Disney Channel Games 2008???

Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever been to the games before? See my dilemna is this is our first trip to WDW, so I'm trying to plan our visits to all the parks, but now all I can think about is trying to have my girls see some of the disney stars. Should I just follow my original plans and maybe try to a hit and miss with the games because I just read the DCG schedule and I do not want to waste precious time trying to see the stars, because you really have no idea when they will be around. Any advice would be great.
I will keep 4/30 open just in case for fanfest.

Yes,I went last year.If you go to Champion Stadium on ANY of the taping days and stay for several hours,you WILL see some DC Stars. You could go one day for several hours and also go to Fan Day which I would think would only last 3 or 4 hours and then "hit the parks like crazy" the rest of the time!

Thank you all for the continued insider info and even random rumors. This is our first trip to WDW and I can't wait to be able to experience the DCGames at the same time!! BTW - I talked to Rosemarie Crumbly today and she said she would be at the ticket window at WWOS handing out tickets. She was super nice to all of us that interacted with her - thought it might be nice for us to know it was her so we could make a point of saying hi/thanks!

EXACTLY! It wouln't be a very good Disney Channel Games if the Disney Chanel Stars weren't ever there to play the games!

How exciting this is going to be for you! This will be my 12th trip to Walt Disney World and I get just as excited each time I go!That is SO AWESOME that your first trip to WDW includes the Dismney Channel Games!It will be hard for you to ever top this trip!

If it is not in any of the theme parks maybe it is somewhere else? WWOS? That is not a theme park. Hal was right they did put out the info SOON.

After doing some thinking,it APPEARS to me that they are trying to keep the crowd for Fan Day at a manageable level by waiting to announce it.That is the only thing that makes sense.By saying there will not be a Fan Day "in any of the Theme Parks",I think they are trying to lower interest because some people will take that to mean that there will not be a Fan Day at all,while all they are saying is "NOT IN A THEME PARK".Wide World of Sports is DEFINITELY not a Theme Park!LOL

i have a question! what hotel will the stars be staying at ? do they all stay at the same one... im guessing theyd probably stay at the swan but i've heard they stayed at the animal kingdom lodge or whatever

I heard they stayed at AKL last year too... but I would think they would want to stay somewhere else this year right?

yeah i don't think they would stay there 2 years in a row cause fans are probably gonna search AKL for them haha but who knows

Anybody there last year - How strict is the NO CAMERA rule? Do they actually take everything out of your bags and search?

I know a lot of you posted pics from last year. How'd you get your camera in?

We weren't planning on arriving until Monday late afternoon but may have to try and get there a little sooner!!

I emailed hal about a fan fest on april 30 he emailed back and said Yes, there will be a fanfest that day. But Disney Channel hasn't released any details that I can share with you.

I saw A LOT of them at Animal Kingdom Lodge last year;I am not sure,but I don't think they ALL stayed there,at least I never saw ALL of them there. I think they all really enjoyed AKL.I think there is a GREAT chance some of them will stay there again this year because it is such a fun resort and also because of its relative close proximity to Wide World of Sports.

Yes,they did look in bags.It was like the bag check area at the Theme Parks.Cellphones were allowed in and of course a lot of them have cameras.I saw A LOT of cellphone cameras being used in Champion Stadium.Also,I think some people "forgot" they had a camera in their pocket and didn't realize it until they were already in the stadium. The Stars DID NOT mind AT ALL when people took their picture,but cameras are not supposed to be used in the stadium-no gray area.I never saw anyone being asked to leave for using a camera,but I don't know how strict they will be this year.

Yes,I noticed that too.DisneyChannelGames.com does not even reference Fan Day while dcgames2008.com specifically addresssed Fan Day by saying that contrary to "internet" reports there would not be a Fan Day "in any of the Theme Parks".This is my theory:dcgames2008 reads this thread and one of the posters on this thread(who shall remain nameless)is affiliated with dcgames2008.I think "internet" in their statement refers to US! Again,just a theory,but if my theory is true,I would like to say hello to dcgames2008! dcgames2008-because you have seen our interest and love for the 2008 Disney Channel Games,don't you think we deserve All-Access Passes for the Games? If you can't do that can you at least announce the List of Stars here first?

You're right. I didn't see anything about fanfest either. Oh, the suspense is killing me. We know it is going to happen on that day, but where? Does anyone have any ideas as to how they would handle the crowds for it. Did they have a fan day last year.

Oh, my daugther would just LOVE to see/meet Miley Cyrus! She is the main one she would want to see. Man, we watch her show everyday at least twice... feels like part of our family! It is sooo funny to hear an almost three year old talk about Miley, Oliver, Jackson, and Lilly like they were someone she plays with everyday!
