DJSMOM said:My first trip as a child in the early 80's, was before you had to queue for the characters and you just randomly encountered them in the park. Usually a mob scene if you can remember that time. I was 8 and loved Jiminy Cricket. we ran into him and I was very shy (not like me at all.) He started waltzing with me in the middle of the Hub. I still try to find him whenever I am there.
My son's first trip, we went to MNSSHP on our last night. DS was dressed like the red Power Ranger. We met Cinderella and Prince Charming. Cinderella kissed DS on the forehead. Charming said something about Power Rangers being do brave. DS would not let me wipe the bright red lipstick off his head and told random people in line the rest of the night that "his prince" told him he was brave.
Next trip, DS was in line outside the gates of AK where characters would line up to meet in the morning. Goofy and Donald were side by side, different lines to meet them but they were torturing each other. Just as DS got up to Donald, Goofy ran over and jump on Donald. Althpugh not intentional, Donald ended up falling backwards. The handlers panicked. Donald rolled around on his back a few times. DS thought it was the funniest thing that whole trip. Donald got up and acted like his angry self. Quite Funny! I felt bad for Goofy though, he most likely was going to get in some trouble for his antics.
November 2011 - There is now a DD to go along with DS. She is in line at AK to meet the Pooh characters. DS thought he was too old to meet them but went along for the wait. we get to Tigger, and the Photopass guy asks DS if he is getting in the picture. I said no, he thinks he is too old. Tigger stops his interaction with my DD and stomps over to DS, forcibly takes his hand and drags him back to where DD is still standing. The look of surprise/joy on DS face is the best picture of the 2 of them on the trip.
Same trip, DD has been obsessed with Tinkerbelle for months. We just missed Tink every time we went by Pixie Hollow. Every night when we got back to our room, she would say tomorrow I will meet Tinkerbelle. Our last chance, our very last day in the world, we were about 5th in line. DD had her Tink shirt on and was so nervous when she knew today was the day. She just ran to her and hugged her and almost wouldn't let go. I just stood there like a complete crying fool.
Only a little more than 2 months before I get to make more wonderful memories.
The Tinkerbell one was definitely an "Awww" moment for me :,)
