What were your memories of talking to Disney characters over the years? Disneyland or Disneyworld (if u could say which park it was, I would love that!). I love reading character interactions! :D Thanks!

On our 1st trip to Disney World my oldest was 1. At a parade in Hollywood Studios Jafar came up to her and tipped her little sunhat over her face and said something ugly. It was really funny.

On our last trip we had 2 cute encounters. We had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. My 2 year old went to the bathroom and when she came back, her cousin was sitting in her spot at the table. My daughter thought her cousin was eating her food (she wasn't, just sitting there) and was devastated. She was sobbing. Tigger came up and held her and rocked her until she stopped crying. It was adorable.

On that same trip, my 2 year old and her cousin got to ride the Teacups with the White Rabbit.

My favorite character memory was my Grandma's interaction with Cinderella at the castle breakfast on her 82nd birthday in 2002. We knew it would be her last trip to WDW so we really made a fuss about her...as did most of the CMs. This Cinderella was amazing. She really looked like she stepped out of the movie into this restaurant. Her mannerisms were perfect. She was so sweet to my Grandma. Grandma was grinning like a little girl. DD was 2 years old and doesn't remember this at all, but she was obsessed with the picture of this Cinderella. She called her the "real" Cinderella. No other has measured up since. Grandma passed away three years later and that day was one of my most cherished memories of her. Pure magic.

One of my favorite character interaction was on our first family trip in 2009.

We had been touring during Easter week and I was wearing down. We went to Camp Minnie-Mickey to see the head cheese but also decided to stop at the other trails because there was no.line.period!

I decided to keep DD6 months in the stroller and let DH and DS2.5 go up to see Goofy. When the boys were done with Goof, he left his spot and walked over to DD and patted her head and gave me a hug. I thought it was great that he didn't want anyone to be left out.

On the same trip, we went to Ohana for a super early breakfast. Mickey came up to DD and stuck his nose so close! She just stared at him and grabbed his nose. He just let her do it for a minute or so, gave our cousin (who was holding her) a squeeze, and set off to the next table.

This past December, I had two REALLY good interactions. The first with Alice in MK. I ALWAYS take a pen that is at least 12" + long. Alice asked if I poured some of the "drink me" potion on it. Of course I told her yes! We went back and forth for a few minutes and I just about got her tripped up on her own story. I told her that I used my pen to test the liquid because if I drank it and became a mile high, I'd be kicked out of the park! :rotfl2:

On the same trip, we stopped by MVMCP. I needed to get Cinderella's autograph to mail to a friend's daughter back home. So I stood in the Tremaine's line. Just to find out that they weren't going to sign autographs. :headache: My travel party didn't want to wait in line, but I wasn't going to waste the time I had spent. I greeted the family solo and Prince Charming and Anastasia went on and on about my pins. Charming got tripped up on a Sword in the Stone pin (couldn't remember Mim's name). Anastasia mimicked the Wilderness Explorer's chant and Drizella, feeling left out, completely photo bombed my shot with Charming.

I didn't see it until I got home, but I swear, it's one of my most favorite shots from the trip!

Look deep in the background... Drizella is choking Anastasia fighting for attention.

My first trip to Disneyland in 87. We did breakfast at the restaurant just off Main Street. A whole list of characters came through starting with Chip and Dale. I believe Donald came through too. At the end the whole cast of Robin Hood came through. Still my favorite Disney memory.

On our first trip in 2009, my DD (3 yrs at the time) was dressed in her Snow White costume for dinner in Norway. Before that, we came upon Snow White in Germany. Snow White asked my daughter her name, and she answered "I'm Snow White". SW responded with "Your name is Snow White too! Did you know that's my name??" and then throughout the whole conversation she referred to my DD as "Snow White". Dopey signed her book "To Snow White from Dopey".

Really precious, and so glad we have it on tape! And, she was the perfect Snow White too---real porcelain skin and delicate features. She too could have easily walked out of the movie and into Epcot.

I've got scores of favorite character moments. For now, here's one from my 2009 Star Wars Weekends visit. The Force is strong with Minnie because she knew exactly what I wanted out of this picture.

Back in 1987, we went to Melvin the Moose's Breakfast Show. The bears came up to us as we were sitting down and they grabbed our milk and started throwing it across the restaurant to one another.

In 2010, when DH and I went for our first anniversary, we were at Garden Grill and Dale indicated to us that Chip did not use proper hygiene and smelled on a regular basis.

Last summer, we went back for our second anniversary, and visited Mickey's new meet and greet space in the Town Square Theater. During our time with the Big Cheese and his favorite girl, we were given a tour of his dressing room. It was a nice experience for Mickey, Minnie, the handlers and the Photopass guys to give to two adults. I highly recommend asking for one yourself later.

During our trip to AK in 2010, we were doing a M&G with Goofy. Goofy spotted DH's tattoos on his arm and started pointing to them and then to his own arm. The CM said "Goofy says he has tattoos on his arm too but you can't see them as his arm is black". Goofy then started wildly gesturing at DH and they both ended up confusing each other, which resulted in a great photo of Goofy and DH shrugging at each other :rotfl2:
The CM explained that Goofy was asking what his tattoo meant - DH explained it was the names of his family members in Japanese characters. When it came to the photo, Goofy was hugging DH and resting his head on him..Goofy really was fond of DH :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I have some!

It was right after Pocahontas came out. I LOVED the movie and wanted to meet Pocahontas more than anything. We got in line and when it was my turn...I wouldn't get out of the stroller. I was TERRIFIED of John Smith (My logic now says that he's so small on a TV screen but when you see him in real life... :lmao: ). Pocahontas came down and talked to me (and thankfully, John Smith kept his distance). I don't remember what she said to me but she gave me a kiss on the cheek. I had red lipstick on my cheek for the rest of the day. I cried when my mom wiped it off my face that night.

Another was we were the last family to go see Belle that day. She knelt down to my level and sang to me the beginning of "Something There". I don't remember what else was said to me but I remember her singing to me. My mom says that's just another reason why I'm a singer.

Last year, at MNSSHP, I was with Cinderella and Prince Charming. There's a quote from the musical Into The Woods that the character The Baker's Wife says to Cinderella. It's "Is he charming? I hear he's charming." I always wanted to ask Cinderella if he's charming...so I did. She said "He's very charming." Charming heard his talking and added, "I think it's appropriate to live up to one's name." :lmao: I'm still laughing about that one.

Also last year, when I met Rosetta from the Tinker Bell movies, she called me a "rosie top" because I have red hair. And she said "us rosie tops have to stick together." I was laughing the whole time. :lmao:

Yet again, last year at MNSSHP, I was meeting Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. They showed me the tiara in the satchel (which is BEAUTIFUL!) and I asked why she doesn't wear it. Flynn said, "Well, we were having a lot of adventures today and, you know Blondie here. We didn't want to lose it, you know?" and she added, "Plus, it reminds us of how we met." Total aww factor, right?

Those are just some I thought of now. I may come back and post more, if I can think of them/

My favourite interaction was one that was unexpected. DH and I were at the character buffet in the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris. We had gone to get deserts and DH had a few small cakes on his plate. Goofy came up behind him, took the plate out of his hand and put it on a shelf high up so he could not reach it. Then he rubbed DH's stomach and motioned that it would make him fat and gave him an apple to eat instead!! Then he gave DH's plate of cakes to me instead! It was very funny!!

My most embarassing character interaction was with Jasmine, who I always joke about with my wife as being my favorite.

Well when we were last at Epcot, I took my daughter to visit Alladin and Jasmine while my wife went off to get water or something. As Jasmine was signing my daugther's autograph book and me standing right there, my daughter tells Jasmine that "you are my daddy's favorite princess".

Pretty embarrassing.

And then Jasmine looked up at me and jokingly says "oh really?" which did not make it any better.

Then to top it all off, about 30 minutes later we were walking past that area again, this time with my wife, and Jasmine sees me from across a distance and yells "Hi" and waves. My wife, of course, just glares at me and asks what was that all about.

We entered Magic Kingdom for the very first time with a 5 year old.

we walked under the train station and Snow White was being led to her meeting place.

5 year old whispers-- snow white-- she IS real.
--
but my favorite was at MNSSHP =- she were dressed as Cruella.

We watched the villians show in an area that I knew would be the meeting place to meet cruella.

Well after that show-- cruella came down off the stage-- walked to our spot in line -- banished us beasts and took the 5 year old with her.

she took off her coat and shared it with her- told her she reminded her when she was 5 years old-- and they bantered back and forth for the entire 20 minute meet and greet- the poor people in line who wanted to meet her too--- they all thought she was a hoot and was taking photos of both of them.

This got me misty eyed. Oh, so special!

Not a character interaction, but I took my brother with me to WDW back in 2010 after our mom passed away just to spend some time together. As we were approaching the TTC, a little guy started running and yelling, "I see it! I see it! It's Disney World!"

i get filled up everytime i remember hearing her say it.

Its pure magic when they see it for the first time isnt it?

Our first family trip last year (I don't count the ones when I was a kid), first time for my daughter (then 10).

The very first character she met was Stitch in Tomorrowland. He saw she was wearing a Justin Bieber t-shirt and started to shake his head, then he put his fingers in his ears. He pointed at me, then cupped his ear indicating that I have to listen to it aswell so he hugged me, shaking his head. Then, for all the photos, he put his hands infront of JB's face.

It was a great 'first' interaction!

While at MNSSHP 2 years ago, we were taking a shortcut through the Adventureland Veranda just as Baloo and King Louie were starting their shift. Since no one else was there, we walked over to get a picture with them. They took the toy sword and balloon sword we were carrying and proceeded to duel each other. They topped it off with a dramatic death scene.

At CRT for my DDs sweet 16 she and Belle were talking books and Belle noticed DDs birthday button and asked how old she was. DD tells her 16. Belle says "oh happy birthday! But don't tell Sleeping Beauty that, she'll start going on and on about spinning wheels!" Lol

My first trip as a child in the early 80's, was before you had to queue for the characters and you just randomly encountered them in the park. Usually a mob scene if you can remember that time. I was 8 and loved Jiminy Cricket. we ran into him and I was very shy (not like me at all.) He started waltzing with me in the middle of the Hub. I still try to find him whenever I am there.

My son's first trip, we went to MNSSHP on our last night. DS was dressed like the red Power Ranger. We met Cinderella and Prince Charming. Cinderella kissed DS on the forehead. Charming said something about Power Rangers being do brave. DS would not let me wipe the bright red lipstick off his head and told random people in line the rest of the night that "his prince" told him he was brave.

Next trip, DS was in line outside the gates of AK where characters would line up to meet in the morning. Goofy and Donald were side by side, different lines to meet them but they were torturing each other. Just as DS got up to Donald, Goofy ran over and jump on Donald. Althpugh not intentional, Donald ended up falling backwards. The handlers panicked. Donald rolled around on his back a few times. DS thought it was the funniest thing that whole trip. Donald got up and acted like his angry self. Quite Funny! I felt bad for Goofy though, he most likely was going to get in some trouble for his antics.

November 2011 - There is now a DD to go along with DS. She is in line at AK to meet the Pooh characters. DS thought he was too old to meet them but went along for the wait. we get to Tigger, and the Photopass guy asks DS if he is getting in the picture. I said no, he thinks he is too old. Tigger stops his interaction with my DD and stomps over to DS, forcibly takes his hand and drags him back to where DD is still standing. The look of surprise/joy on DS face is the best picture of the 2 of them on the trip.

Same trip, DD has been obsessed with Tinkerbelle for months. We just missed Tink every time we went by Pixie Hollow. Every night when we got back to our room, she would say tomorrow I will meet Tinkerbelle. Our last chance, our very last day in the world, we were about 5th in line. DD had her Tink shirt on and was so nervous when she knew today was the day. She just ran to her and hugged her and almost wouldn't let go. I just stood there like a complete crying fool.

Only a little more than 2 months before I get to make more wonderful memories.
