Disney Channel Games 2008???

yeah the tents were annoying. Yeah, the bag check was annoying. But, what fun we had!

My kids got a bunch of autographs. Nick Jonas touched my DD's hand. Kevin spoke to my younger DD. They talked to Mr. Jonas. They met Chris Massey from Zoey 101, got autographs from a bunch of Disney Channel stars.

We're hot tired sweaty and gross - and we're gonna do it again tomorrow after school gets out!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

GOOD FOR YOU I AM GALD YOU HAD SOME LUCK BECAUSE A LOT MORE OF US DID NOT

We've never been, so don't have anything to compare to. Sadly, even as AP's I just found out about this yesterday. I guess it's waaay too late to get concert tix now (unless someone feels generous if they decide not to go, or has an extra ticket? pm me)?
We got there ~ 4pm today and saw most all the stars in their respective uniforms, from the lawn. They did some taping and a few waved at the crowd while we were there. Yes, the tents are severely in the way, and yes, we witnessed (JT Austin I think) get told "no" when he attempted to approach the fans, several times by a credentialed person (handler?). However, many of the international stars spent a lot of time at the fence, talking to everyone. Poor Julio (I think - very nice, from Italy) though was caught in the middle, of girls trying to send him, to get others.
What worried me were the kids at the stars' entrance/exit stairway. It looked like they could either fall over or get squished and still not get an autograph!

I think my kids are happy that they even saw celebrities, so it worked out ok for us. My daughter sure would be thrilled with a concert though.pixiedust:

Wow, those are really good pictures! Glad to see someone was so fortunate!

I don't think it was too too bad, what crowd was there was controllable. I've been to other Disney events and it was really really bad, as far as pushing and rudeness.

I hope all of you have the same experience that we were able to have.

"There will be several songs that will be done in the beginning, and the end of the games.

Opening- Ashley Tisdale-Be Good to me, Corbin Bleu-Run It Back Again, Raven Symone-Double Dutch Bus, Miley Cyrus-Start All Over,

Ending- [[Ashley Tisdale-He Said She Said, Miley Cyrus-See You Again, Jonas Brothers-When You Look Me In The Eyes, The Cheetah Girls-So Bring It On,"

This is from wikipedia, so you know that it isn't reliable. And the punctuation is weird, beginning the ending songs with brackets.

But at least it is something.

This information didn't have a source, so we should probably disregard it. If it is true, how come the jonas brothers only have one song? I hope they have like two or three.

pulling out a camera. I heard of people getting theirs confiscated. And, yet, I saw some people with them. I think it probably depended on where you were and what you were photographing. If you were taking pictures of the games, then I think you were more likely to be yelled at than if you were taking a picture of your kid with a star.

Was it hard to get away with the camera??????

HEY ALL! My turn for an opinion. Went today to pick up tickets, got there at 10 a.m. tickets were for seats, got seats. Not a problem at all. As for the games? Well, very sad. There is a serious bag check, true, no cameras, period, they will either take it and hold it till you come out or send you back to your care. I had brought a water bottle and a bag of Goldfish for my daughter to snack on and they took them. Said no food or drinks are to be brought in period. Once inside, wow, big disappointment. There are HUGE white tents around the entire perimeter of the stadium, some spots are clear where you can see between them but not well. Behind the tents is the stage which is smack on top of middle of the baseball diamond. Behind that is a giant white shell tunnell looking thing, all around the rest of the area are various visual obstacles. They do have two big screens which show nothing but the DC Games 2008 logo. As another post stated, it is definitely not fan friendly at all. It is true that the stars rarely get close to the fans and are constantly saying "I'm sorry, I can't" or "I will be right back" yet never come back. Although my daughter was fortunate enough to get some autographs it was borderline dangerous getting them. She is eight and everytime the stars did sneak over the older tweens would rush forward and either push the younger ones over or completely lean over the top. As a parent, I may have been a bit rude to many of them by creating a frame around her NOT allowing such behavior to injure her or any other young one in the area. From what I heard alot of parents dropped off their tweens and they were on there own. Total lack of respect for themselves or others, it was sad. The best stars for autographs were Christopher Massey (Zoey 101), Allison Stoner, and Jason Earls, so nice and real and CARED about the fans. Allison snuck out of the back of a tent and made everyone not yell so she didn't get caught. The end of the day is the best time to go for autographs though, just an FYI, we found that the spot on the right side of the dugout on the left by the grassy place is an awesome spot, so if you can get there around 5 and get to the railing stay there!!! Sabrina from the Cheetah girls was the only one that came over to sign, the other two made every excuse and just walked away. Working production or not I feel that Disney should have allowed the stars to at least visit their fans waiting all day, they are stars because of the fans and a little more effort in allowing mingle time would have really made them feel appreciated. Was it worth it? Not as an all day thing, my suggestion is to wait till afternoon, don't get your hopes up, keep the younger ones close and be prepared for battle to keep them safe in the crush zone, don't bring a camera and find a good spot, if you see others running and screaming, don't follow, by the time you get there, the star is gone and so is your spot. Good luck to those who are heading out this week, the good the bad and ugly are awaiting you, but autographs can be found if your lucky. !

Just spoke with a disney game rep..not to make anyone mad but listen up and understand then react please...you know me so please dont fire off...lol

People really did not understand that this is television being made, rather than a show for the public.

Last year was a learning experience - too many people leaked their photos and video on you tube, and therefore ruined the anticipation of actually watching the show. Because of that, cameras are not allowed.

Because the talent spent so much time signing autographs and taking photographs last year, production was held up, so once again the reason for the games (making a TV show) was interrupted.

of course these are tidbits of my conversation. keep your head up and go experience it because it has been different for so many people. It is like filming a movie. Timelines, scenes w/o sequence, and work.

I will not know until thursday. until then i will listen to all reviews good and bad, from my own decision and learn from them.

I stayed mostly on the line from where home base would be down to the 1st base. I was best to stay really in one spot and be patient and it worked out GREAT for us. The running back and forth just does not look fun at all and do not encourage could be dangerous!

There were alot of security, body guards, Disney People with those god awfull looking vests, good old Osceola Sheriff's and not one person told me, or even looked at me like no she just didn't. So I just kepy on clicking away at the Stars. Hopefully will have same luck again tomorrow.
