Power Rangers being do brave. DS would not let me wipe the bright red lipstick off his head and told random people in line the rest of the night that "his prince" told him he was brave.

Next trip, DS was in line outside the gates of AK where characters would line up to meet in the morning. Goofy and Donald were side by side, different lines to meet them but they were torturing each other. Just as DS got up to Donald, Goofy ran over and jump on Donald. Althpugh not intentional, Donald ended up falling backwards. The handlers panicked. Donald rolled around on his back a few times. DS thought it was the funniest thing that whole trip. Donald got up and acted like his angry self. Quite Funny! I felt bad for Goofy though, he most likely was going to get in some trouble for his antics.

November 2011 - There is now a DD to go along with DS. She is in line at AK to meet the Pooh characters. DS thought he was too old to meet them but went along for the wait. we get to Tigger, and the Photopass guy asks DS if he is getting in the picture. I said no, he thinks he is too old. Tigger stops his interaction with my DD and stomps over to DS, forcibly takes his hand and drags him back to where DD is still standing. The look of surprise/joy on DS face is the best picture of the 2 of them on the trip.

Same trip, DD has been obsessed with Tinkerbelle for months. We just missed Tink every time we went by Pixie Hollow. Every night when we got back to our room, she would say tomorrow I will meet Tinkerbelle. Our last chance, our very last day in the world, we were about 5th in line. DD had her Tink shirt on and was so nervous when she knew today was the day. She just ran to her and hugged her and almost wouldn't let go. I just stood there like a complete crying fool.

Only a little more than 2 months before I get to make more wonderful memories.

The Tinkerbell one was definitely an "Awww" moment for me :,)

One of my favorite moments (and I guess it's kind of a no no with characters) was when I took my now 8 year old son on a spur of the moment tag along trip with my sister when he was only about 4 weeks old. Minnie Mouse fell in LOVE with him and she grabbed him and snuggled him into her arms and they loved on each other for the longest time. I somehow lost the picture, it breaks my heart... it was digital.

Love the stories - this is what makes Disney such a special place for me and my family.

When we went to MNSSHP my daughter was dress as Princess Tiana - we met Tiana and Neveen and he was so in character with our entire party. Asking my nieces (23 and 19) if they would like for him to go get some of his cousins (pointing to the water by the Liberty Belle and motioning to the frogs in the background).

We continued our touring and went to the final mix and mingle of the evening and asked a CM where we should be for Shadowman. My daughter was the first little girl in the line dressed as Tiana and as she was walking up to meet him he pointed his staff at her and in his Shadowman voice said " You and I have some unfinished business little girl." The look on her face was priceless, part fear, part awe - 100% awesome.

At our trip in September 2011 we had so many memories! But one that I will never forget and will probably use to embarrass my DS for years to come is the experience we had at 1900's Park Fare for Cinderella's Gala. Anastasia took a liking to my DS and made it known that she was single. He was not into it because as you know girls are gross!! LOL The pictures tell such a great story!

Gazing lovingly at my DS at the time he was 7.

Not so sure about this attention he is getting!

The look on his face is priceless!

She finally got him!! :rotfl2:

My favorite "non-princess" Disney character is Donald Duck. On my first or second trip to WDW when I was a kid, I brought along my stuffed Donald Duck to a character Breakfast. When Donald came to my table and saw the stuffed DD, he took it, ran up to Mickey and sort of taunted him with it. He gave me a big hug and kind of made a show out of the fact that I "preferred" him over Mickey. It was very funny.

When our oldest was 4 in 08 we took him to Disneyland. While we were walking up by the castle (around the bridge area) Pinocchio walked up to him and took his hand and then they stomped on leaves together (It was January) all the way down the pathway and around for about 5 minutes. We got it all on video too and occasionally go back and watch it. Was a unique interaction that in other visits we have not encountered.

Back in '07 a cocworker and I went to MK the evening we arrived at WDW. We went to meet Ariel in her grotto since it was Jan I was wearing a hoodie but I was warm while waiting in line and the t-shirt I had on underneath had Ursula on it. Well didn't Ariel lose it when she saw Ursula we had a long talk about her until I convinced her I liked her more than Ursula. The photo we did was of her looking scared and pointing at my shirt. LOL It was the best meet n greet ever!!!

we have had many wonderful interactions with a certain Drizella. my DD is a complete fan of her (and specifically, "our" Drizella).

but i'll share a different interaction here. DS #2 was six-months old on our most recent trip. at Crystal Palace, i was sitting holding DS after he greeted DD and DS #1. Tigger, very gently approached and let DS #2 touch his hand before getting close so DS could pet his face. it was SO sweet. then, Eyeore did a very similar thing. DS was so enamored with both of them.

other than "our" Drizella (who left a red kiss on his forehead), those were the only two characters who paid him any attention. we all just thought it was the sweetest thing.

Our best interaction was with Lilo and Stitch at Animal Kingdom.

We spotted these two and lined up with DD. She was so excited, but I warned her that we can only spend a little time with them because they are busy meeting everybody.

Well, did they ever prove me wrong!

She got her hug from Stitch first, her favourite:

Then Stitch got a hold of her special "Perry" blanket from her stroller (she liked the comfort when we are out for a long day) and ducked under it with Lilo:

And they spent five whole minutes (probably to the chargrin of everyone in line) playing under the blanket, hugging, wrestling, and posing for pictures. Stitch just did NOT want to stop playing:

It absolutely made her year!

I blew Mickey a kiss during the MSEP. He saw me, "caught" it, and blew it back!
