Disney Channel Games 2008???

They even did it twice! Remember how the crowd went wild when Joe came out on stage? Then, they had to redo it and the director told the crowd she wanted the same reaction. I don't think it was too hard for the crowd to oblige! LOL

It's funny, my 10 year old wasn't feeling well the whole week of the DC Games. And, the night of the concert, she was just miserable when it was raining and wanted to go home. But, now she sees the commercials and is glad she stuck it out!

My 15 year old hasn't seen herself in any of the footage yet. But, a friend of hers from middle school is very prominently placed in one of the crowd scene.
So, there's still hope we'll see my DD or her friends.

So, here's the big mystery - it appears that the DC Games will be returning to Orlando ...the question is - will tickets be required to see the games? Radio Disney has a sweepstakes called "Quest for the Cup" that started July 15. Here's an excerpt from the official rules:

The Grand Prize is a trip to the 2009 Disney Channel Games in Orlando, FL! Trip includes roundtrip coach class airfare for four (4) from an airport near the Grand Prize Winner's residence to the event location as determined at the sole discretion of the Sponsor; three (3) nights' first class hotel accommodations (one room quadruple occupancy) at a hotel of Sponsor's choosing; four (4) tickets per day to the 2009 Disney Channel Games; and roundtrip ground transportation between the destination airport and the hotel. Approximate Retail Value of the Grand Prize is Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000). Final actual value may be considerably higher or lower depending on point of departure, destination, airfare, and hotel accommodations at the time of booking and travel. I heard about it the contest on Radio Disney last night. Then, when I got home, I checked the official rules. Radio Disney always details the exact prize package in the official rules.

Subway has DC Games Trading Cards with their kids' meals! And, a contest to win a trip to next year's games - looking for the online info right now. My 10 year old wanted nothing to do with a kids' meal until she saw the trading cards! She got 5 cards (Demi, Adrienne Barlon, Jason Dolley and Jake T. Austin) and a "Go Red Team" card. I have a feeling we'll be going to Subway a LOT this week! LOL

Yes we went to Subway the other day and when Osjah saw those cards she HAD to have a kid's meal... which she usually hates... so instead we bought all 4 sets of cards for $1 a set and ate big people food LOL

Anyone watch the High School Musical Get In The Picture debut tonight? I LOVED it but I have to say I cried thorugh half of it LOL. It FINALLY occured to me why I love Disney so much... it's all about making the kids feel good about themselves and special... even the ones who did not make it... no Simon there for sure... just kind words and encouragement... gotta love it!

Ooooh, they let you *buy* the cards? They didn't tell me that! They forgot to put the cards in my DD's meal and when my DH went up to enquire about them, he tried to get two sets, but they said no way. I would have *happily* paid a buck a piece for them!

I learned to always ask from Mickey D's because I HATE their food (love the fries though LOL) and my kids always wanted their toys... plus during the whole beanie thing... most places will just sell you the toys and usually it's $1 plus tax...

Thanks for the tip - went to Subway and got 6 sets (2 each of yellow, blue & green - they were out of red). Now I need one more red and both DDs will have the whole collection!

Well I hope you win too! That is my goddaughters' sitiuation. No way will mom or dad take them, nor would they allow me to take them. I'm not sure I could handle 5 kids on my own, but I was willing to try, or take turns bringing one or two with me. I even offered to help the family get to go with us, but they just can't be bothered.

It makes me feel bad, because I want to share the magic with them. I also don't feel free discussing our experiences with them, and worry about my ds going on and on to the girls, when I know they want to go so badly.

It really aggravates me when mom goes on about wanting to take the girls, but then she will not let them go, nor go with us. I was willing to move my dates or even schedule around them.
